- Brother and Baby Lock Design Database Transfer Software
Hello Everyone! Just downloaded and played with the new Brother and Baby Lock Design Database Transfer program. This is a FREE program that allows you to transfer your designs wirelessly from your machine if it has the wireless feature! So cool! You can also search for designs, print catalogs of designs and manage your designs with this free program. You need to download the Baby Lock version for the Baby Lock machines or the Brother version for the Brother machines. I am so thrilled with this, I have a Meridian and can do this using a dongle and Embrilliance. But, this is so much easier! I was trying to figure this out, and couldn’t get it to work. Now I can, thanks to your video! Hurrah! Until I bought my Meridian I always jumped designs from my computer to machine (Spirit) using a cord. Not on the Meridian! Love my Embrilliance, too, but now have two choices. I appreciate your making this video….thank you! Happy me!

This is awesome! I just switched to Hatch from PE and finding that darn dongle had become a real pain since I no longer design in PE and have no need the dongle any more. Thank you for finding and sharing.

I found this sooo informative. I am new to machine embroidery. I just purchased a Babylock Vesta. Until I saw your video, I was so confused about everything. I now can at least get started exploring my new machine. I do have a request. Could you please explain how you organize your files and folders. I purchased some embroidery files. All I could see for a name for the file was a group of numbers. How do you determine what to name a file that makes it unique? When would you create a new folder? I so look forward to your response. thank you so very much. Yu helped me get my new 10 needle connected, I have one ? most of my designs are not coming up in my folders. they are on my pc but not in this program. can you tell me why? Thanks
Hi Patricia, Did you click on the little + sign to open the folder that the designs are in? Also, are your designs extracted or unzipped?
I like your video. I just bought the No 1700 I also wanted the wireless transfer but I found out there is no way to use it on a Mac computer. Do you have a workaround for this? Or a resource for me to investigate? Thanks for any ideas you might have
Hi Sherri! You could run this program on your Mac using Parallels or Bootcamp. Most of my students have an inexpensive Windows computer to use for their embroidery if they are Mac users. You don't have to use the wireless feature, you can write sticks with your Mac with no problems
Thank you for the video on Design Database Softwaare. I wasn't able to connect to my Luminaire. My LAN was incorrect., not comminating to my Luminaire.
I recently moved to another city and changed carrier for internet.. My wareless network is working well, but unable to make the connection to my machine. Help. Thank you. Helen
Hi Helen! Sounds like your machine and the software are not on the same network possibly? Also make sure your machine is updated to the current version.
Help! I am still trying to figure out how to make design database transfer to look properly on my screen. At first it showed properly but then it changed to a bunch of text with no pics. Now it shows a blank page plus it says “ libraries” instead of library and nothing opens
Hi Eileen! Did you try uninstalling the software, redownloading it, and reinstalling it? Sounds like you may have had a bad download.
Can this program be used to transfer PES designs from the Embrilliance Software to the Nq1700e or do I have to use an USB to transfer designs created in Embrilliance to the Nq1700e? Hope this makes sense.
No you can transfer any PES file to the machine with Desigm Database Transfer. Just navigate to the file it is in from Design Database Transfer and send to machine.
This is fine but nobody addresses what to do when the "add" button is pressed and no machine shows up, after hitting refresh still no. It worked fine before one machine update. My machine is 1 month old!
Hi Cheryl! Sorry you are having trouble. Usually when the machine doesn't show up in the software, it means the machine is not on the same network as your computer, or not connected to the internet. Also make sure the machine is "awake" and ready to embroider, not on the opening screen. What machine do you have?
I don’t know what this dongle thing is that she’s talking about. I have the flare, just got it 3 days ago. I have a MacBook and design database is not compatible with apple. So today I bought a cheapie little laptop with windows I will use strictly for my new Babylock machine. Now I am lost haha. I did download the program but not sure what to do from here
Hello Eileen! The Dongle that I refer to is the security device that runs the Brother PE-Design or Baby Lock Palette full digitizing program. These programs allowed you to send designs wirelessly, but you had to have the Dongle plugged into the computer to run the program. The new Design Database Transfer program is FREE and does not require a Dongle, so is very convenient. Yes, Design Database Transfer is a PC/Windows program. Many of my students have purchased a PC just to use with their embroidery like you have.
is there a download I can use with MAC (not Microsoft)
Design Database Transfer is a PC program. You may be able to run it on a Mac using Parallels or Boot Camp. I'm not too familiar with Mac

Make sure that your computer and your machine are both on the same network. Also, the machine needs to be on and ready to embroider (not in the start up mode).
I have this issue all the time with my Flare. It worked so well at first, but in an hour just no longer is findable. I haven't been able to use it since that first time. Today, I got it to connect for a minute, but as soon as I went to transfer my design it disconnected.
@@JamieHertter HI Jamie! I'm sorry you are having trouble with design database transfer. I rarely do. Is your machine ready to embroider? Not in the start up mode. Is your machine near the router?
@@sewalongwithjan thank you for responding! I'm sure it's the network. They are on the same one, the machine is ready to go. I've shut down and restarted, disconnected and reconnected. I sometimes get enough time to transfer a file, but it doesn't last. So the only thing it can be is my internet/network. Country life, you don't get high speed cable, lol.
@@JamieHertter it could be the network. I do live in town and have very fast internet service. It's also very reliable.
