  • Join us in the garage as we fabricate a strut bottom lift for my 20 year old Toyota Avalon gambler car. We are also fitting some jeep wheels and bigger tires to get us some even more ground clearance which will be very helpful when we take this thing out for its first off road rally cross event called Hooptie X put on by the guys from the Gambler 500.

    -also this is NOT a recommendation, if you choose do replicate what we've done in this video you are doing it at your own risk. Be safe.

    "Who needs a rear sway bar anyway"
    Famous last words as he high-sides over outside of a turn down a 1000 ft vertical drop.

    Interesting. Definitely a different way of accomplishing the end result. I've been looking at avalon struts for my 99 camry. Avalons weigh more and I carry many tools in my trunk. I was thinking of a spacer at the top, and when I googled spacers, I seen they make them for the Tacoma pick up. I haven't found if they're interchangeable at the top mount. It showed various sizes up to 3 inch. I wish you could get HEAVY DUTY springs for trailer towing. Thanks for sharing.

      I’m going to do the kyb struts that come with springs and the top spacer probably 1.5 inch ones on my 2002 avalon

      I put FCS quickstruts off Rockauto on my friend's 98 Camry. They are quite a bit stiffer than the stock ones that were on it. They have held up nice. I decided to replace the struts on the Avalon with the FCS struts too. They are really good struts for the money, they lifted the car slightly in the front and rear. I like it better that way.

    I know this video is a couple years old, but if someone could figure out how to swap an AWD transmission and transfer case out of something like a Lexus RX300, this would be perfect combo

    This is such a clean Avalon, it makes me sad to see you cut through those clean body parts. Those fog lamps were clean too, I didn't know they were clear lol

    What did you guys do to space out the fenders?

    • @DonnieDispersed
      @DonnieDispersed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unbolted some of the bolts and pulled the bottom of the fender out then made some brackets to hold them in place.
