    stumbled upon your vids when i got my m50b25 recently,,,, good quality, very informative, and most of all, very entertaining! unfortunately, i saw part 2 before this, but i've gotta say, im subscribing, looking forward to more!

    can you possibly go into more detail about the m50 turbo. Like the e34 rear axle swap, big brake swap. etc. Sounds very helpful

    Olisin mahdollisesti turbottamassa oman Bmw e39 523i m52b25 koneen, olisiko sulla vinkkejä miten tuo kannattaisi tehdä ja mitä kannattaa ottaa huomioon. Paljon nuo koneet esim vakiona kestäisi ahtoja. Itsellä tuo kone olisi noin 440 000km ajettu ja olisi tarkoituksena tarkistaa moottorista puristus paineet, moottorin kunto ja vaihtaa ainakin kannentiiviste kunnolliseen ennen turbotusta.

      +Elwin Priem Sorry the part 4 will be dalayed because of the problems with turbo manifold finishing but I will start different kind of m50/m52 turbo project in the mean time. First video will be out in couple of days.

    This will BE really nice....i wanted to do the same Project at my m52b28..all forced engine Pistons rods valves spring etc...in greece the Maschine Shop that would do the whole Project wanted 4000-5000 euro....they told me that IT will reach aprox 350ps....but too much Money for litle horsepower Upgrade...

      Yeah making more HP out of NA engine is really expensive. Much more bang for buck by just going turbo setup.

    Hi. Can you please draw attention on oil cooling, oil feed and drain, and oil sensors in next videos? Because I don´t know how to do it without S50 oil filter. Thanks.

      The next video will be about turbo oil feed and drain but nothing about oil cooling. We aren't going to add oil cooling to this. My m52 turbo has oil cooling with s50 parts and I would highly recommend that setup. It's even cheaper than buying properly working aftermarket kit (most of them don't work correcly because they don't have thermostat).

    the rear axle from e34 has the same hole spacing or did you have to adapt?

      No it doesn't. The e34 axle has to be narrowed about 10cm and the bushings have to be from e30. Also the rear support has to be totally redone.

    im waiting now for part4! can you say my what turbo you owned for the project? i have a very simillar one that will be mounted on m50b20 in e34, its the gt3076.

      +BadMrMagic Good luck with the m50b20. It will take the boost like the b25, but I think that there is no aftermarket performance parts for the b20 (pistons etc.) So if you break that, I would recommend to get b25.

    Next time just put a wrench on that 22 main bolt and pry it against the car body then just turn the key, the starter motor will do the job for you

      +Vicjo Koper I know. But that doesn't help when I have to tighten the main bolt. So I will need that tool eventually.

    What brand blow of valve and waste gate do you recommend ?

      Something like Tial or Turbosmart should work fine. I run knock off ones, but don't recommend that 😁

      Joo vakio puristukset. Bensalla se on vähän riskialtista, mutta viinalla vois olla vaikka enemmänkin puristuksia.

    Is that an Aluminum block? and do you happen to have a build thread on r3vlimited? I swear I've seen this car before.

      +Thecharger Thanks! It's just old trigger wheel which has steel bar welded to it :D Yes it's aluminium block from m52 (2.8 stroker). And yes there is thread on r3vlimited: www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=365453

    Did you put an m50 non vanos head on an aluminum m52b28 bottom end? I'm trying to get rid of vanos for my turbo build due to simplicity.

      Yes I did. But I wouldn't get rid of the vanos. You get much more low end torque and faster spool with vanos. I have it in use in my m52turbo and there is big difference if I don't use it.

      What turbo you got? Ive got a small holset h1c layin around with the 18cm exhaust housing which i might throw an hx35 or hx40 compressor housing on. Not quite sure yet. Your car is super clean though. I love the brown color. Keep making vids!

      Jānis.P Yes we are using the nikasil block. It hold fine for one summer and we will investigate the condition of the block in future episode.

    where do i find oil line feed off the engine, do i have to tap a hole somewheres or is there already a port to feed turbo oil?

    @pazi88 can I put a aluminum magnesium single vanos valve cover on a 1997 528i 2.8 liter single vanos with a plastic valve cover? Im tired of cracking valve covers. I wanted to know if this swap is possible? Any advise would greatly be appreciated.. Thanks

      Yes you can put it the magnesium cover to m52. But if the cover is from m50tu engine, you may need to change the coils to m50 ones and hack the wire harness to fit. But there is also magnesium cover in -95 m52 engines and that is almost perfect fit to replace the plastic cover. You only need to figure out how to mount the coil wire plastic cover to magnesium cover. Or just leave it loose :D

      +pazi88 I wasn't sure. I had the 95 magnesium valve cover in my hand yesterday. They wanted $20 for it at out local junkyard. I hesitated because I couldnt find a e39 to test fit it on. They look identical except for the fact the gasket is flat on the magnesium cover. I also noticed the valve cover is flat itself. I put the cover in a safe keeping till I was sure. Thanks for the info. you guys are the Kings of BMW!.

      +Mario Martinez Thanks! Yes the gasket is different, but that is easily solved by buying gasket for -95 m52. Or if they don't have that available, the m50 vanos valve cover gasket is same. Even when the cover itself is different.

    hello, is it possible to build m50b20 with m52b28 crankshaft and piston rods?

      No because different bore. But if you use m52b28 crank and connecting rods and m52b20 pistons, you get 2.5 litre engine with 12:1 compression ratio.

      @@dropkaa12 Then use b25 crank with same pistons and connecting rods. It will only be about 2.3 litres but compression ratio will be lower.

      Hmm, maybe i can use stock pistons, and install thick cylinder head gasket or take of - some mm from the bottom of the piston?

      @@dropkaa12 Depends if you have vanos in your engine or not. Vanos engine has 140mm connecting rods so 135mm rods with b25 crank work. But non vanos engine has 135mm connecting rods so you are forced to swap pistons with b25/28 crank.
