Not always! What test centre are you at? It might just be someone got unlucky but I usually find if you are friendly and engage them they’ll be quite pleasant and helpful 😊

My wife's first language is not English and she'll be taking taking her test shortly - for her this guide is overdramatic, confusing and of little use. I'll need to teach her instead.
My wife's instructor & I taught her Show Me Tell Me (I did most of it) - she passed her test first time at the beginning of June, so we did something right.

5:03, I think that answer could because of those non-power steering vehicles, for which it will be same whether ignition is on or not does not affect. For power steered vehicles, the servo unit is connected to engine, so it helps in easy driving and it will be stiff if the engine is not ignited.

What do you do if your instructor has gone over the show me once and then suggests that you just accept a minor instead of taking your eye off the road/losing control of your car to demonstrate the answer? As I have asked to go over it all until I am able to do everything.
To be fair they do have a point. It's only a minor. But if you can't operate a simple switch while driving, one that you'll need to operate while driving, like the demisters, then it's something your instructor should address and work on with you!

It’s usually always safe to do the action but saying when it’s safe takes the urgency out of the question So you don’t panic. With the horn just be mindful you don’t startle people. But they usually only ask this when you’re on a quiet street not in busy traffic
