Found you from the Oak Glen video and clicked on your LA playlist and were so happy to see our friend Brigham!! Very cool. He has shown us around at Christmas time and I must say it is GORGEOUS at that time! And just so cool in general, so much better than we expected. You are right, no one loves DTLA more than Brigham! Love you Briggs!
Thank you so much, Brigham and Chris. Downtown has changed tremendously since I worked there 40 years ago. It was dirty, run down but full of small businesses I desperately miss. Regular folks have been forced out by the affluent and corporate ownership is mixed bag. I'm so glad some of the movie theaters and hotels have been restored!
Thanks for your great video! The Downtown Los Angeles,(DTLA for short), renaissance, has experienced lots of fragmentation, that's kept it from experiencing the total refreshment of its renewal efforts! Its on its way!
My Mom and I used to take The RTD to go eat at The Clifton’s Cafeteria and look for bargains. That was back in The 80’s when everyone thought down Downtown LA is crap. I love D-LA then because it left me with such wonderful memories of my mother. So, it’s very cool to watch this video.
Im so happy to hear about the palace theatres. One is converted into a church. The lady that leads the church is popular, l cannot recall her name. She has hundreds of old/ancient bibles that fill up the beautiful lobby. L.A. was very ornate & fancy. My grandparents told stories of long walks downtown wearing their fur wraps, and tuxedos while heading to the b/w movies. And the sidewalks had purple square lights built in to the side walk. You can still see them on 7th St, while heading towards "Skid-Row".....
Great video! I'm visiting LA for the first time in July! Don't forget folks there is a Discover Los Angeles tourist information center in the lobby of the Wilshire Grand Intercontinental Hotel!
Born in 1948, I grew up in various parts the LA area through the '50s and '60s. I vividly remember as a child wondering at the streetcars and their tracks and overhead electrical lines. I remember marveling at the magnificent art deco, black-and-gold Richfield building, whose destruction seemed shocking to me. In 1966-1967, I commuted by bus between West Covina and UCLA. Since I changed busses downtown, this gave me the opportunity of viewing all those wonderful old buildings at my leisure. Anyway, I thought of them as very old, although at that time they were really still comparatively young. I saw some movies in one of those grand old theaters. I remember rooting for DTLA to become a more vital and alive place, because at the time it was a bit on the shabby side. Although I now live in Washington state, I find it very gratifying to see the old place waking up and to see not only lots of new construction and revitalization but also the refurbishing of some of those great old buildings that were the backdrop for so many gritty films noirs. My youthful dream is finally being realized!
A missed exclusive-to-LA foodie opportunity to give a shout out in the footage of Cassell’s across the street from Freehand. Chef David Chang raves the patty melt as the best he’s ever had. And the burger is in the running as one of the best in LA, even as the Shake Shack chain is a few doors down. Also, LOL at the Chevy Volt at 5:57 driving on the wrong side of the street.

Dtla on the come up. Our only problem is the homeless, they have to find a solution that helps them and just doesn’t kick them out. Otherwise Arts district, Lil Tokyo, Dtla... probably 4-5 days to explore the area or more, so many restaurants, coffee, bars, shopping, events, and more things to do. You’ve done a lot of LA/SD video guides, and while they’re all good I’m surprised you still haven’t done guides for the Inland Empire (I’m a native), Coachella Valley or the High Desert. Not as much to do in LA/SD, but enough landmarks, tourist spots and restaurants to make videos of.

So for the Wilshire Grand Hotel, going up to the hotel lobby deck is completely free? Like how does that work being able to go up there? Just take an elevator up the floor and you’re able to see the views even if you aren’t staying at the hotel?
Yup! Walk in the ground floor.. find the lobby elevator and go up
YAY!!! Yellow production!!! Topher!!! Columbus!!!! Chris!!?
A common movie filming locations in LA video would be awesome!
I'll put that on the list of video ideas :)
Love LA❤️❤️
And DTLA is no doubt, another fine example of (long pause) the California Gold...
DreamBytheSea nah that’s San Francisco
Brigham Yen!! I know these guys
Love your videos.
Thanks!
Say "Downtown LA" one more time. I dare you. I double dare you!
Downtown LA! :)
Hi JR.. I just dont spend much time out on that direction :)
awesome town
nice sweater Chris!
Beam me up! :)
it looks clean......time for me to move back
What about Skid Row downtown LA?
I was 4 months ago in Down Town LA and I was sooo bored.
The only funny thing was that I met a male pornstar in a bar who invited me for a glass of Sake 🤣🤣🤣
Dig the trek gear !
That looks fun I want to go 😅
Have you ever visited the Angel City brewery there..? Wanting to visit next time we are there.

Just recently recorded it. Haven't released it yet. Stay tuned in the next few weeks
I stayed at the freehand LA hotel for beautycon LA.
How did you like it?
@@YellowProductions yeah. I liked the freehand LA hotel. I just couldn't believe I was right across from the golden gopher bar where they shot Taylor swift music video for delicate.
Freehand is the one where I or tour groups will stay in
Bruv, you missed out on the hidden gem: Sams. That place is a local spot to visit if ever in LA. Fck the history of the building, show me the wild and fun spots. When this person says trendy it’s mainly white/hipster/boogie vibe to it.
My dad worked at joes parking in the 70 s
I love ❤️ Los Angeles 👍🏼
What's your favorite part about LA?
Downtown, Boyle Heights, Hollywood, Echo Park, Universal City, Mid Wilshire, Melrose, Century City, the 405, the 110 the 101 the 10 ALL OF IT!!
"The high Street" ... We call it Main Street here in the USA... High street is English.
