Got orders three times here. 1998-1999, 2001-2003, 2005-2006. It was the best times. Just caught up with my interventional radiology crew from back them. We ruled DI at the DGMC.
It's still an armpit of a base and local community---especially the non-veteran State Local government employees / politicians who are peeing on the GI's here. It's really a disgrace. Bad schools, bad thug cops, blighted neighborhoods in the 3 biggest cities in Solano County, high gas and grocery prices, overpriced shoe box homes with high property taxes, high water, garbage and utility prices, lots of "invaders" running amuck---not exactly a great place to buy a home or retire. Better military communities elsewhere.
What do you expect from California? It IS a Banana Republic after all! I enjoyed my time there, but it was another decade... the one that gave us Reagan.
yeah----it seems every 30 years or so, New York or California gives us a leader to save us (and Illinois gives us a leader to destroy us)---You know them---Fillmore, Van Buren both Roosevelts , Reagan. I don't know---the nation has changed demographically and seemingly the newbies know nothing about history, heritage, politics, science or math. The Donald may not make it and we (and especially California) will be stuck in a nose down attitude of "more of the same" epic fail. Yikes!
Yupp general Travis crashed a bomber not sure the type over by the big radar building on the east side of runways. The area is heavily contaminated with radioactive materials because the nukes cracked open and burned
All newly assigned Airmen, Soldiers and Sailors need to be briefed on the biggest threat to their welfare and safety----the automobile along with the horrible roads and climatic driving conditions around Travis AFB. There's danger on Peabody (deadbody) Road, Highway (dieway) 12 and Airbase (air race) Parkway. And that's just for starts!
My brother was born in that hospital, I think it's called grants or something ❤
