In Texas we’ve had voter id cards for longer than I’ve been alive in my 60 years.
They are paper.
If republicans really want to have secure voter ID. All we need is a free national or state voter id card with your frickin picture and signature. It’s simple.
Texas doesn’t want it because they want everyone to have a state issued ID.
This disenfranchises many elderly and disabled folks.

Voter ID, No ballot drop boxes, only disabled, foreign workers, and military get to vote by mail. Election day a national holiday. No alcohol sales, no drug sales.

Why do you think the GOP refused to back Trump's election fraud claims it's because they knew damn well there was cheating going on on both sides of the isle and wanted it to stay hidden. This is also why even when they have control of all three branches the GOP refuses to enact the election laws that almost 80% of the country wants the most important being voter ID.

Exactly.. look at the Mayor race in Bridgeport CT , 4 individuals removed & replacement with phony ballots. Not just once but a Federal Judge had to scrap the election, costing millions to the taxpayers. I won’t mention their names or ethnicity but you can look it up.

Unguarded abscentee boxes strategically placed in certain areas which favored one party. Voter trucks soliciting only certain areas. It was so easy to stuff those ballot boxes.

People label it undemocratic when we insist that voters show proof of citizenship before voting. I have witnessed individuals arriving at polling stations to vote, and the only question asked by the polling station worker was for their name. When I inquired if identification was needed, I was told, ‘No, just tell your name and address, and that’s enough.’ Remember, having a driver’s license doesn’t necessarily mean someone is a citizen, although it can help verify that the person voting is indeed who they claim to be. They call this defending democracy, yet it allows anyone to walk into a polling station, use another person’s name, and vote.
This has been happening in Massachusetts for years. No ID..just name and address. No proof of citizenship. License is not the answer because illegals can get them at RMV as soon as they get here.

This is a good example why Americans should be allowed only to vote in person, there are many ways to make this happen easier, more voting places and more days to vote and more volunteers and better computer connectivity It can be worked out.

This is why mail in and drop off boxes are bad. Go in person and for the disabled do something different.

No wonder no one asked me for ID when I tried to vote in Brooklyn, NYC.
I am a registered voter in the state of MA. when I go to vote, I am on the voter rolls. they match my name to my address and I am never asked for an ID. they would not even give me a ballot upon which to vote were I not already a registered voter. similarly, if I want to vote by mail, I have to request my mail in ballot well in advance, file an application for the ballot and only then will one be sent to me. no ID required, my signature is my ID. an ID is not the least bit of an inconvenience for me. I have a valid drivers license. but for poor people who do not drive, requiring one is the difference between being able to vote or not. these restrictions impact people of color predominantly. and that's exactly how they are intended. it's a form of election fraud/suppression.
