    Hey guys, Dave here from GuitarZero2Hero and in this video I’m going to be teaching you some awesome tips and tricks on how to learn songs by ear which is one of the most valuable skills you can develop as a guitarist and musician in general.     When I’ve played a song learnt a by ear in front of non musical friends in the past they’ve reacted as if I were pulling a rabbit out of hat - Dave how the hell did you do that? But like any magic trick you see - once you know how it works, it’s actually not as magical as you once thought.

    I’m in a weird area where I like the “ just feel it out man” style but I also am fascinated by the technical and mathematical way music works approach.
    There’s such a thing as getting really good at doing something bad or wrong. Find what your brain does best but also train harder what it struggles with. Trial and error

You are so good at explaining to it’s actually fun to learn. I’m doing a music theory course at the moment and it’s just so boring would love you to explain how cords come about and how songs change cord structure when entering the chorus or bridge. Because I just don’t understand :)

    Spent a year learning songs off your tutorials. Then figured this isn’t sustainable to rely on tabs all the time, I need to learn to play by ear and ended up right back here. You sir are a legend!

    I remember the first time I heard the diminished chord isn't used often. Every tutorial video after that for a week had diminished chords lol

    Amazing tutorial! Mind blown! I was just asked by my father to figure out chord progressions of the songs he likes and thought it would take me years to be able to do that.     i used to be scared by his tutorial when i was a beginner i think he's technique was hard BUT now all im watching are his videos!!! He is really good in teaching guitar songs but a bit beyond for beginners (only in my opinion) i do recommend his videos!!! thanks alot!

    Loved this! I've been playing the guitar for over 7 years and really loved figuring out the vocal melodies, but I never really understood how to easily pick up the chords by ear. Thanks a lot Dave! I think I found myself a new hobby! 😄
