I worked on a car just like that in 2017 in Northfield Vermont for a guy named Richard L, the positive wire from the battery to the starter would not make a secure connection so I used a highly conductive metal washer and a 3/4 inch drive ratchet and that worked
Pretty car. I love how it talks about warnings and reminders. A friend of mine had an 88; K-car, but it was a cheaper model than the New Yorker, but it did the same "talking." Your dogs are beautiful; please have someone watch them the next time you back a car out!
I promise that the dogs are seasoned shop dogs and stay stay safely away from moving vehicles, and my wife was there watching the dogs while I backed the car. She won't allow anything to happen to her spoiled pets. The fur babies appreciate you looking out for them. They make random appearances in several of my videos.
I was 13 when this car was made. My aunt had a '86 champagne one with dark wine color leather interior and the little gills on the fenders. I know they are just K cars, but I have Always liked them Chrysler always had beautiful interiors, and the butter soft tufted leather seats were soo comfortable. The digital dash was cool, and the power buttons had a nice feel to them. They are just so comfy to be in, and just the right size. Congrats!
I absolutely love Chryslers. The era of cars From about 75 to 93 vinal tops I adore... But from that era of cars from Cadillac to Oldsmobile to Pontiac ,buicks ,Mercury's ,Lincolns..The most beautiful car I have ever seen out of all of those Was a 1975 Chrysler imperial LeBaron I mean it looks like it was absolutely made for royalty..!!! Just a gorgeous gorgeous car..!!!!
Oh nice! My uncle had a 1993 New Yorker with padded landau roof and v6 engine. The car was so stately and elegant looking and the ride with its thickly cushioned seats was a dream. It really makes me sad that beautiful and luxurious 4 door sedans and the once prestigious Chrysler name, have all but disappeared.
I had an 84 LeBaron and I always got so many compliments and that thing was 10 years old already when I bought it. That 87 u got still looks better than most cars today.
This version NYer were ubiquitous in their day! They sold like crazy. If I could get a car like that now I'd buy it in a heartbeat just for the interior. Where/how did you ever find it?
So a couple of things not accurate about what you said . First the 2.2 turbo was rated at 146 horse power which was really good for the time and second these cars never came with air ride so if the air ride still works on this car that's amazing. According to the factory brochure the car could have come with gas filled struts/shock absorbers and with the sport handling ( recommended with 2.2L turbo) included gas filled struts/ shock absorbers, firm feel quick ratio steering. You could also get electronic height control rear load leveling. But no where in the dealer brochure does it say anything about air ride. I would also say that the turbos often went bad on the 2.2 turbo engines so it's better to have the standard 2.5L EFI it was more reliable and gave you 101 horse power which was ample for those cars. I had a 1987 Plymouth Caravelle with the 2.5L which was the same size car and same platform for that matter and it got ample power out of that engine.
The electronic height control you speak of is a switch on the rear straight axle that turns on a compressor that provides air to raise the rear of the vehicle. Air ride may not be the proper terminology it was more like auto leveling.

I had one of these. I bought it with 24K original miles on it. It was a great car, but those thin tires aren't quite enough for the car. They would squeal even around the slightest curve in the road.
Style wise, one of the most hodgepodge designs for an automobile ever. Nothing looks like it belongs together ! From the roof line to the awful bumpers. What a mess !

I was 7.
I didn't appreciate these cars as a kid because we had a brand new Camry.
But these old Chryslers are amazing now!!! Wish I had at least one.
@@thewiseguy3529they are still out there. Just gotta look.
Champagne over wine? Did she get tipsy driving it?! 🤔😉
@@trudygreer2491 I didn't even think about that lol. Good one!
Silly moderator, wish we could see more of this nice vehicle.
You never know it might make another appearance on the channel.

I still think the talking feature would be helpful in modern times because we are so distracted
I agree with you. But my wife would feel like it was telling her what to do! :)

It is crazy the car fads go. There were some darn fine New Yorkers.
Brings back memories. I had the same one in navy with navy blue leather interior.
I've always liked these from new and still today. If I came upon a nice clean one, I'd buy it.
Neat car. I had an 84 5th Avenue with the same seats.
Probably the best part of the whole car is those seats!
I owned a car like this one mine was ice blue inside & out mine was also Turbo charged motor
Great car in any color!
"Your door is a jar" and we would say "No it`s a door".
That is my wife's kind of humor.
My baby sitter had a black on black 86. I believe she won that car in a contest.
I had to pay for this one, but can you imagine winning a car in a contest!!! That's a dream for sure.
ohhh this is a dream car right here
For some of us it sure is!

Came for the New Yorker, stayed for Beatrice!!!!
Our girl Beatrice is a shop staple. She makes frequent guest appearances in my videos. She likes to "help" me out.
Seems like I've seen another car on YT called Betty White. Betty sure does get around. 😎
You are so funny😅
Very nice 😊
Agreed!
Your engine oil pressure is low, prompt service is required.
My aunt had this car brand new I loved it
i am OVER THE MOON on the BABY YORKER!
Chrysler Le Barron was a K car. Shared the same platform as the Plymouth Reliant and those small cars. The LeBaron was wanna be New Yorker
2:00 There's something very familiar about all this....!
Why is this so hilarious? This was and still is a great car. 🤦♂️ Guess you had to be there.

My wife’s uncle has been storing it away for years. I have been bugging him to sell it to me for a while.
@@Mopoor1984 Beatrice is adorable!! Your NYer is surprisingly rust free, which is surprising as they were kind of rust prone. Keep that car for life.

They were nice until they started using the garbage K-Car unibody. Ruined the whole line.
An over rated K-Car what sad example of a Chrysler Product
Nice car....Lucky for you, it didn't have the mitsubishi motor in it..........
