This is really something, im really enjoying watching how the new CIC 20 has changed and has really made a good difference in training I remember how my course was all over the place and didn't make me enjoy training
You'll get a lot of shit answers because everyone is just miserable who is in atm and the threads on reddit etc are really toxic and abusive which is quite representative of the culture. Some small useful tips for basic would be to do things like bring more bungee cords than you need for likes of your phase 1 for your shelter making/fieldcraft, take your own good iron for clothes ironing, kiwi polish kits (brown and black) containing parade polish for bulling the boots as well as the brushes (Alt-berg is seen as having top of the range stuff for this). Casual wear for any downtime and outdoor/indoor trainers with laces for any PT - if you suffer from shin splints it's recommended you get your gait analysed at a sports shop and get proper trainers, you'll likely need to arrive in a suit to basic. Plenty of padlocks for locking your gear away (get a pack of 5-10 or something) coded ones are a bit better because having the keys is a bit of a pain when you're there. 'Compeed' is really handy to have for any blisters on feet Do what you are told no matter how stupid it sounds as some of it is just to see what your like with being fucked about sometimes. Arrive prepared in fitness, try and get your 2km run as close to 8 minutes or less as you can. Work on pressups and situps, and endless lunges and squats will help. A lot of guys wished they'd tried running with weight before arrival. Don't mong it with drink, don't mong it with admin and get stuff squared away.

I am 15 turning 16 in December and have my interview in 2 weeks, also I am getting my fitness up by doing 100 press ups over the course of a day 100 sit ups and 100 squats, is there anything else I can do to help prepare myself(fitness)

Could you tell me about the accommodation your given if you take up the opportunity to live on base? Would you have the choice when it comes to taking a single bed room or a double bed room? Or if there’s a choice at all when it comes to taking a room?
You'll generally get what you are given, normally sleeping in the same room as like 12 other guys. The quality of the living quarters can be pretty shit and you've to just get on with it
Yes - don't worry! You'll get thorough training and it will feel very natural. Rest assured you are not the only left handed person that will be in the Army!
How do recruits go about choosing their regiment. Like is it guaranteed or do they number their most preferred choices? Also do they get a say in which type of infantry they would like join for example like armoured infantry or light infantry etc ?
The Lad You get your pick. You get 3 choices of your choosing, as long as you meet the standard you can go whatever. Specialisations are something you have to look at when you’re in of course.
You get three choices your first choice is the regiment you want to get into the most eg:the paras and choice three is the regiment you don't really want to get into eg: the rlc
Official guidance on the beret explains the headpiece "shall be worn evenly on the head, with the sweatband 2.5 cm above the eyebrows, the badge centered over the left eye, and the crown pulled downward to the right.
Heino Bezuidenhout the first week is just standing in queues or sitting in your rooms waiting to get all you stuff and signing and filling out paperwork which makes it drag sooo much
My Boyfriend is in the army doing his training, so seeing these helps me understand what he'll be up to. As well as miss him a little less

Are you referring to just in training or actually when you’re posted to a unit?
It depends on what barracks your in
Generally speaking, at your unit its individual rooms, single bed, but you can buy a double bed and personalise your room if you want etc
