  • I finally got a chance to test drive the all new e-power Note and I also found a dealer that doesn't know who I am so I made a short introduction to this refreshed fun little car.

    Beautiful curves on the outside, then classic japanese squareness on the interior. I need one of these👍😎😎

    Hey man can you help me, I am trying to change the push to start switch on one just like this but I cannot find a way to get to it, I am afraid that I may break something, if you could guide me I'll appreciate it.

      I'm sorry, I'm not really that familiar with the Note that much. I would recommend picking up some trim removal tools from your local auto parts store or Amazon and maybe going to Nissan to get a breakdown of the switch printed out for you. After that just take your time and don't worry about breaking any of the clips that hold the dash together, they are easy to get and cheap.

      That sounds awesome man! I'd love to hear your opinion on comparing a model 3 with a 40kWh Leaf after you've had it for a few months.

    Great car! Sorry about the mean comment on the DIRTH video. I am definitely a round Earther and I can get angry when science is ignored - great video today, I hope this car makes it over the ocean to Europe!

      No worries! I get it totally and I thank you for sticking with my channel after those DITRH videos!
      I think there might be a possibility that the new e-power note may show up over seas eventually because of one feature I forgot to mention in the video. This car has a bilingual menu as well as you can change the measurement units to miles or kilos!

    Interesting, however this will not be available in the UK, we are getting the Qashqai instead (small SUV), but please do not think these are EVs, they go zero miles without putting Gas in! Fortunately here in the UK we have lots of competing rapid charging suppliers so we do not suffer from the very silly prices charged in Japan, chargers up to 350kW are going to be everywhere in a few years time so we will be fine with the Ariya.

    • @ElectrifiedJourneys
      @ElectrifiedJourneys  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, sounds like the UK is taking EVs more seriously than Japan. We only have Tesla models S, X and 3, the Jaguar iPace and Nissan Leaf for EV choices. I also heard from a friend that works for Tesla over here that the Japanese government makes it very difficult for Tesla to put in a charging network.

    Use to be nice to own ev because it was cheaper... Now it's getting to a point where it's same price to buy gasoline... Sad... Only way to save is if you already made it in life and have solar roof installed... Lol... (Electric rates shot up a lot around me in Chicago last few years)

    • @ElectrifiedJourneys
      @ElectrifiedJourneys  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You nailed it brother, if you have solar panels and don't travel far too often, maybe then it's a good deal still.

    Needs to have a 20 kWh plug in battery for a 50 mile All Electric Range. Love my Volt...

    It looks pretty good. I wonder if it could be used as a base for a new Nissan leaf?

    • @ElectrifiedJourneys
      @ElectrifiedJourneys  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's wheel base is shorter than the Leaf's but maybe the next upgraded Leaf will get a similar interior. :)

    Great intro and video! Keep them coming 😀.
    Appears to be a great car at least for commuting. Wonder what the range would be when drivning at 110/120 kmh as we tend to do regulary here in Northen Europe.

    • @ElectrifiedJourneys
      @ElectrifiedJourneys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure but good question. I would guess close to a 200km decrease in range if that is the normal speeds for everyday driving.

      @@ElectrifiedJourneys That would be great.. Have to wait and see of it comes to Europe. The new Qashqai wirh e-Power will come here but that isn’t interesting for me.

    Great review, but am I missing something.... 10mins in and I still haven't heard what e-power is. You compare it to the Fit, which I thought was a 'traditional' hybrid, whereas the Note e-power is an EV that has a petrol engine generator.

    Have they started preorders for the Ariya in Japan yet. It's supposedly being released in Japan this Summer or is it closer to Autumn.

    • @ElectrifiedJourneys
      @ElectrifiedJourneys  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Michael, I just got back from Nissan and they don't have an exact date, but they are thinking August-September. It will also start at $50,000 over here so expect the 90kWh 4WD Ariya to be real close to a Tesla Model S or even an X with few options included. Still, Nissan has a really good track record with build quality with their EV's compared to Tesla so there's that. :)

    • @michaelseer
      @michaelseer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ElectrifiedJourneys thanks for that. European Ariya will have 22kw 3 phase charging if you get the larger battery. Will have a Renault motor that converts ac to dc for the battery. Lots of supermarkets and hotels have free chargers 22kw ac chargers that would allow you to drive pretty much free if your savvy enough.

    • @ElectrifiedJourneys
      @ElectrifiedJourneys  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelseer That sounds awesome. Over here in Japan we aren’t even close to 22kW and most of the “free charging” is gone now at most malls and shopping centers. We also only have at the most 50kW ChaDeMo chargers and they are beginning to charge high charging rates for those as well. I’m not sure how well the Ariya will sell over here because there just isn’t any good charging option for it in Japan. I still want one though, it’s pretty damn sick!
