Junk Journal July in Watercolor

- Today I'm sharing my start into Junk Journal July hosted by @megjournals . The difference is that I am working in the very interesting sketchbook called the Onion Skin Journal. It is made of onion skin paper and the effects of pen and ink and watercolor is just so incredibly intriguing to me. The challenge prompts are inspired by the vintage ephemera I collect which is how the "junk journal" comes into play. Join me inside my new sketchbook just for this experimental process and let's see what it can do. It is a great example of the Art of Practice.

What could be better than watercolor and vintage ephemera, a perfect combination. Thank you Kelly for sharing your art and teaching us how to see. There is so much beauty in the world. One of my favorite quotes is by Marcel Proust: ""The real voyage of discovery consists, not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." Thank you again for sharing. Also, I'm still enjoying your class, The Artist's Notebook. Even though I just do watercolor, I'm really learning a lot, including how to see. 😍
I love that quote Laura and it is the truth for sure! Artist Notebook is all about learning to see and trusting your intuition of design. It doesn't matter what medium you create in, it is all about finding the artist inside you and bring her out!
@@laurahale5774 Laura, Everyone collects something, and I collect inspirational quotes. Thank you for including Proust's quote in your comment.
You are so creative! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you and glad it inspired you!
Oh love it…….going to try…………
It is a great way to practice and if you don't like a prompt skip it, thanks for watching!
I love the little seed grows into big things. I'm thinking about painting a maple "helicopter" seed on a large sheet of watercolor paper. Great ideas!!
That is why I am always fascinated by seed pods because they contain the future. Yes to a large maple helicopter painting, there is a lot of beautiful detail in that seed!
this page is so beautiful ❤
Thank you, it was just so much fun to create a junk journal challenge this way!

Thank you so much! I collect vintage paper and love anything from France especially. It was fun to put it all together and was beautiful to create in.

So inspiring, as always. I’m intrigued to find your favourite book, but I can’t find it when I do an online search for it….. So looking forward to seeing more of your July project.
This was a title of a scrapbook paper that I used for my favorite book title, which is actually Velvet Pears a difficult book to find nowadays.
Your favorite book Vintage Artistry Memories. I cannot find. Could you link it or send a picture. Thank you.
