- Junkyard run for 2nd Gen Dodge Ram Parts we go to the pick and pay junk yard with cars and trucks to find a dual piston front brake caliper setup from a 2000 dodge ram 1500 that we can swap onto our 1997 Dodge ram1500 to improve the braking and also order some upgraded brake pads and rotors as well as some parts to mount the upper and lower control arms and spindles to our project truck

Would you consider getting a pair of black side mirrors from the U-Pull-it yard? Just to see how they look over the chrome ones. Typically, you don’t run much chrome on your builds so I’m interested to see what choices you are thinking of.

They were all pull your own when I was a kid..it was so weird to be stopped at the gate and asked what you specifically wanted and not allowed to go get it..😪..so many of my Saturdays as a young hotrodder were spent wandering through the junkyards for Pontiac parts

Thank god for you I’ve been wanting to do the same swap for a while now but I wasn’t sure how I would go about it I have all that sitting in my garage just waiting can’t wait to see how you accomplish this and so I can finally do it myself

Hey Jon pretty good deal on that stuff...I am pretty sure the upper control arm is the same unless it has the screw in ball joint but if it's the bolt in style they use to have a heavy duty (2500) and light duty (1500) upper ball joint for the 2wd if I remember correctly there was 2 different upper control arms in 99-2000 early manufacturing date and later when they switched to the duel piston caliper.....I could be wrong but I do know that replacing the upper bar bushings are a pain in the nuts! As to not spread or crush the ears on the control arm. On the a/c I know Napa use to make a/c lines so they may be able to make something up for you and do your self a favor and buy a new receiver dryer once you have the lines set up..... nothing better than doing burn outs with the windows up and a/c chilling.....I love the U-PULL yard years ago I would spend a whole Saturday walking through the salvage yards before the insurance company said no more......99%of the time I would go for one thing and leave with a bunch of stuff because I would come across it just looking around like a brand new alternator $25.00 brand new a/c compressor $40.00. now days some alternator's and AC compressors are 3-600 bucks and I would pull fuses, relays,bulbs I have a 5 gallon pail of fuses full. I got glass fuse's big chip,small chip and now the new micro fuses relays from pick ups to passenger cars all the different bulbs oh and the light sockets with and without pig tails all Mopar stuff of course...lol ... the price for bulbs, fuse's and relay's are unreal oh and tail gate bushings take every good one I find have a paint can full of them lol..oh and hardware and body clips yea I am a cheap mofo!... something you should think about brother 👍👌✌️

next junk yard run I could use some rear coil spring isolators for 09-18 ram 1500 4x4 please and thanks.. for when I convert my air suspension to the IHC 3/5 lowering kit. I'll pay shipping or send them home with Beetlejuice's sidekick to Canada :)

Also! You guys beat me at making this video I was going to make a video of how to upgrade your gen 2 front brakes, I did the same exact thing on my 1998 gen 2 ram 1500. I put in a complete front suspension from a 2000 gen 2 ram 1500. And the braking is way better. I have a 1998 ram 2500 cummins and I have everything to do the same upgrade

When the electric windows on the 4th gen Ram?
Man, I miss u-pull-it yards. Here in NC the rat bastards stopped doing that and the yards pull all the good stuff of the vehicles and sell them in their shop. Like, can't just pull a drive shaft for $50, no no, they already pulled it and will sell it to you for $250.
A lot of junk yards are now called auto salvage and the customer is no longer able to go out and salvage on their own.
Can you keep the 4WD with this swap?
Is that a 2000 ram that has a front bearing hub?
Ive tried the new style brake it wont work.. the upper control arm mounting hole are off by a lil and wont line up
Were you able to use the hubs though? Asking for self
