    The only thing I could think of looking at that cover is what's spawn's next move after landing on his cape? If he stands up the it's gonna choke him or pull him backwards.

      I was trying to figure out how long Spawn's thighs are to get his knees up around his ears. And what's up with that cape & how that wasn't going to work out well.

    Moore also did a cool little 4 issue comic called Spawn: Blood Feud. Spawn is costume-less the whole time and he fights a big vampire snake man!

    I remember trying to buy Spawn (live action) from a video store in Texas. I ended up accidentally buying an animated Spawn. It was the movie with Billy Kincaide. He drove an ice cream truck and left trash bags with kid parts in them in alleys. I learned so much about Spawn because I was so young I hadn't realized he was a comic book character with tons of adventures. Love Todd's work and everyone involved with all iterations. Thank you guys for covering this. 💚🖖🏼

    Keep these Spawn videos comin' guys, love 'em!
    I'd really like to see you take a run through all the different artists that have been brought in for runs, especially now with all the new Spawnverse series ongoing.

    The title of the story "In Heaven, everything is fine." I wonder if Alan Moore is barely watching David Lynch movies around this time or if he always knew about Eraserhead?

      Moore has always been a very vocal Lynch fan since the 80s, at least, expressedly mentioning in a couple of interviews that if he were to go back to writing books based on other people’s concepts, it would be Lynch’s TWIN PEAKS, so it’s probably safe to say he’s always known of Lynch’s work, especially ERASERHEAD. His take on Merrick/the Elephant Man is also seen in FROM HELL!

      @kauabarreto40 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He talked about Twin Peaks: The Return, and said that he had watched Twin Peaks before and formed a interpretation that he was happy with. So he watches the works of Lynch.

    24:25 If Alan Davis had drawn that final page; I'm sure there would have be 50 or 60 perfectly rendered and interestingly unique Spawn costumes on display.

    I know it's really late in coming, but I only here found out y'all were Eisner Award winners. Congratulations! Being even nominated is an incredible honor, but actually winning? Very cool! Of course I was impressed and have been enjoying y'all's channel here and eagerly waiting for each new video for about a year now, so knew the talent and deserving was tgere, but great to see y'all got recognition. Very cool.

    That title, "In Heaven (Everything is Fine)" is a reference to David Lynch's Eraserhead. That's the name of the song that the Lady in the Radiator sings.

I love the fact you guys do shows with little know creators what I would love to see you guys do is a piece on Fred Perry’s work and his book Gold Digger which he self publishes, draws, writes, inks, and letters on a monthly bases from Antarctic Press . Just thought I would mention it.

    Revisiting this comic is really bittersweet. I was 13 when this came out and loved Spawn but felt like it was art that was so beyond my level that it frustrated me for years. I’d try drawing panels from this and thinking it would take forever to learn. “If I can’t draw like Todd McFarlane then I just can’t draw”. I eventually expanded what comics I read as I got older and realized comics can be anything.
    I also think repeatedly re-drawing the overly-rendered cyclops lady on page 6 made me a lesbian. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Read Moore comics!

    I like this issue, but I always thought that it should have been issue five and the first appearance of billy, and just imply that he is a kiddykiller , ya just wonder like' what's up with this creep? And what spawn did to him that he has nightmares about him' and then the issue five story could have had a like a all different impact. And maybe even explore what the other characters did to be punished like that.
    Just a thought ya know

    In Heaven (Everything is fine) is a nod to David Lynch's Eraserhead where this song is a central part.

    I feel like Moore got into more sound territory when he pulled back away from deliberately imitating this style and worked on the Liefeld "Awesomeverse" titles, starting with Supreme and from there basically redesigning an entire line of books based on a lot of Liefeld's knock-off concepts. It stuck in his head enough to apply a similar plan to his ABC comics group.
