Hi Andrew. Our old rendered cottage has a black 1ft high skirt painted black. Presumably this is to mask any splashes/dirt from the ground. Question if you can help, is this skirt painted with ordinary masonry paint, or something special? Thanks for your help.
I wouldve finished it in plylite.....rubber hard finish and cures the algae aswell....I use it all the time on walls with algae...once ive used the fungal cleaner.....has never failed me yet and the algae hasnt come back
Hi mate I have a question I will paint by house exterior. I was doing some research about what paint to use. I came across emperor paint. Is it really as good as people say or what is your recommendation pls? Kind Regards
painting around Also deep-textured brick laid as coins are very scary cuz you know if you hit them with paint you better have on you within 30 seconds a very wet clean cloth are sponge, nice job.
Yes think it is better will be using sandtex on this job I've just started.. dulux is thinner without s doubt.. but only time will tell how it performs
need to use a silicone paint if it is but unless you know thats whats it is or been told its hard to tell can't just tell from texture plus monocouch is quite a new thing in U.K. or it is to me anyway
@@PaintingandDecorating thanks a mill mate appreciate that. Love your videos they've helped me so much . So thanks again for taking the time to make them .
Don't like retail masonry paints they havent got the opacity of real paint trade paint also going over filler to bleeds through most unless you spot primer lot of messing about when high up on ladders
Quality videos. U take your time and do it right. Miles better than slap it on candleman.
Thanks
Could you just power hose it first without fungcidal wash ? Or after fungacidal wash ,does it need to be power washed off? Thanks .
Always great, very informative videos. Thank you. Have learnt a lot from your detailed instruction and am enjoying my decorating work 😊
Thank you
That looks so much better! Satisfying job I bet.
Thanks and yes painting is very satisfying.
What method / product would you recommend for stripping paint from a rendered house which would keep the render in tact?

How long did the wash take to dry before you gave it the first coat mate?
Great bit of work - You've got the patience of a saint.
Thank you.

Why coat your house in rubber.

did you have to use any stabilation solution before painting love the video.
Thanks and no the surface was good.
Thanks mate just about to do this on my house so great timing. Can the protection for the windows be bought somewhere?
You can buy the plastic on rolls from your local decorating centre. Thanks
3:08 Pheasant heckler!
Great video! Am just about to paint some newly dried render, should I do mist coat or just bang it straight on?
You need to seal it first... diluted paint or diluted PVA.. make sure it soaks well in as this is the paint foundation. thanks
Stabilising solution and mist coat first
What would you recommended to remove green fungi from a wooden deck?
You can use this wash and scrub and then paint the decking.

What sleeves are they mate?
AWESOME
do you apply the fungicidal wash to the whole wall or only to the areas where there is visible algae?
Depends how large your area.. in my case it was generally all over so I did the whole wall.. thanks
Dulux weathershield on monocouch? No no.
need to use a silicone paint if it is but unless you know thats whats it is or been told its hard to tell can't just tell from texture plus monocouch is quite a new thing in U.K. or it is to me anyway
Where did you get the fungicidal wash from?
B&Q that but you can buy similar at the decorating center. Thanks
great job
Thank you.
Do you need to rinse the walls after fungicidal wash dries or just paint? Great video .
Usually just scrape any green off before and after and then phone no need to rinse.

What would you use if customer hadn't provided paint?
Sandtex or Dulux trade weather shield. thanks
Non trade paint ain’t meant to be stirred up
Don't like retail masonry paints they havent got the opacity of real paint trade paint also going over filler to bleeds through most unless you spot primer lot of messing about when high up on ladders
Bricks need to breathe, applying plastic might cause damp problems.
The paint is breathable, so hopefully no problems.
You can't paint krend it's a silicon Render paint won't stick to it. That'll peel off eventually
It's been painted before and no problem.. not sure they would design it so paint won't stick..
Weathertex water masonry is recommended for krend . It's on the decorators forum as best masonry paint same price as the rest
