I just ordered one of these for an upcoming egpu setup I'm going to try. Haven't found that perfect deal on a GPU yet but I have a few weeks. For your setup are you using the TB cable that came with the unit? I was thinking about looking for a longer TB4 or TB3 active cable so I can put the eGPU on the other side of my wall where I have my NAS, since the included cable looks very short

Awesome video! I have a p50 with m2000m and I just ordered a Razer Core and gonna put an rx580 in it. Not sure if all that is gonna work but I’ll be really happy if it does.

@@TechDave So the Razer Core came in, it’s a v1, apparently. I hooked up to my t470 running ChimeraOS and after allowing the thunderbolt connection settings I was able to play some psp games scaled up and looking pretty good on a monitor. Oddly enough my Dell RX580 shows up as a 480 but I’ve heard bout this. Next I connected to my t470 running windows 10… I couldn’t get this one to work. I kept getting an error that said something bout the thunderbolt experienced an error or something like that… I heard about this having to do with some error with the drivers or something that keeps flashing the thunderbolt chip until it’s destroyed. Finally I hooked it up to my P50 where everything was detected quickly and drivers were easily installed. AMD XConnect showed up and also installed Razer synapse to update the Core’s drivers. After setup I was able to play Fallout 76 at 45-60 fps depending on the amount of action. All in all I’m pretty happy to have the option to lug this along if I want to go to a friends house and play together. Now I just need some friends 😂😭🤣

thanks so much! i believe unless im mistaken the p50 only has thunderbolt, and you need thunderbolt 3 for the lenovo booststation, thanks for ur viewership x

Quite an upgrade with the Thunderbolt 3 port. You should install Afterburner and rivatuner to see CPU and GPU load and where a potential bottleneck is. That Lenovo Legion Boost is also larger than my whole gaming PC 😄

That's a great idea, I'm planning to do a "1 month later" or "is it a viable desktop replacement?" Type video once I've moved house, so I shall be sure to include them both!
      Ye I know, it's a proper chonk!
I'm planning to keep it off my desk, and a ton of other ideas in the new studio build! Thanks for the suggestions!

I know p52 dropped the magnesium shell and overall tank ready for war type build....and ya got the m2200m dGPU config... helll even that panel!
