Super super super light flywheel! If I remember the minimum weight for category is 2kg or something. They are incredibly light and let the engines rev up super snappy.

I am sure the Flywheel is Super Light.
But the response from the engine is due to many other factors ?
      To Many to list, LOL.
Definitely a Great video to watch for sure.

I have a feeling everything in this engine from the pistons, pins, rings, rods, crank etc would be pretty light compared to your typical street/strip engine.

The 8 throttle body setup and intake trumpet design will have alot to do with the way it revs plus with solid roller cams they love to rev like anything plus correct me if im wrong but didn't the engines back then, they didn't have a minimum weight amount for the rotating assembly etc

Having run a dry sumped Chev Sports Sedan is used to crank oil pressure up by hand. Turn the pump for about 30 seconds. Then to start crank the engine until oil pressure shows about 60 lbs then turn the ignition on.
Using synthetic I never had oiling issues. This a 12-1 358 engine.

@@perkinsengineering do you really rebuild an engine after every race weekend is over?

Is the engine originating from a road-going car? I’d like to know if the cylinder heads are designed by an aftermarket brand “off the shelf” or 100% proprietary design? By the looks of the wide valve covers, it looks similar to a nascar cylinder head

Jack, what was the gear and belt on the steering column for?

Saw that and wondered the same thing, wonder if it's not to measure the steering input/angle?

It’s for the steering potentiometer so the data ca record steering wheel movement from the driver 👍
