There’s a bunch of cross-pollination here and in in their futures. This is a Roy Harper song that Kate did as a duet with Peter for the special. Peter and Kate were kindred artists and fans of each other’s talent. Kate did backing vocals on Peter’s Games Without Frontiers, and of course they did the incredibly emotional duet of Don’t Give Up. Roy Harper isn’t well known nowadays but he was a talented singer-songwriter and finger style acoustic guitarist that gained many accolades especially by his contemporaries. David Gilmour came across Roy when doing a festival with Pink Floyd in Hyde Park in the late 60s. Roy would eventually save the vocal recording session for Pink Floyd’s Have A Cigar by stepping into the lead vocal role when they weren’t working well during the sessions. And that leads to a very interesting collaboration between Kate Bush, David Gilmour, and Roy Harper on Roy & David’s haunting song You. David did many guitar sessions for Kate on her albums, and even played a live version of Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) when Kate performed it live on an Amnesty fundraising special.
Great reaction to this cover of a Roy Harper song. They did a few collaborations, please react to their video for "Don't Give Up", I promise you won't be disappointed.
Their voices are stunning on this and so expressive.

For me, Peter is the God and Kate is the Goddess of music. Adore them both.
You probably know it, her duet with him on "Don't Give Up" is a minor masterpiece.
Only a minor masterpiece?
Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel are possibly the two most creative artists in British music. I would love to see what they could create today.
Not just British music , my friend ...in music period ! :)
Hear Kate on 2 great tracks on Peter Gabriel 3 ( Melty ) Games Without Frontiers & No Self Control .
Great song written by Roy harper, his original is brilliant
Haunting!
Both of these artists are amazing. FYO, they were lovers at the time. ( That Peter Gabriel is one lucky b'stard 😂)
He certainly is !!!
A great cover of a Roy Harper song, there was a possibility that it would be released as a single, but unfortunately, it never happened.

It's about lost moments and not expressing your feelings and losing what you could have, if you had expressed them.

OK ! Not heard this for ages ! Tis a bit of a downer ! but done brilliantly . If that makes sense
I prefer This Mortal Coils version (with Liz Fraser singing)
I'm not a fan of either of them, I'm still having nightmares about Peter Gabriel and pizza, 🏴✌️
Peter is great. I don't mind Kate, she has had song great songs, but I'm not a massive fan.
Sure she's super sad about that.... 1.3 billion streams later...
Not you're cup of tea then!
At the risk of dumbing it down, it sounds like it's about two ex-lovers hooking up for old-times sake.
