To quickly clarify a point made in the video, I am aware that Shrek SuperSlam's gameplay is more like the Power Stone games than it is like Super Smash Bros. However, as I said in the video, I went with saying it was like a 3D Smash Bros for the sake of making it easy for everyone to quickly follow along with what the gameplay is like (since Power Stone isn't super widely known nowadays).
That said, I will admit in hindsight, I should've at least mentioned Power Stone regardless. My bad.

There is literally a TREASURE TROVE of obscure video games out there, we need to make a mission to give these games the spotlight that they deserve, because some of them can be hidden gems.

Like Kya: Dark Lineage and Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars.
Attention to (relatively) more modern games would be welcome too, such as for No Straight Roads, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos (and most stuff by ACE Team), Charlie Murder and The Dishwasher gamees (and most stuff by Ska Studios), and Soulstice and the upcoming Cookie Cutter.
Even if some titles have rougher parts to them, they can still be generally good times and have things to offer that make them interesting and worth remembering.

Interesting coincidence but literally the day this video came out, my brothers and I were playing Ribbitking and my brother managed to get 1,000 points in one turn without going into the hole. Ribbitking is ABSOLUTELY insane and satisfying when you do it right. And like you said, often ENTIRELY on accident. A while ago, my brother and I lost to a family friend who had never played the game before and he didn’t even TRY to go for bonus points XD

Ribbit King is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. It has the perfect golden ratio of quirky charm and wtf moments (and the most beautiful part), the amount of jankyness. It makes for some of the most fun/wild gaming experiences I've had in my life. (Its a life goal of mine to start a competitive scene for it)
Its also a game that Ive shared with Jocks who only play COD/Madden, Non-gamers, hardcore gamers, people who only play simulator games, MMORPG's etc etc etc, and literally everyone from any background who plays this game is immediately is on board, drawn in and wants to keep paying it over and over and over again.

Wario World was my jam! When my cousin Roshan bought it for his GameCube, we were having a blast beating down enemies, grabbing money with Wario's mouth and saving spritelings who resemble Toon Link... to a degree. It's definitely a Wah-nderful time, and definitely deserves to have a Switch remaster.
Also, you're probably the only person to not dunk on Cars 1 and 3. Certainly much better than CellSpex and Caddicarus... not that their minds need to be changed or anything...

I remember when I was like 8, my dad and I went to a thrift store. There I found a copy of DDR Mario Mix, and my dad bought it for me. We realized quickly that I needed the dance mat for it to play properly. For some reason I was convinced that I’d find the missing dance mat at a different nearby thrift store. My dad told me that it really wasn’t likely to happen considering it’s rarity. But lo and behold, IT WAS THERE! THE MARIO ONE!!! We were both overjoyed to find it, and I subsequently beat the game when I got home. Great memories.

    1. Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix has some bops and nostalgia for me.
    2. Honestly never heard of it. Looks really unique.
    3. I remember seeing it in store once, and I think there was a print ad? Very edge
    4. I feel like this and the first movie were made with heart and care, and everything else is milking the franchise.
    5. To be fair I've never really seen or heard of this. And good licensed games get lost in the sauce.
    6. It's a shame that such a unique game is so hard to get now. And it's very unlikely to get a port.....then again who knows.

Honestly, DDR Did take off in the Early 2000's, but is having a bit of a Renaissance right now following the Release of DDR A in 2016.
Fast-Forward to 2023, and DDR A3 is the Latest in the Series, with BABYLON'S GALAXY ADVENTURE now being a front-and-center event in the Game where Another Level 19 Chart (The Hardest Level of Difficulty in the Game) was shown as an ENCORE EXTRA STAGE, using the FLARE IX and EX Gauge.

This is the first video of yours I watched, just happened to come up on TH-cam recommendations, and as a GameCube fan, my interest was piqued. Your voice sounded very nice, I like the avatar design and it was a cool selection of lesser-discussed titles. I've watched Ribbit King before but didn't know it was on the PS2! I played Cars the Video Game as a kid and I can attest to how fun the open-world driving was. In fact, after I got a GameCube dance pad this year, I attempted to play the Guido pit-stop minigame again for a fun challenge - only to find the dance pad doesn't have certain GameCube controls available like bumpers or joysticks, so despite the random arrangements, I still needed a basic controller. I still have to play through DDR Mario after picking it up a few months ago but looking forward to it!

Came for a video on Gamecube games, which I've never played on, ended up being smacked by a nice bit of nostalgia. I remember when I was really young playing Shrek super slam and the Cars video game on the Xbox at a playscheme with the people I met at the time. The video bought back a number of fun memories and made me think of other obscure games like it, like I remember there was a Kung Fu Panda game that functioned similarly to Super Slam and I remember I owned Cars for the Nintendo DS which is a console that offers a treasure trove of hidden gems. I excitedly await the multiplayer videos, I really loved the Crash Bash one!

Bro, I love the GameCube. Easily one of my favorite consoles of all time and although I don’t have the biggest GameCube Collection due to how expensive it is, that doesn’t change the fact that the systems library is one of the most unique libraries for any system.
Two Obscure GameCube Games I recommend: Custom Robo is an awesome 3D Arena Fighter / JRPG that’s one of a kind in its own right and Cubivore Survival of the Fittest which is easily one of the weirdest games I’ve ever played which sadly does impact it’s price as it’s very rare and expensive. Fun Fact: I actually got Cubivore as a gift from a huge friend of mine.

Even if you don't continue playing Vexx, i'd recommend looking up more of what the game has to other via secondary sources, like videos on YT-- as well as the soundtrack. Though i'm not the biggest fan of Vexx myself, i think it does have a decent amount of creativity and atmosphere to it. Which does make it all the more a pity that it wasn't able to be all it wanted to be.
Oh, and a thing that may be interesting from the combat perspective: I'd say the Astani War Talons are more useful as platforming tools rather than fighting ones. You showcased the uppercut, flash kick and downwards blast, and those can all have a utility on the platforming front by way of a higher jump (Uppercut) and retaining air time (Flash kick and downwards blast).
Also that one leap powered by an energy blast.
In a way, the War Talons are like the F.L.U.D.D. of Vexx, being a tool that grants you quite a bit more traversal options than you would have with your base self. But because you're never in a position where the Talons can't be used, the player will never really stand still at the options they provide.
I'd love for you to one day have a look at Kya: Dark Lineage, it's a 3D action platformer with art direction like Rayman 2 and 3, a number of different external forms of platforming and parkouring (board sliding, animal riding, wind gliding etc) because the main character is only human, and probably one of the most in-depth combat systems for a 3D platformer type games i've ever seen.
In combat it plays more like a fighting game or beat-em-up in a way. You start out with some basic combos like a double low-hitting kick, three-hit punch that ends in an uppercut, low kick leading into an uppercut that ends in kicking an opponent straight away, and some others.
But later you get improved kick combos like leg sweeps, a double backflip/flash kick and some others, as well as different grabs based on your position relative to the enemy, and even the ability to jump over and onto enemies to ride them into their allies.
It's got its rough parts like any game, but still a solid time. For how little known it is, it very much deserves more attention.
Also: on the YT channel of Eden Games, the dev studio, there has recently been a live stream to commemorate the 20 year anniversary.
All that said, very fun video and thank you for having made the time to make it. Wish you and anyone who reads this happy holidays (amidst all the hecticness that they bring), a good new year in advance, and will be keeping my eye out for more videos.

It is a bit of a stretch to say the Cars game is obscure, but I imagine some people when they played it were surprised that it didn't follow the movie like some would probably expect since a lot of movie tie-ins tended to follow the plot of the films they're based on, off the top of my head the games I know of that don't follow the plots of the films they're based on are the following:
    - Over the Hedge (specifically on consoles and PC)
    - The Amazing Spider-Man
    - Madagascar (kinda, it follows the general plot but Toys for Bob had a lot of creative freedom to do whatever they want)
    - Looney Tunes: Back in Action (it is similar in some plot-beats and uses locations from the film, but it tells the story very differently)
    - Iron Man 2
    - Ghost Rider
    - Jimmy Neutron: Jet Fusion (okay, technically it's a TV Special but still it counts since the plot is different across both)

Man most of these games I remember fondly. I played Mario Dance Revolution for Christmas and it was a blast. So much so I got to Super Hard and well gave up after that and just went with Very Hard to get the cardio going.
Wario World I also loved because I wanted to see how fast I can beat the game without glitches or bugs. Plus the bosses were fun. And I only played Shrek Super Slam a couple of times and never knew there was a Competitive scene. Why?
Aside from that there was one more game that's obscure and hope it comes back someday. Custom Robo Battle Revolution. Had a fun story, the custom robos were awesome, and I love the weapon selection.

You actually forgot something major regarding Wario World.
Whenever you fall into a bottomless pit, you wind up going to an area called the Unithorn's Lair. From there, you need to find a spring that'll bring you back to the main level. However, if one of the titular Unithorns catches you (or you jump into the water in their lair), you lose coins.
And since you need coins in order to continue should you get a Game Over, that's no good.

Fun watch. Makes me think of some of the obscure GameCube games I had:
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Game: The other SpongeBob 3D Platformer by Heavy Iron Studio. Didn’t get BFBB until later in life but this one also had a lot of that charm and fun platforming.
Pac-Man Fever: A Pac-Man themed party game. Kinda. The cast was him, Ms. Pac-Man, some guy from Soulcalibur, another guy from Tekken, the Ridge Racer girl, and there might have been someone else from Tekken that I don’t remember? Either way, it was the poor man’s Mario Party. Would not recommend.
TY 2 Bush Rescue: Never played the original TY the Tasmanian Tiger, but this game more than sufficed. Fun Boomerang combat, cool Australian-themed overworld, a fun gem all things considered.

When it comes to the more obscure GameCube titles the number one that comes to mind for me (and my second favourite game of all time) is Gotcha Force. It's basically Virtual On meets Pokemon and it's a blast. The voice acting is...hilariously bad but luckily you only need to deal with it in story mode. The real fun comes with the multiplayer. My friends and I spent so much time battling each other. Of course if you want a copy now, you will need to break the bank since it goes for like 400 bucks. If only Capcom could bring it back with either a remaster with online play or a full on sequel.

    Skies of Arcadia legends.
Despite the fact, this is a game that originally came out for the Dreamcast.
It was fortunately given a port to the game cube with new stuff added in.
And it’s a game that I love and I feel like it doesn’t get nearly the attention. I think it should especially considering it’s a one and done when it could very well have been a franchise on the level of FINAL FANTASY.

I’d say Cars is more fitting for the list than Wario World or Mario DDR. Not to say those aren’t on the more obscure side for Mario related games, just that a Mario game period is more easily discoverable since Mario. He’s like Mickey Mouse with more mushrooms and lasagna.
Very fun video, though, well worth the wait. And absolutely was blindsided by Ribbit King, saved the best of the obscurity for last.

The GameCube was my childhood and all the games i played in it were my favorite which were Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Mario Strikers, Starfox Assault, Marvel Nemesis Rise of the Imperfects, NickToons Unite, Spongebob Squarepants Lights, Camera, Pants!, Scooby Doo Unmasked, Madden 06, Madagascar, Shrek 2, The Legend of Spyro A New Beginning, and Sonic The Hedgehog Gem Collection. All of those games were so fun for me to play on the GameCube but the games that I haven't played and that I want to play are Kirby Air Ride, Luigi's Mansion, and the four Mario Party Games on the GameCube which are Mario Party 4, 5, 6, and 7. But hopefully I'll get to play those games if Nintendo did add the Nintendo GameCube Library on the Nintendo Switch Online which would be cool to see Nintendo do. But yeah the GameCube was a pretty good console and the games from it I played in my childhood and I'll always play those games no matter what!

One game I have that may count as an obscure game is Second Sight. While it was also on Xbox and PS2, it's a serviceable Gamecube port as well. In fact, some sources say it's a on par with the others versions, if not a bit better. I guess it's no surprise, since developer Free Radical made Timesplitters 2 work on it.
So the premise is about an operation involving parapsychologist John Vattic, who must uncover his lost memories while covertly making his way through enemy facilities. Psychic powers sound like they'd be pretty nice to have in concept, but Second Sight shows that they could be quite the headache if they go wrong. Quite literally, since Vattic gets a huge headache basically whenever a new power is introduced. But they are necessary for possessing guards, turning invisible to them, and survive in other ways. Early on in the game you can even intimidate guards with your strange abilities. And telekenesis is also used for some easy puzzles. Just try not to overtax your abilities, cause it'll leave you vulnerable for a moment.
Good thing Vattic is also good with guns, cause even psychics benefit from military training. The gunplay also works similarly to Everything or Nothing, if you also remember that game. Lock on to targets and aim a crosshair to wherever you want on the enemy. A quick acting headshot, or right into the... err... kneecap. Just remember that a covert approach is the most viable option and in some cases is required. One can also interrogate some people within the levels for information on the facilities' security.
In terms of story, it switches between flashbacks and present day as the mysteries are uncovered over the course of the game. But you may end up noticing things are not what they seem to be in the present. Funnily enough, though, failing objectives or messing around in the flashbacks can sometimes trigger some non standard game overs. Though regardless of which era you are in, the voice acting is pretty entertainingly hokey. I think it's most comparable to House of the Dead 3, and surprisingly, the music is comparable to... let's say Silent Hill 2, being both eerie and memorable. That's to say I quite enjoy the music in itself.
I know Free Radical went under due to Haze, but I still hope it's ported to modern consoles because it could sure use more attention.

Wish I had the Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix title when I was younger. Though let's just say, if Nintendo has forgotten that Waluigi was the main antagonist in a Mario title, then not including him as a Smash Ultimate fighter is even more inexcusable. Nintendo really needs to give him more central attention.
