I find it funny how in Chocobo Racing, Cactuar is one of the slowest characters...yet in mario sports mix he's one of the most broken characters in the game cause of his immense speed (especially in hockey)

i mean, in most FF games Cactuar's whole thing is being evasive as fuck. In FF6 you pretty much need to use something that bypasses accuracy like Edgar's Tools or Cyan's Bushido. and in FFX good luck hitting them without Aim or Wakka

I was gonna ask who's your favorite character in chocobo racing but then I remembered your Black Mage Benjamin of course your favorite is Black Mage
I love how Cactuar is one of the slowest characters in Chocobo Racing and yet is the fastest character in Mario Sports Mix, his speed goes above the max point on the meter, which is where Toad is iirc, and that meter is red instead of yellow like it is for everyone else (though I’ve never played a game with Cactuar in it so I don’t know which is accurate lol)
Fun fact about Modnation Racers, lead character and prop designer, Jesse Hernandez, he co-created the infamous tv show known as The Nutshack.
Even though it’s not obscure at all, I wouldn’t mind you covering Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart sometime. Maybe in a future video.
Also if we get another Final Fantasy racer and they have characters from Final Fantasy 7, they should have Aerith and Zack appear as ghosts.

Literally EVERY review I've seen of the game just bash it as an "unoriginal" mario kart clone with "bad controls", and as a game I played tons when I was younger and even recently... No, ffs. Hell no.

It was literally one of the first racing games I've ever played, it was either that, South Park Rally on the PS1, or Crash Nitro Kart on the GameCube that was my first racing game
Popping back one last time to mention that you got me to try out Super Indie Kart. Can definitely attest to the issues with rubber banding. I did also notice a weird drifting issue where it would occasionally send me in the absolute opposite direction that i was aiming. But it was still fun and I really can't wait to see what they add to it.

I can't believe you didn't talk about the ost from chocobo racing when you complete the story mode. That song always got me right in the feel
May I make a couple suggestions for a future obscure series? If you ever wind up doing Obscure 3D Platformers, definitely check out "Ty The Tasmanian Tiger" from the 6th console generation (i.e. GCN, PS2, and Xbox) and the "Chameleon Twist" duology on the N64. Meanwhile, all I could think of when I saw "Action Girlz Racing" was Dan from Game Grumps losing his mind over how BAD it was! XD
I think it's kinda ironic that "Freedom Planet" would be featured in an indie-themed kart racing game that appears to be in low quality while still being under development at the time of this video being made, since it happens to be one of the best indie games I've ever played, and it deserves to be treated more like a mainstream game title due to its gameplay quality, stylish 16-bit graphics, excellent soundtrack, and cast of appealing characters.
Now that I know about Chocobo Racing, there are now two ways that RPGs and racing games. A racing game with an RPG aesthetic and a racing game with RPG elements/progression like Gran Turismo.
If you want a suggestion, there is Blur which is an amazing mix of arcade and kart racing tropes.

Fun fact: I am rpetty sure Chocobo racing was not only my second or third ever final fantasy game ever, but it was the game that actually introduced me to chocobos, moogles, behemoths (which I pronounced Bay-hah-moth), white mage, black mages, etc

Did you know that there's a Chocobo's dungeon game? I remember it from a Club Nintendo magazine (Club Nintendo was Latin America's version of Nintendo Power) but I never knew what was of it....
You mean the ds one because apparently that wasn't localized there is an English patch for it but the patch isn't complete

I kind of hope in an Obscure Kart Racers 4 video that you cover Muppet Race Mania. It's a racing game on the PlayStation 1 that features tracks based on every Muppet movie that was out at the time, and it has its own comprehensive Adventure mode. And the content is quite plentiful! 25 playable characters, 34 race tracks, Statler and Waldorf cracking jokes at the beginning and start of every race, that may be the most pleasant surprise of a kart racing game I've played.
I find it funny that in chokobo racing ,cactuar is on of the slowest characters in the game, but in Mario sports mix, (which has a white and black mage, a ninja and moogle, as well as king behemoth as a boss) he’s the fastest character in the game, and has a broken ability as well.
I swear, during the Crazy Frog bit I was thinking "did Tennings just dump on this game for the sake of it?" Only to hear you mention that this was the reskin. From what I remember, you definitely dodged a bullet there, the original was nearly unplayable from what I saw.
Nice lineup of games. Have had Indie Kart in my line of sight for a while so maybe I'll check it out soon.
Also, having lived in the UK, I knew of Crazy Frog Arcade Racing as Crazy Frog Racing 2. My parents never got it for me. In retrospect, I thank them.

I don't know if you'll see this but a rather good obscure racing game is inertial drift I don't think it qualifies as a cart racer but it's real good and deserves some recognition.

2005 was a dark time for Europe and Australia because of that thing! I never liked that frog or that Axel F remix. I was lucky to even find an Axel F remix on Limewire that wasn't based on Crazy Frog!

Opening: Cool intro.... Kind of bumbed you didn't use masive explotion like before... I always loved that. But anyways. Your right bro this WAS BOUNT TO HAPPEN, and it has happened! Well LET'S GO!
1: Interesting game, kind of surprised it's an early access game, and, how creative the tracks are.. Like DANG THAT'S AWESOME!... Would be cool to try.... Though honestly I hope they add characters and tracks from one of my all time favorite indie games, Undertale... SERIOUSLY WHY WOULDN'T ANYONE PUT THEM IN!?..... Anyways.

Interesting game. It does have charm to it, and interesting item line up.... Machine guns in a kart racer of all things.... My goodness! Well that's really creative, the items in the game I mean.
The drifting.... Surprised me because I think I forgot if you brought that up in the other kart racer videos, did sound cool, giving the idea of, you need to trust and hope you mad a good character/kart line up to handle a turn like this... I don't know THAT'S just me, would be cool to see this idea tweeked and cool to use in a kart racer.
Not fully sure if I'll get the game honestly, just not interested, other games taking priority and all..... And I'm a Dog person sooooo........ MOVING ON. (Though that doesn't mean I would never get and/or play the game because of that, just joking.)

The graphics in the cutscenes look like claymation style, or something design like in yoshis story or something like that, it's cute I love it though the opening reminded me of...a kirby game opening...64 game....i think, don't fully remember but ALL the graphics look good, and yes it's not a true square Enix game if there wasn't deep lore within it's story, and lol awesome humor...and find it funny the bully moogle becomes the beaten up comic relief of this adventure, it's pretty cool. Pretty cool game, and it does look fun, WAIT SWUAL IS IN TOO? Cool. DANG the characters you unlock are interesting.
Does look like a fun game and I would love to play it if I ever can.. Probably never by the price and the fact I don't own a ps1 but eh whatever.
And who knows if a sequel will come, but I'D be down for that too!

Silver and I didn't make our avatar poses, our friend Yuki did. And while yes, they were heavily based on the reference images we provided her, they weren't outright traced.

Though if you're looking for some obscure kart racers in case you need something to review and you're blanking on what you could do, I'd suggest Ben 10 Galactic Racing and Mega Man Battle & Chase, the latter of which is available in the Mega Man X Collection

Omg I actually remember playing the original Crazy Frog racer back in the day (cause I live in Scotland) and I can honestly say it wasn’t that good. I don’t remember getting far in the game cause the A.I was horrendous and the controls were unresponsive most of the time so I think you dodged a bullet there.
Super indie kart is my favorite kart racer
So about Super Indie Karts, the really early stages of development it had a Ouya version alongside a playable character called Sparkie the Ouya. It was later removed in the Steam ver in the early builds cause most people might know the history of the Ouya.

@@BenjaMage It was like 5 years ago but there's is footage of it in a Super Best Friends video of them playing the game but it's some of them trashing the Ouya and the game. I got the game around that time when the dev added Juan Aguacate and the Triangle Cup.

When you paused in the middle of the Crazy frog segment, I was expecting it to be extremely pointless like when that weird guy interrupted Joshscorcher's Very Minty Christmas review to go on for an entire minute about something about voice actors. I literally skip that part every time I watch that review, and I was worried this would be just like that, but thankfully it wasn't.

You know, seeing the first Chobobo Racing here, I advise you to try out the Chocobo GP game. Point wise: it is a fun game. Bad points that they do spam attacks and some characters have to be earned by battle pass.
Nice roster of the third set of those random kart racers and at least you finally talk about Freedom Planet..... in a crossover game. XD I should try Indie racer that one day.
