It was done very quickly, so please try to thank them for their hard work. I took the liberty of editing some of the lines to sound smoother in English.
Thread by another Milgram fan on correct system terminology to use during the trial: x.com/featherl...
I don’t claim to support Milgram’s portrayal of someone with DID and this upload is just to provide fan content that wouldn’t be available otherwise. I encourage listening to those who have DID or are well educated on it if you aim to discern whether or not this is a moral depiction.
Hello, ac here (I finally changed my channel name!! It's no longer a c with a space!). I finished this later than I expected to and I'm pretty tired. Even though it was short, this one was more work than usual, so I'm glad to be done, and to be able to post it at the same time as the actual MV. I mentioned being sick when Amane's MV released- I'm still sick. It turned out to be the start of something a lot worse and more persistent than I thought. I'm hanging in there, though! I'll be happy as long as I'm back in shape by Kotoko's.
I think Kazui and Amane's investigation questions finished today (or maybe tomorrow) but those are lower priorities than MVs so it might be a week or so, depending on how I feel. Thank you for your patience.
And thank you to Twitter user "silent hill themed marijuana dispensary" for posting screenshots from my videos and getting a lot of likes on them. It's always a jumpscare when I see them on my TL.
    Voice Actors:
    Es: Amami Yurina
    Mikoto: Hanae Natsuki

This one ended up being the most challenging of the voice dramas I’ve done so far. You might’ve caught it even if you don’t know how people refer to themselves in Japanese, but basically Mikoto and John are using two separate pronouns to refer to themselves, “boku” (Mikoto) and “ore” (John).
There’s no English equivalent of this, as we only say “I”. I thought about how to handle this for a while but eventually decided on color coding, as it maintains the use of first person whilst separating the two identities.
If it’s too confusing, I’ll settle for them referring to each other in third person the following trial, but I imagine it’s not the easiest to digest in Japanese either. That’ll be easier on me as an editor anyways, as Sony Vegas doesn’t like multi-colored text… lmao. Thanks for your support as always.

I thought it was very clever, and I like that it’s more accurate! However, if it’s too much work and you don’t want to do it, I think we’ll be fine with using third person.

I agree it's a hard choice between the two options. It's hard to portray the specific Japanese meaning clearly either way.
But maybe it'd be less confusing if you used names when referring to whichever personality is not active. Like how people with DID would refer to their alters in English?

Since "which alter did it" matters in a system's morals, it's good to judge them by viewing this from John & Mikoto's understanding of themselves.
Both of them want to be forgiven, because in an extent, it would affect both of their lives-- whatever remains of it after Milgram.
The thing is, this wasn't a convenience for the perpetrator to escape the law. It's an instinct that he carried from who knows when. They're reacting to it out of the fear of death sentence.
While judging, you will face the emotional burden they're carrying and the relationship they have in the system.
The current media frames John as "this punchbag who's gonna take the blame". But from here we can go with different paths in finding "who to forgive".
**Ultimately, we must understand the defense mechanism that comes with DID. **
✨Stress forms, someone is built. When was the trigger? Before or after the murder, that caused John to be formed?
✨Since when did Mikoto have this condition? The older you are, sometimes the better control you'd have.
✨The border between John and Mikoto's emotions (not memories, they don't even need to be connected/emphasized separately), can be seen flooding onto each other during the phone call with their mother. But if there ARE linking emotions, then there's still possibility of their memories being shared.
I said the memories don't matter because it's part of their instinct, and we'll help the perpetrator open up if we listen to their narrative.
Signs of DID show up from childhood to adolescence after a traumatic event/stressor, but the age rance is still highly debated in plural communities. DSM-5 says it onsets from 5-10yo, with alters starting to appear as early as 6yo-- As reference, you'd be labeled with PTSD and Anxiety if you've had symptoms for at least 6 months. There are also different labels of dissociative disorders where someone doesn't fulfill all the criteria in DID. (eg. OSDD1a & 1b, Dissociative Fugue, Derealization, Maladaptive Daydreaming and others. Correct me on this.)
Some "usual" DID things I relate to in the subbed voice drama:
✨Mikoto, going with his "usual protocol" of engaging in normal conversation, always laughs and shrugs off the possibility of remembering events before he fronts. Even immediately bridges the memory gap by trying to talk about dogs with Es.
✨John floods into Mikoto, disrupting his protocol, when it gets too stressful to talk. (This is a normal function of alters, because Mikoto is unable to process the anger by himself. Literally incapacitated to feel the burden, as the split was made to do.)
✨Both Mikoto and John are aware of their DID being subject of scrutiny, and both have low self-esteem about their own existences. As if seeing oneself as "a phony", "I shouldn't have existed", is a way to regain humility of sorts, but also to state, "We know. we are not exempt from consequences."
    Other funny facts:
✨The side effect of MILGRAM may cause the inability to hide anything in their MVs, whereas in real life, their actions may be far more contained. Frequent switching mid-song, so that Mikoto's memories don't fully spill out. Mikoto/John already had distrust/resent to Es-- to an extent, the audience. They knew they were seen as guilty even before being voted on, Mikoto forcing his smiles & "I'm not guilty" statements, even John bluffed and taunted about "hurting" us in MeMe if we don't vote them INNOCENT. And now they're doubling down.
✨The Tarot numbers, mannequins and cards may indicate there were other punchbags before the current Mikoto and John. Could even say that's the signature of their Inner World.
✨Mikoto says he is unaware of John, but the way Mikoto and John are portrayed in the MVs convince me otherwise. He is at least aware that there's something in his reflection, even running away from it in some cases. Thus, he's at least aware of John being there. If you've had it, you WILL know it isn't sleepwalking. One way or another, you're just denying it.
So, the concept of an 'alter' is so abstract, that It's only a thin line between the alter doing all of it... or bad memories and actions have been done by the host, and was transferred to somebody new.
There's also the factor that, if you've perpetuated oneself as being a system for so long, it would actually be harder to recover. You'd be used to functioning as fragments, some people don't even have integration as their goal in therapy. You'd also be convinced that your memories have gaps in them, if for instance, something didn't fit your role. They'd work things out between the alters to regain a better semblance of a normal life.
If you want to judge simply for the crime, then the details are conveniently missing for narrative purposes. They WANT us to debate about Mikoto being a DID system. We don't know where the murder took place, who these "annoying people" are (John says he just killed random people he saw that happened to be there), the chronology, and other story-related connections with Mikoto. He could be in, let's say, an alleyway or dangerous environment filled with thugs. Or he could have been stuck in debt/poverty. A lot of factors, really. It isn't like the other cast, where the victims are all narrowed down to certain groups of individuals.
I choose Forgive, despite of knowing these symptoms and where they lead, simply because I empathize with Mikoto as a DID patient. I want to see the end of his(their) story and appreciate another stellar portrayal of DID in Japanese media-- even if he does turn out to be Guilty in Season 3. I think the writers and translators gave much needed room for discussion, and a sympathetic light to DID; despite of Mikoto's role as a murderer, they know what they're doing with John's role, and provide a neutral voice through Es's explanation.
Lastly this is OUR opinion. It probably can't voice the experiences & thoughts of other systems, and we won't try to do that. So come around and voice your own!
(PS: I've been diagnosed & got treatment for symptoms related to DID. But it wouldn't be convenient to spread the related documents lol)

      PV reaction of 2nd song:
these guys like to place hands anywhere near mikoto's head. possibly a sign of planned switching?? like the one in MeMe, he points his head. glitch/montages on the screen may also indicate switching without IRL visual indicators.
the one on the phone is his boss (Chief). something about "Come here already" and "getting the job done" and "good morning", which causes john to switch in, then mikoto briefly switches back with eyes closed.
next we saw john already battering up people in the same cart as him(them).
second one on the phone is his mom, calling right after john finished the deed, triggering mikoto to switch in and answer her. thats how he was shown aware about the murder in the first place, but that could be for dramatic effect.
then he tries to run to the next cart with bloodstains all over, which ofc makes him look sus. under stress he switches back to john, and then kills everyone on sight.
id say john is telling the truth for the murder inside this train; HE did it. but what abt the first song?

      Voice drama reaction:
      - These guys are co-fronting, deadass. Mikoto tried to mask it but John switched as the speaker at 2:30
OR that the whole time it was John talking, Mikoto was only co conscious because he's scared 😂 I mean who reacts like that in chains??? "Oh no pls take em off" "You'd chain someone who can't hurt a fly" I call CAP!!! If I was in chains when I switched back, I'd scream in 4 separate octaves 💀💀💀
btw do you know how hard it is to read someone's actual switches, if you even caught them at all? It's usually subtle indicators like a slight voice change, choice of words, body movements. meanwhile, all we have is his voice. 😂
in fact sometimes we display our switches to help the conversation partner/therapist understand us, but other than that... there's not much benefit in distinguishing our presence.
      - Apart from the Ore and Boku, you can kind of figure out instances of the VA trying to sound nonchalant when reading John's lines. 💕 Not as cool as Oscar Isaac, but highly commendable!!
      - John is telling the viewers in 5:06, his presence isn't normal. "Mikoto is trying to disappear". And since the first trial, it means John, as an alter, was "solidified" under the pressure while staying in MILGRAM.
      - I feel as if Mikoto flooded in at 6:05, because Es showed his knowledge and expressed concern about DID, making him open up about John's conception. John briefly returns at 6:22, to complain about being in MILGRAM. But after that, it's like they were too self aware of each other, they withdraw and refer to the situation in a 3rd POV. Back at John at 6:58, saying "yeah, it was me". With brief answers.
      - 7:07 John says he was born RIGHT AT THE MURDER SCENE... now to explain, the birth of alters start as a culmination of repeated stresses, triggers, actions and thoughts that build overtime. Eventually this blank slate will block themselves off (or become blocked off) from the main identity in order to protect it (can't say who's consciously doing it, because nobody has control over that in the middle of its process) THEN after that they get to claim a name and voice.
😭 But who the heck was in the first trial!? 3rd alter??? Or just Mikoto?
      - 7:20~8:11 See how before Es explains abt the death penalty, a cold voice with no remorse seeps in? Asking "what'd happen to Mikoto?" Then someone else breaks character in reaction, saying "Yo wait I'm the one who did it, Mikoto was just sleeping-".
Could be Mikoto's fear flooding in, or John really did have that reaction, but then intercepted by either Mikoto himself or a third person who was mediating the convo... It's hard to tell where their lines start actually, because in Japanese, you can loosely refer to a subject without explicitly saying them in the sentence... 😂 while in English, that's the only way it'd make sense!
      - 8:34, John spits facts at Es. He needs to stop being such goody two shoes prison guard😂
9:02~9:23 or something, I feel Mikoto flooded in again to defend himself and points blame at John.
9:45 followed by John blaming himself for existing.
      - Mikoto bringing up "dogs" is a delayed reaction to John saying it was a dog's name, as he was intercepted mid-speech. 😂😂😂 And perhaps a misplaced ice-breaking attempt.
Now. I still voted innocent, despite all of our thoughts leading to a guilty verdict. I really want to see what kind of ending the writers can muster up with a rushed, lopsided INNOCENT vote. 😂 Highly doubt that all of the story milestones have been set in stone, in this kind of active participation scenario. In fact, the writers' perception about DID may still be developing as we speak.

English speakers seem to be confused by the fact that John refers to a dog's name, but to me, as a Japanese, it is relatively natural.
This is because a dog named John appears in a Japanese children's TV program.
It is somewhat old-fashioned, since it is fashionable these days to name dogs after food or Japanese things.
However, I think it is possible that Mikoto, an adult, and another personality hear the name John and associate it with a dog.
    I am using machine translation.

This is really interesting as it appears that John here is trying to control his anger. Which as in trial 1 he let his anger get control of himself and attacked Es for making Mikoto have a panic attack, although I think he was kind of acting it up by how his threats become, I still feel the anger is genuine.
This means that likely as John has stabilised more and learned to control his emotions. Which in a way is great character development for him, even if it’s just a stepping stone.

I love mikoto's story so much. It hit me when John said that he was born to protect Mikito. That he'd do anything for Mikoto. That's exactly how i feel and felt about my other self. My Mikoto has long since dissappear after my re-assimilation, but he was my everthing. I loved him more that anyone. He was the first version of "me" and the only "me" I had very known. I'd did so much to protect us, to push us further so we wouldn't break any further. Breaking would mean death. No matter how terrible, I did it for him. He was like my God. He was my faith.
Things never got beter for us and so he left me. I don't feel him anymore and my pseudo alters reorganized into my current personality, leaving me as the remnant of the person I (we) were before. before giving an opinion on his trial, please listen to what systems have to say about it. i personally think this is a beautifully handled trial, and i wasn’t really expecting it when es called john a monster (which falls under multiple system related stereotypes/offensive terms as well as other words like demon), there was quite a great development in john and es’ convo right after that. i have lot of things to say but i’d rather take my time to write a proper analysis instead of vomiting the first words that come to mind. and anyways, while i do think he should be voten innocent, the whole “if mikoto is innocent john may go dormant and viceversa” situation is very tricky. kudos to the writers for making such a good job

@@kloy.m341 while it’s true that no alter can force themselves into dormancy, we also have to keep in mind that john doesn’t know that either. did (and other dissociative disorders) do not come with an instructions book, and despite john has acknowledged he’s part of a system (while mikoto hasn’t) he’s not knowledgeable about everything that concerns it and he believes he can and he will force himself into going dormant for mikoto’s sake if he gets voted innocent. i’m personally voting mikoto innocent because since john can’t choose to go dormant BUT, as he also said, mikoto may go dormant due to the severe stress another guilty vote may bring him, it’s better if the innocent verdict leads the two of them to communicate more. i hope mikoto will learn more about himself, the system and john (and technically the third alter most people - me included - are theorising about, who may be the gatekeeper from the symbolism we’ve seen in the two mvs) in t3 🥹

I dont think John did it. I have a few systems as friends, he reminds me of a couple of protectors from their different systems.
The wanting to shift blame to himself also raises an eyebrow for me. Its coming across to me as someone who is lying for a loved one in order to take the heat. It does make sense: Mikoto is backed into a corner, its the 'sona's function to protect the system. The way he scrambles to convince Es at the end of interview doesnt read to me as guilt for commiting the crime, it feels more like an apology for not being able to step in when he should have. I also want to point out that he never mentions how many people hes killed, only that it was hazy in the beginning because he was just born. If memories arent shared between the two, he wouldnt know how many peoole hes killed.
TL;DR: I think John is lying to us in a desperate attempt to save Mikoto.

    My theory at the moment:
    - "John" WAS born from a stress response, the moment of the text message in the MV. How long he existed prior to the murder is unknown.
    - He was asked to come into work, where he was likely being harassed. John was born to handle the stress of Mikoto's life, not to murder.
    - Eventually Mikoto commits the murder(s) of ... most likely his boss and his coworkers. I really don't think it was John, judging from the most recent MV and this drama CD.
    - At this point either (a) Mikoto remembers the murders and is bluffing, and they are trying to deceive MILGRAM by making John seem responsible. or (b) Mikoto genuinely forgot that he murdered anyone, but John knows the truth, potentially being the one holding the memories of the murder but not the one responsible.
    - John is protecting Mikoto out of a sort of familial bond primarily, though how much of it is self preservation is unknown.
    So, tl;dr
    - John is either an alter made to handle MIkoto's workplace harassment, OR John is the original personality and MIKOTO was made at the moment of the murder.
    - Either way, I think John is innocent. I don't think it's even "they both did murders but Mikoto is lying / doesn't know about his". The CD made it very clear that John is very well spoken, but immediately stumbles when asked details of the crime.
How do I think you should vote? No matter that you believe, vote innocent so that we can see Mikoto's side of the story. I don't think John can really disappear for good. DID doesn't work like that.

There’s a part of me that believes John was lying when he said that he was the killer. He seems really adamant about saying that and when pressed on the matters he kinda acts a bit weird, and claims his memory is fuzzy. He said the only reason he killed was because of stress, which is way to loose of a motive for it to be true. I personally think that he’s trying to shift Mikoto from having the blame and putting him under even more stress, and pushing the blame onto himself.

Agreed. He's rushing for the fastest answer to the questions on the details, trying to turn the focus solely to the idea that it was him who did it and not Mikoto. I would imagine mikoto is also dissociated enough from the event to not remember it accurately either, I don't think he's lying about that as mikoto; but i do think (hope) it *was* mikoto and John was covering for him here.

    • @ac-gf4zt
      @ac-gf4zt  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +42

On a personal level, this is the conclusion I’m leaning towards, too. I think it would be really interesting if it was Mikoto who committed the crimes- rather than John being born so that he could relieve Mikoto’s stress by killing people for him, he was born so he could relieve Mikoto’s stress BECAUSE Mikoto was killing people.
John’s answers are just too vague and it’s very easy to think that he is instead taking on the protector role by shifting the blame onto himself.
Also very notable that MeMe (sang by Mikoto) features distinct crimes, faces, and environments. In comparison, Double (sang by John) represents every victim with blank, unidentified mannequins, and only takes place in the tight subway (possible representation of not knowing anything in full, or having a limited perspective compared to Mikoto?)
I think it’s too early to take John’s confession at face value; maybe Mikoto’s interrogation questions will make one idea or another clearer. I pity both of them.

  • @Selenity_

Here's what i realised while watching both MVs. On the train Mikoto and John are sitting facing each other. On Mikoto's scenes, the train is going to the RIGHT and on John's scenes it's going to the LEFT. It goes like this the whole video except one scene. (1.55). It's Mikoto singing, train is going to the RIGHT but we see blood splatting everywhere. This might mean two things: a) Mikoto actually killed or b) Mikoto knew John killed. So he'e either the murderer or a witness. Also if we come back to the first MV, during the murder scene, at first when the killer is walking to the victim with a bat, the train is going to the LEFT, indicating it's JOHN. Then suddenly when the victim raises his hand, the train starts moving to the RIGHT, indicating Mikoto fronts and the train keeps going to the RIGHT during the murder, so the real killer is MIKOTO. Mikoto says he just dreamed so maybe while he fronted during the murder, he thought he was dreaming and swang that bat thinking it was just a dream. Maybe he didn't even realise it was reality. This is why milgram counts mikoto as the prisoner, not john.
On first MV, a tarot card "the devil" falls on MIKOTO, and he becomes devastated when he saws the card. He realises that he actually killed, but he's still in denial.
On both MV's "hanged man" signifies MIKOTO. On MV1 "the fool" signifies John (it means a new beginning/a fresh start acording to google) At the end of the MV, one of them gives the "death" card to another but i'm not sure what exactly that means.
On the second MV John looks like one of the tarot cards on the first MV "the chariot". Acording to google that card means "determination, success and control". Maybe he thought Mikoto would be happier if he would make his fantasies come true (on second voice drama, john signals that mikoto kinda had fantasies about killing?). So JOHN just set the scene and let MIKOTO Kill. JOHN was in control and succeeded his goals of making mikoto's dream come true, while mikoto just thought that he was dreaming.
Now that they are in Milgram and getting judged, John is trying to save Mikoto, while Mikoto is not so aware of his crime.

    • @LanieMae
      @LanieMae 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Oh my god this is so good. I never even thought about that nor heard anyone talk about this but this is such a good theory more people need to know about this.
And interesting how you bought up John setting up the scene and letting mikoto kill. I don’t think he manipulated him into killing (I know that’s not what you said but I’m bringing it up anyway) and was acting on mikoto’s will, and he committed the murder.
This would also explain how it appears there’s blood on both sides in double implying they both had major roles in the murder, and would maybe explain the deal with mikoto’s memory.
And this would also take into account the stalking/self defense theory about it being premeditated and stuff.
I don’t know how to say this but thank you so much this has opened up a wave of new possibilities in theorising.

Honestly the crisis of attribution is fascinating here. It's obvious that Milgram thinks Mikoto is responsible for the murder(s?), but John very obviously considers himself the only murderer between them, and Mikoto seems to truly have no memory of it.
This leads me to only one conclusion; The traumatic event that brought John into being was Mikoto's first murder. With Mikoto's psyche being unable to cope with being a murderer, John was created to take the memories, the blame, and the function of his excuse.
John murdered multiple people, as well, meaning that Mikoto may even have avoided noticing any clues that might let him find out the truth. He's taken a huge amount of time to even consider that there may be another member of his system, and that seems based around the idea that the more Mikoto acknowledges what has happened, the less stable his own self-identity becomes, and the more solid John's becomes...
idk, this is a fascinating one.

(Not my answer, from Quora it should pop out if you search "If someone has dissociative identity disorder, legally, what happens to the person if one of their personalities kills someone?")
The person goes to jail. Simple as that.
There’s a term known as “system accountability” that is used a lot when referring to DID and OSDD systems. Let me give you an example of a situation where you would need to have system accountability.
Let’s say that one of my alters, Roxy, gets upset with someone and calls them a fat ugly bitch. (Which would actually be really out of the ordinary for her, she isn’t usually too mean unless she feels she or the body is in danger.) Whenever the host, Aubrey, fronts, she would have to take responsibility for Roxy doing that and apologize.
The reason for this is because typically with hosts or co-hosts, they have to take responsibility for the things other alters do sometimes because they are the host and it is their system.
So if that alter were to kill someone, the host would be taking responsibility for that.
Though most people with Dissociative Identity Disorder aren’t so mentally unstable that they would kill someone.
      Have a nice night,

I actually think Mikoto is the one who committed the crimes, and "John" is just there to "take responsibility" of Mikoto's crimes, as obviously murdering people could be stressful as hell and it is said that "John" was born to protect Mikoto from being stressed too much.
John wanting to shift the blame to himself after Es confronted him is to be honest kind of suspicious. After all, he did say that "To protect 'me'(Mikoto), I'll do anything."
Anything, he says. This may includes taking Mikoto's blames and sins and claiming it as his own to protect Mikoto from stressing out.
One thing that led me to thinking this is that MILGRAM's rules didn't apply to "John" and the one who's considered as a prisoner is instead Mikoto. So if Mikoto didn't do it, why is HE the prisoner? Why isn't "John"?
So what I think is that Mikoto is definitely guilty. And John is the innocent one.

Edit, because I was so caught up in theorizing that I forgot: THANK YOU to the translator and to you, ac. Everyone’s hard work allows Milgram to be accessible to those overseas, which we wholeheartedly appreciate. ac, I hope that your health continues to improve. Please take care of yourself!
    Well, this is interesting.
John admits that he was “born just then,” so things were fuzzy. He also speaks vaguely about the crime itself. “Whoever was walking by?”
My theory is that Mikoto definitely did it. His alter’s free from Milgram’s rules because his alter didn’t do it. His alter is taking responsibility for the murders because, duh, of course Mikoto would feel increased stress over literally murdering people.
The ALTER is what Mikoto wants to be. Mikoto is using it to posture as a person that can keep on from day to day without falling apart. He has no one, so he created his own protector, a person that can take on the blame from Mikoto’s eventual snap.
I also now believe that Mikoto and the alter can probably refer to one another interchangeably. I need to get confirmation of that, but certainly Mikoto doesn’t think he just came down with a case of narcolepsy and is now falling asleep all over the place. But he genuinely seems to not know his alter is there…SEEMS. Maybe he doesn’t know a “John” because that’s not what Mikoto named him.
All I know is that I forgive him. I think any working person who’s stressed beyond all reason can understand where he’s coming from. He’s still a murderer, but I have to go Innocent on this one. He went from being a highly suspicious scoundrel to a relatable overworked dude by the second trial and I can’t even condemn him.
ADDENDUM: Had to watch his video a few more times and then this a few more times. I’m voting innocent, but just because I don’t think Mikoto’s some rampager like Kotoko or unapologetically merking babies like Yuno. I genuinely think he probably snapped and is trying to pass off the guilt to not be seen as a “bad person.” Same with the lovey-dovey homegirl; they’re not bad or malicious; they need therapy.

It’s literally the equivalent of like someone breaking eggs vs ripping off a living chicken’s head. The first one is entirely normal and the 2nd one would mean they’re probably a psychopath

    • @aisonaa
      @aisonaa 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

A person with DID symptoms said that for alter to be birthed there needs to be repeated exposure to distress.(Correct me if I'm wrong) In this case, if John was born to relieve Mikoto from his guilt and protect him from remembering, then it could mean this was not his first murder - it seems more plausible, since I don't think he really mass murdered everyone on that train in one sitting; this isn't what MeMe shows, it's more of a metaphor from the second mv. In MeMe it's been different murders on different nights, which means he didn't just snap once, and is that forgivable to you?
I also don't think that reinforcing his beliefs that he's right will be good for him. John gets pissed at any attack to Mikoto and shows violence, which means once he's let out murders are likely to continue and Mikoto will always remain in denial. This is a destructive coping mechanism that will net him in prison irl, so it's better to vote him guilty.
Not mentioning that we can feel compassion, but he's a serial killer that killed people he doesn't know (shown by the fact they got mannequins to represent the victims). If it wasn't fiction, no matter the circumstances we would not forgive that person with our hearts, so why judge so erratically now simply because it's a game - aren't we supposed to think of these hypothetical situations as if they happened and decide whether they are forgivable? All of the characters here apart from Mu(soz Mu stans x) have motive and we sympathise with them. But we don't vote all of them innocent. Yet literally nobody has killed this many people out of the whole squad, apart from organ harvester - and he didn't violently smash their brains out with a bat.

I'm amazed no body brought up the fact that Es mentions the death penalty as a possible punishment of Mikoto/John's murders in a legal trial.
When tied with Yuno suspecting she is dead in the second interogation, i think this further solidifies the theory that this is purgatory and everyone is dead.
Mikoto must've died from getting the death penalty, considering that Japan doesnt really consider mental health too seriously. All the judges probably thought Mikoto was just lying or John probably appeared in the middle of the trial, solidifying him as the perpetrator of the murders.

It's interesting. Es says Mikoto is the one we're supposed to judge, which makes sense- it's why when 'John' was fronting the prison restraints didn’t work. But it would also mean Mikoto is the one who committed a murder, right? 'John' says he was created to protect Mikoto, and the whole interrogation he continues to insist Mikoto didn’t know anything about it. So maybe 'John' is trying to protect Mikoto from judgement as well.
I don’t know if I'd vote Mikoto guilty just on that, but I feel like there's some part of the case missing still. Maybe it'll be cleared up next Trial.

When he says disappear it means bokukoto personality will return as dormant right? The moment Mikoto become innocent an irregular that is capable of breaking Milgram rule will be inactive during season 3. As Es it means that we don’t have to fear of unknown anymore but at the same time we lose a wild card capable of threatening against Jackelope and Milgram. In short, when John become inactive no one can stop Jackelope and Milgram for the rest of the project.

Idk it just does not make sense to me. If Milgram recognises them as separate entities, then why in the world would it blame Mikoto for something that John did while letting John roam free? I want to say innocent but something just really doesn’t add up. I do not doubt John’s killing but what did Mikoto ever do that Milgram sees as murder, intentional killing of another? That bothers me
If I wanted to stretch further here, there is also the fact that John is there to protect Mikoto. John could absolutely just be playing his cards well to try to fulfil his purpose. That would include taking blame for things that Mikoto has done.
I want to believe Mikoto is innocent as much as the next person but I just really don’t think the way the situation is currently presented to us makes sense, it feels like there is something missing from Mikoto’s side

  • @j0hnd0e13
    @j0hnd0e13 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

It seems like Mikoto has a very strong sense of who he is, and John seems to also have a strong sense of who Mikoto wants and wishes to be. But of course, only as humans, they will experience negative emotions, but these negative emotions are contrary to the personality that Mikoto identifies with. Thus perhaps Mikoto had created John, someone who would take up this personality and perform the "bad acts", so they will not be associated with Mikoto, and Mikoto remain as "himself". Which is why John gets enraged and keeps emphasizing that it is him who had killed and not Mikoto. As Mikoto's wish is, well maybe, to preserve his identity as being a nice person.
Basically the more we vote him as guilty, the more John comes out as it contradicts with Mikoto's personality.

"They annoyed me. Just whoever was walking around nearby" but it's a fuzzy memory, as he was born just then. I think it might have seem random to him, who just fronted to be a protector and the perpetrator of violence, but something did happen right before that to Mikoto, being rather the victim of violence, for him to have been under such extreme stress right there to trigger the creation of a violent alter whose role is to protect him.

I think Makoto actually did kill someone (maybe because they were stressing him out too much and would not leave him alone?) which caused John to be born in order to deal with stressful situations like that.
Also, how would they last for so long without getting caught since John Implies he basically kills whoever were nearby which seems hard for him to cover up and hide evidence, especially if these were from stress. Likely just overthinking this but am curious.

If we don't forgive Mikoto, John seems to warn us he might literally break - disappear, I read some paper on DID long time ago, and there was mention of unifying the personalities (it most likely wont translates well in English, not my first language) but there was something about either the original or the alter personality to come up and let me call it "overthrow" the other(s) for the lack of better word. I guess it's foreshadowed what could happen to Mikoto depending on our vote? Either way, I do think he deserves to be forgiven, he's the one judged and those are not his crimes.

I'm still building up this theory. but theres a strange bit starting around 7:32 when Es brings up the death penalty. I find it odd that John at 7:07 says he can't remember much from around the time he was born, but then at around 7:32 he starts going into detail about what caused mikoto to reach his breaking point. I'm thinking that it's not as clear cut as we thought. I think that mikoto came back out for a brief moment pretending to be John to try to defend himself (mikoto) better than john was. and around the 8:00 min mark it goes fully back to john as he gets more aggressive. Basically Mikoto is aware of john and using him as an excuse for his actions while John is protecting mikoto thinking he (mikoto) is not aware of his existence.
    goodness thats a mouth full.

guys, there IS a reason why Mikoto is the prisoner of milgram's system and not John. In the first music video, we can see Mikoto picking from a deck of tarot cards, and images of the devil cards flashing in front of us suggesting he's going to pick up the devil card - yet, as he turns the card, it's empty. In the next sequence we can see, most likely, John slipping and falling and the devil card falling into his lap, him looking horrified initially but then getting used to it. HE did not have the choice of picking a card. The devil card in tarot represents "the shadow self" - "negative forces that constrain you from becoming the best version of yourself".
Mikoto(EDIT: TO CLARIFY: SUBCONSCIOUSLY, AS HIS BRAIN DID THE SPLIT TO PROTECT HIM, HE DID NOT DO IT INTENTIONALLY BY HIS OWN WILL) created John to PROTECT his desired innocence, putting the weight of his violent tendencies and negative parts of himself on John(whereas John clearly just wants to protect him). PLEASE don't make a mistake, VOTE HIM GUILTY! I'm begging that people see this!
Further supporting this, John is fronting a lot more since Mikoto is found guilty, and John lashes out when Mikoto is under stress of being accused guilty by Es - this clearly hints us that something is wrong. Perhaps John has received memories of killing too as Mikoto seems to not handle guilt well - then he solely exists to relieve Mikoto of his guilt, which we can't allow (I believe that is why John will disappear if we vote Mikoto innocent).
P.S And, please don't forget, that he killed SO many people. I understand that this is fiction and he's hot and was stressed, but can we reasonably forgive SO many lives brutally murdered for ANY reason?

    • @analyticaltomato
      @analyticaltomato 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

From what John told us, if we vote Mikoto innocent he(John) is definitely going to disappear, while Mikoto will disappear if we vote them innocent as John will be the one fronting more and more. I find it hard to believe that our choice is limited to this trolley problem of sorts, but unless John is lying, that seems to be what we’re confronted with.

    • @aisonaa
      @aisonaa 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@analyticaltomato Mikoto can't disappear because he's the host, so he'll be fine, just dormant as he's faced with stress he needs protection for. I'm sure we can find a way to resolve his defence mechanism while having John front.
Some people would want to see Mikoto fronting, but I'm judging purely based on whether they're guilty or innocent without letting other factors get in the way. John is only a part of Mikoto that got his undesired "devil card", and is therefore not the one holding responsibility. Mikoto is guilty. Why do we not want Mikoto to admit his guilt if he's guilty?
Of course, we don't know how John would interact with Es if he's not restrained and he did threaten us. But, in my opinion, this isn't about that. And if things will get bad, Jackalope, Kotoko(if voted innocent) or Kazui will probably intervene. If not, Shidou will patch us up. So it's not really a concern to me.

Based on what they've said, I think he's guilty, but they may not. They don't offer their opinion, it's just very good information. Not all of it has to be right and I disagree with some parts but I think they make some really good points.

    My thoughts on Mikoto's verdict:
I personally believe he is guilty, but voting him guilty may cause more harm than good.
    So why guilty?
    1) System accountability. I don't have DID myself, but in the DID community, they have something called system accountability, meaning the entire system must take responsibility for the actions of their alters.
    2) System accountability aside, there's a theory going around that Mikoto may actually have committed the murders. So if that theory is true, we'd be punishing the right person, elliminating the question of "can we vote Mikoto guilty when it was only his alter that commited the murders?" And if that theory is false and Mikoto genuinely did not kill, voting him guilty would be enough to punish John, who is desperately trying to not get him voted guilty, and again, there is always system accountability to fall back on in that scenario.
    3) Either Mikoto, John, or both of them have killed multiple people, which alone is grounds for a guilty vote. For a while i was hoping that maybe John killed out of self-defense due to the line about wanting to "save" Mikoto in the trailer, but now that the MV and VD are out, it didn't seem like any of Mikoto/John's victims were attacking him first, and were all innocent bystanders. So yes, Mikoto murdered multiple people for non self-defense reasons, although there was an element of self-preservation to it. But none of those strangers were attacking Mikoto first, going off the info we have now. John just did it to release Mikoto's pent-up stress.
So those are my reasons for why Mikoto deserves to be guilty. True, he's a sympathetic killer, but he's still a killer. But should we actually vote him guilty?
    1) As we know, John's murders are caused by Mikoto's stress, and voting Mikoto guilty would only stress him out further, it wouldn't teach him anything. Considering that plus the fact that John says Mikoto will "dissapear" if we vote him guilty, (which I doubt will happen, considering DID doesn't work like that, but it could cause Mikoto to go dormant) a guilty vote for Mikoto could cause a dangerous situation in the prison, especially since John is not even affected by the restraints. Who knows, it could stress Mikoto out to the point that John may front and kill the other prisoners to release Mikoto's stress, and I wouldn't want to subject the other prisoners to that. That's a possibility too- the writers have already given us enough hints that any of the prisoners in Milgram could die.
    2) 2 guilty votes in a row would already give him a majority guilty verdict, and that may make it impossible for him to get redeemed, depending on how Milgram works. To be honest, i think Mikoto is one of, if not the, most guilty prisoner in Milgram out of all of them, and redeeming him would be close to impossible. Not that i dislike Mikoto, I do actually find him likeable at times, but he's definitely one of the more dangerous prisoners in this project, and voting him innocent would be quite unfair to his victims. But judging by the majority vote on his profile now, I highly doubt that Mikoto would get a guilty verdict, even though he deserves it. But maybe voting him innocent for now would be the better choice for the sake of protecting his mental health and the other prisoners from his outbursts, as well as gauging how to responds to an innocent vote. We can always vote him guilty again in the third trial.

    • @LanieMae

So.. Vote innocent because we are putting the crime on the alter who did nothing wrong, Vote guilty in the future if we have to judge the alter who did the crime? It seems like the alter has realised he did infact commit a crime, And that he has wronged in the process, And that the innocent is completely unaware and only finds it more stressful, Bringing the harmful alter to light.
