I am from Qatar .My family love to spend time looking for truffle . This year only my uncle gave me 2 kilos of white truffles .we cook them within a week from finding them , usually with rice or in the oven with butter or even in the microwave and the taste is still powerful . I think boiling truffles with rice is the worst method , yet it is the most popular way to eat it in the Arabian Gulf .
I just bought some spores etc of morel and truffle. My 4 acres outside the city always grows a TON of random mushrooms. So I figure I’d give it a try. I’ll comment in 4 years so u can come pick them up w/in 5 days if all goes well. 😂😂
I use truffle salt(with coconut oil) in my popcorn machine and it's better than any theater popcorn iv had...i got the salt from Costco and they had actual truffles there. It was 4 truffles in 2 jars with a little bit of oil in each jar. It also came with a cutter thing...
Fun, focused, fast and informative video. I'm working with a guide at the Truffle museum in Sorges in South West France, teaching her English so she can feel more at ease when showing anglophile visitors around. So I'll use your video and energy in my next class to zoom in on the essentials. Thanks a lot, c'est vraiment excellente votre video, merci beaucoup!

I dug up something underneath a tree stump. I noticed hundreds of little tiny mushrooms growing and then seen this weird thing half buried around the mushrooms. When I dug it up it was a slimy oval shapped thing, lol. When I split it open there was a round white substance inside. Not sure if this is a truffle. But when I started digging, there are hundreds of these things. Not sure what they are. There is root system that's connecting to the mushrooms growing on the ground
There also connected to the tree root system. I think they are white truffles but they aren't ripe and some animal has tried digging at em is what it looks like

Brooooo! Thank you for this video. Not only was it informative beyond what I expected, it was also entertaining! Haven’t seen your other videos yet, so I don’t know if you’re already doing it, but I think you should keep doing vids of expensive stuff foods and ingredients. Hahaha. Def liked and subscribed!
There are many species,of Truffles over 40 in fact, though relatively few of them have a real market value. Cultivated varieties include: - Black or Perigord truffle (Tuber melanosporum) - Winter truffle (Tuber brumale) - Summer truffle (Tuber aestivum var. aestivum) - Burgundy truffle (Tuber aestivum var. uncinatum) - Oregon Black Truffle (Leucangium carthusianum) - Oregon White Truffle (Tuber oregonense) Not all truffle species are commercially available in the trade.
I'm glad I decided to look into truffles, I found a store that has 2 small truffles in oil, in a jar, with an exp date a year away...eek. will definitely look into the link you posted to order.
Buy some good truffle oil. Although it is expensive, when you think about it you’re not going to be cooking with it all the time. A bottle of olive oil goes by much quicker than a truffle one. My truffle oil bottles usually last me 4-5 months even with frequent use.
Great content, Adam! I recently bought some White Truffle Popcorn at Trader Joes, and I will be making a video review! Good to know some background about these luxurious truffles!
Awesome video man. I currently work in a resturaunt where I have a very direct source for wonderful truffles. And they are in season! (At the end of season but still wonderful) deffinently gonna try truffing some eggs while they are good and pungent. Thanks! If u read this I would love to know how long you truffed yours for. Will do my own research until then!
I'm from India and I never knew that we have truffles here.. I've eaten them but never thought they were truffles I just thought they were rounded mushrooms.. I think the ones we had here are white on the outside and kinda dark in the inside.

It’s interesting that here they shave some truffle over the gourmet food, while in the Middle East it’s still expensive but they used to eat it whole or cut but in big amount with rice or even in barbecue
I think it's an aesthetic thing. But yes the outside of the truffle is rougher than the smooth interior. I think the darkened ring around the truffle is gorgeous when sliced thin.
Santana Infinity I am by no means in the position to say weather it's TRUE or not but just below your comment is one from a resident of Quatar who claims to cook them and that it's his preferred method to prepair them. Curious as to why the statement that they can not be cooked is present.
Yeah I just finished the video and the narrator even says that "a lot of people dont think you can cook with truffles but that's just *#$@%" although the black variety (or black species smh) are the better choice if planning to cook.
I imagined truffles would just be overrated posh people food but this Christmas I tried brie cheese with a cream cheese and truffle layer ! and now I can't wait to eat more of those little devils, I think they will have to be a birthday present tho 😅. Or get myself a truffle hunting dog 🐶.
I am definatly no expert on terminology but somthing about using the phrase "plant species" has always seemed to me a better fit in describing somthing sentient (although in all likelihood it probably is the correct way to phrase it) such as "animal species". Iv always felt like the term "plant variety" made better fit than "plant species" but on the other hand that's probably why I dont get paid to define proper terms for various things.

Truffles have such a unique flavor!! They’re so garlicky and earthy. Had some truffle oil and truffle chicken and it was absolutely DELICIOUS

Hey Trivett. Thank you! That's so cool, I'm honored.
Liked for “funk nuggets”. Good video, thanks.
Thank you, i am new to truffles. I've had them and the oil on eggs WOW, small amounts are good. I aim to try them with creamy pasta.
Just mashed a whole plate of creamy linguine with rosemary, parsley, white wine and white truffle on top. Phenomenal.

Really appreciate this video. I came across some Black Truffles in a grocery store here in Houston and bought one!!!
Which store? I’m in Houston and curious, at least want to try it once. Even if it’s fake, it’ll close to the real thing.
Yo Arohie Here i have completed my culinary arts about to join intership ❤thank you so much for enlightenment ... Lots of blessings and love 💞
Truffles taste like very strong mushrooms like mushroom cheese 🤤😍
They tasted earthy...like soil.
I enjoyed the video, it was entertaining and informative. Nice job!
Best truffle clarification 👍this guy makes it 101 he is direct if I had a NASCAR team he would be in charge of team HR development
Lol, I appreciate that Steve.
Well! I sure did learn something. Thank you for this
Dope! Happy to hear it.

Started upon this beauty while spilling some truffle oil on leftover pasta in my friends house HA!

My favourite truffle is Hungarian honey truffle I mean it tastes like honey and late season black truffle it only grows in Hungary
As a Hungarian...I haven't seen a single one of my 40 relatives either use it, or even talk about it.
Thank you! Great video. You're an enjoyable teacher.

I like the video and Adam, you are one adorable man!
Worked in some fine dining restaurant before, and some peel black truffle before usage and some don't. Does peeling make any difference?
I think it's an aesthetic thing. But yes the outside of the truffle is rougher than the smooth interior. I think the darkened ring around the truffle is gorgeous when sliced thin.
I just get truffle oil from TJ Maxx! Cheap, incredible aroma and long shelf life. Really good on pizza!
What a wonderful video you created. Thank you so much :)
No probs, Anthony!
