Croatia is stunning. I’ve been there twice in my life and I plan on going there soon again. I recommend everybody on going to the island of Brac, outside the coast of the region of Dalmatia.

This region in Croatia is well known for truffle all over the world.They found white truffle of 1.3kg back in 1999 if my memory serves me correctly.Up to date still largest ever.I would eat that scrambled egg sandwich any day.Most expensive white truffle went on auction in Italy for € 100 thousand,weight 900 grams.Just to put it in perspective what quality truffle you find in Croatia.

That is a bit superficial remark since these are not any truffles but probably the best truffles in the whole world likewise is Istrian virgin olive oil that is known for its exquisite quality from the antiquity to this times!

There's a movie called "the hundred foot journey" about 2 competing restaurants, one is michelin star french restaurant, the other is indian homemade cooking. The owner of a michelin one tests the cook from indian with an omellete cause from that meal you can see if the cook knows what he's doing or not :)
I've lived in Croatia all my life, been to the sea, many museums. It has many old buildings from a really long time ago. I have never been in any other countries, but I would love to visit other countries. But the beauty of Croatia is gonna keep me there for some time.

I need to stop watching your videos for a little bit lol but I’ll be back. I just survived another 6+ month long Gastroparesis flare up. Gastroparesis just means “stomach paralysis”, so think extreme food poisoning symptoms/subsequent malnutrition that only gets worse for 6 months. So happy to have survived this one specifically, because I was knocking on hell’s door on a few different occasions. Good food doesn’t taste like food anymore, I only pick up gross flavors (usually goes back to normal after your body gains some weight back lol but I’m skin and bones right now) so I want amazing food every second of the day, but I can’t eat any of it without ruining it forever 😂🤦🏻♀️ I’ll definitely cook this when I can properly eat again lol. Thanks for being another form of inspiration during this flare up, I know it probably doesn’t sound like it, but you helped. So thank you 😊 it means a lot! -Kara

If you put slightly undercooked hardboiled eggs in a box with truffles they´ll take on the flavor. It´s great to spread them on some bread after a night in the fridge.
That is true. You don’t even have to cook them.
But that is also true for some other food because the truffle scent is just too strong.
So you must be careful if you store truffles with other food that you don’t want to get that smell.
Personally I use a different refrigerator to store truffles because not everything gets better with a truffle and not everyone loves them

Also, I usually put the butter first in the pan, wait for it to melt and act as an oil substitute, then add eggs, but since I saw this I'll have to try it like this!
My stove is lopsided (due to the house settling) and Gordon when you said "Nothing wrong with that at all" it made appreciate my house and my cooking tools.

@Gordon, just keep in mind you missed a whole lot of other regions here. Croatia has huge diversity of cuisine. You should try it all! You will not regret, trust me!
I love how Gordon says to "keep it simple" then procceeds to literally use truffle rocks.
That is simple. Its not difficult if you can't manage to shave one stay out the kitchen.
If you're going to add ingredients with a powerful flavor then keep the rest of the cooking simple so you don't over power the star of your dish. It's that simple.
His point was to make the rest of the dish simple since he was using truffles. That seemed pretty obvious.
You can restore a lot of hearts with that meal
But if this dish was on kitchen nightmares, Gordon would be like “wut a fuckin mess”
