I'm still laughing out loud. Brother Martin, a task master. Chain saws humming morning to dark! Had to holler to the guys..."pancakes don't wait" to get them to stop and eat. Dinner served when they ran out of daylight, eating by the glow of the campfire. It was a privilege to be part of the cabin raising. I salute you all!
New friends and caring.Bunch of groups of people my wonder about the cabin being so high off the Ground is,.. about bear or other critters living underneath.. Happy holidays to you & Vonnie, and all.❤
It is so high that animals will no be able to hide under there. Better view and good for a long lived cabin with no moisture problems. We can bank it with snow in the winter.
Ahh, so you caught the cabin building crew relaxing on the job. Yeah, get back to work, you guys! That picture at the end was spooky 👻 looking. Eerie looking. That's wild man. 👍
another great video, Martin. I love seeing the progress. By the way, those black and white photos could not be more perfect. that is just a fact. you should have one blown up and put in a vintage looking frame and hang it in the new cabin. that should be the first thing you hang up. memories like that are worth more than a truckload of gold and jewels. I love the time you post the video!!!>..It's 4 am here!!!......I just woke up for the day!..Your the only one at this hour of the morning who posts one!!>...Thank you my friend!!!>....Your project is going great!!!....I can't wait to see when it's finished!!!!....Thank you!
I can tell from the progress beyond three logs high that the second half of this video was after my departure. I'm looking forward to seeing over the next several weeks the rest of the build that I missed! :D
HOPE YOUR THANKSGIVING WAS A GOOD ONE?? IT'S FUN TO SEE THE COMRADERY!!! ** LIKE THE GROUP PHOTO!!! WELL IT DOES SEEM STRANGE TO SEE THE FOLKS AROUND THE FIRE @ NIGHT ALL ON THERE TECHNOLOGY???!! Do take care. Fl.
I must tell you Martin, as I neared the end of the episode I really enjoyed seeing the shop steward Tom working so peacefully with his rake. It so reminded me of a very ancient Asian garden and elaborated raked patterns 😂
So glad all those friends are there helping you with the guest cabin. That cabin will be done soon for sure. Just keep working all you guys. So great having good friends when you need some help. They know they will get to stay in that cabin soon. God bless you and Vonnie in all that y’all do. From deep southeast Mississippi.❤❤
Most of us didn’t meet until we got to Martins cabin.. we became friends as we worked together… such an awesome experience i will remember for the rest of my life …
Hmm. I don’t remember having New York hot dogs for lunch when I was there!! lol. Oh, and no caramel rolls either…you know the ones you hear so much about from watching Northwoodsman1 videos.
Fun time with great friends. I see a lot of memorable pictures for the new cabin. Wish I could have been there with you all but I’m still working. There will be a lot of good memories there to cherish. Now if you get running water next and a good bathroom you might get vonnie to come up there.
Place is coming along great. A lot of work piecing it together. As I watch this I had to.laugh it's 3am I'm up here at my cabin and I pulled a Wayne. I stuffed the woodstove it's 85 degrees in here now, it's 12 degrees outside if got the windows open haha.
Great video! I feel blessed to be on this mailing list, lol. Also a blessing in disguise that I missed the “first shift” of guys that worked on the guest cabin as I’m not sure as much progress would have been made on the “second shift”!
Martin, as an engineer you should know just because that drill is forward only, you could easily modify the cord and swap polarity on that cord and make it run in reverse..could you not?
I was joking , forgot to put a 😂 . I once used a chainsaw to cut ice that was about 6 inches thick . Mind you that ice was on my sidewalk after some water pooled up and froze. Making a cabin takes a lot of know how for sure 😊
two things wrong with the old timey photo. 1. Old timers always had a somber look. The guy at the far right was smiling. 2) uhm...people in the olden days had a lower calorie diet. That's all I'll say about that ;) Maybe it's just a matter of perspective... the logs in the olden days may have been bigger.
Well in all out honesty, when I was at the Sequoia National Park, the tourists posing by the giant Gnl Grant tree started to gather around me. They were fruitlessly trying to look me up in their tourist guide to see which one I was.
@@abcsandoval sounds like you better sign up for next years build at Big Martins cabin. They could always use a fresh face to draw in a few more ladies to watch Martins channel. He has three so far. Maybe he could get it up to four or even five?
If he's taking volunteers sure! We can make one those lumberjack calendars to sell to the ladies and raise funds to finish that casino. You didn't really buy that guest cabin story did you?
Do you guys know how many men would love to be a part of something special like this. Male bonding at it's finest.
I knew many would be sorry they could not be there for the fun and oh the work too.

Thank you for your service Paula!
I sure wish I could’ve been there to help you cook. We would’ve had a time. 😊
Nice, people getting along, working, smiling, and having a great time building a guest cabin that will out last them! Well done! 😁👋
So nice to see this going up and the roof was on before the snows came.
The contrast of the nostalgic black and white photos of the crew to the cell phone illuminated faces at the end. Lol. Thanks for sharing!
Times are changing.
That had to be the most action your poor outhouse has ever seen at once😮
Should have built a 3 hole to keep up.
Yeah, I started giving it a wide bearth.
I actually had a few tears watching you guys do the old time photo . What wonderful memories ! Thanks , as always for sharing ! 👋❤️
Those are special moments.

That is the plan for a picture and a frame will be made from the same boards we used.
Aww...I love the Old Timey photos! Thanks for slappin' a big ol' smile on my face this morning. What a gathering. 👍😎🇨🇦🪓🧦
A lot of smiles that day.
Martin, I got excited when I saw those muscles flexing! 💪Paula was one lucky girl! Thanks guys! 😘
Eye candy for the three girls out there that watch this channel!

I like that time to give the rest of the world a good time too.
I remember those old cameras. Press camera. 4x5 single frame negatives. Polaroids. I had photography in high school and college.
They still work!
Martin you cracking that whip ,lets go
Had to let the free help have some free time.
@ yes I know what you mean glad things are coming together on the cabin
A fellowship of men on a quest to build the great cabin. This episode was a mix of Lord of the rings meets blazing saddles!
Hahhaha
It sure came together.
Amongst all the shenanigans the guys pulled through and much was accomplished. Good times at the cabin and great memories.
You noticed how well it worked out.
Watching Martins Cabin at the cabin now that’s funny 😅
Kinda hard to swallow.

Fun to watch, Martin. Great team you got there with ya. 😊Thanks.

Fantastic job! And I really like the old style photoshoot. Great job everyone 👍👏
Scott did a great job setting that up and everyone got into it.
Great build!

An amazing bunch of builders showed up.
Morning Martin, Here we go ! Chicks dig guys that build cabins! ( I’ve been told ). Thanks Boys, Well Done.
*We’ve been told*
All types love a log cabin.
Excellent old time photo…Except for the hats that could have been the original crew building your old cabin 👍🏻🤩👌🏻😁
I got them into plaid but doffing the hats was not going to happen.
Good morning, my friend
Martin.
Nice to have you stop by.
I adapted a 5/8” auger bit to my ice auger to drill my logs. It worked very well and very fast. Cabin coming along. Stay safe and have fun.
Another good idea.

AWESOME! looking great
The plan is coming together.
So amazing
I am surprised too how it came together after years of prep.
@ that preparation was huge. Definitely job well done with that. All of that pulling in winter you and your friend.

The cabin coming along.
Very happy with the progress.
There was workin on all 4 sides…You were working the camera ☝🏻
A chain saw bonanza
Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it.
It would have been nice, great crew.
They did a great job and I was very happy with the work.
I sure wish I could have joined you to work on the cabin. My health just does not want to cooperate.
It was quite a party, maybe next time.
THANK YOU
Thanks for watching.
do you have a coffee percolater for the new cabin? And a wood burning stove!
I have a Vermont Casting Defiant to haul in. Some pots but have an extra Corning Wear perk pot in the old cabin.
Many hands make light work.
Sure did
Awwww.... now you're gonna have to uproot the whole cabin site and move it out of cell range!!! LOL
I am looking into jammers.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 That does sound easier than moving everything else!! :D
I saw a sneak peek of the cabin in the rabbit video, roof purlins and all.
Actually a few videos back I gave a real tour of the completed cabin, against the youtube rules but I could not hold back.
Martin I hope you remembered “If you build it, they will come”; peace and quiet may be gone.
But I hope they come when I am not there.
Next time they quit working…Pick up the chain and threaten them 😮😂🤣
I will if it comes to that. Or make them drink a full cup of Expressos.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 Make it the jumbo mugs of Expresso and you could have the place up in half the time 😳😂
LOL... you may need to start a all electronic devices to be turned off during work hours rule.
Need to find a jammer device.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
💪👍🍀
You’re going to have to collect phones at the entrance to camp just like they used to do with firearms in towns in the old west.
I am looking for a jammer.
@ haha!!!
Dziadki ta robota wam się kiepsko klei 😂😂😂
Martin, as an engineer you should know just because that drill is forward only, you could easily modify the cord and swap polarity on that cord and make it run in reverse..could you not?
Probably inside the motor at the brushes?
Not that easy to change directions and the smaller drill did a great job.
Torre de Babel - how is this all going to work out.
Better that I would have ever believed. They asked to see the blue print and I just laughed.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 Looking good for a bunch of rookies Well done.
Good thing fun is not illegal, you and your gang would be locked up for a L O N G time . . . ;>)
it was a lot of work but so much fun with a great group of people ….
Should have put in that sound track
Marty, I just rewatched video #177. I got an idea for a future video. Would you be able to do one in black & white while walking on a trail?
I think my camera does black and white easily
What are the dimensions of this cabin?
Logs were 18.5 and 16.5 feet with top log at 7 feet above floor. 7 foot porch to west and also a porch on south side.
Pity the cook - those other yahoos are there for the sound of Aspen.
All good fun
I believe they are all watching Vonnie's Kitchen most recent upload.
My new issue at the cabin, need to give them their youtube breaks
Any of these guys know how to use a chainsaw ?
We do our best!
Notching logs is so unlike fire wood cutting that adaptions had to be made.
I was joking , forgot to put a 😂 . I once used a chainsaw to cut ice that was about 6 inches thick . Mind you that ice was on my sidewalk after some water pooled up and froze. Making a cabin takes a lot of know how for sure 😊
