I have no Gotterdamerung, but I figured out a strategy. When you get to Phase 2, make sure you do three ATB abilities with Barret - one is Stop, another Focused Shot. When you get an opening, do Avalanche Two Step - this should be enough to drop the boss and allow you to do the rest as you show :)
Just want to say, man, I watch all these Hard Mode guide videos with pleasure. I finished it on my own and you make it all look like child's play. Currently watching an Echo-S voiced playthrough of the original to tide me over until the new one.
A suggestion, for anyone trying this without the gotterdamerung: give Barret the Limit Booster accessory, and the Limit Siphon materia. Tifa should accumulate at least half a limit bar before phase 2, so you can siphon her limit bar while the boss is stopped. That way, Barret still has his limit ready to go in phase 2, to knock it to the ground
So Gotterdammerung isn't really required, you can use limit siphon on Barret to shoot the bird down in phase 2 if you have enough ATB. Or like another comment said, stop the bird then use focused shot and Avalanche 2-step. Just got to get that second stagger any way you can. I love the way these guides show you the bare minimum you need to beat the boss and then you can develop a strategy that works for you based on that. Thanks Optinoob! ❤

Tifas dive kick build works pretty nice on this too. Of the broken builds like limit siphon and brumal spam, i find dive kick build to be the most fun even if magic builds are more effective.
The OHKO that fills the entire arena made my blood boil. The thing that annoyed me most though was that it tells you to target the cyclones, and then doesn't let you target them.
....bro I really REALLY could've done with seeing this last night after I died to this boss on Hard mode approximately 6-12 times before finally winning 😑😑😑😑😑
First time in 200 hours I want to call this game trash. Nothing in this fight works the way it is written in the boss's intel. Casting Fire in the tornado he's in doesn't do jack. He's immune to fire and wind, but somehow Bahamut's Gigaflare also doesn't do any damage to him in phase 2. Utterly ridiculous.
@@Optinooby It's honestly pathetic that the best solution is *not* to use the special mechanic designed for the boss, and just limit break his ass instead.
@@Optinooby touche. that was it. I had on those Jarngrepir gloves so I was using True Strike before but then I changed them when following some of these guides. I very rarely used Tifa in my first playthrough. Good call!

Stop wheres off to fast 😢on second phase. Edit: finally got it but barely. Stop oy lasts 2 seconds for me 2nd phases had to get lucky and do like 4 focus shots with barret 😭
Many options are in front of you, up to you what you do. And you're right, the sims will always be the hardest, doing hard first wont make a difference, but doing sims first will at least make hard easier. Lesser of 2 evils

That's a really good workaround. I just found a way to ensure Barret's limit by phase two lol

This worked. The boss is honestly piss-easy, the whole problem is that the window for using its tornadoes against it is simply ridiculously small.

I used up all my.MP with Yuffie during the fight with the Bomb. Any suggestions to get MP back?

I think a lot of the intel has translation issues

Its the optimal way after looking at everything. Sims will always be mega hard, but why struggle on hard mode as well!!
