The “everything is just getting worse” breakdown ( 3:01 ) is very reminiscent of Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff” breakdown with the explosive “give me something to break” anthem. This is slower and slightly different key but reminds of it for sure. Lots of nods to older heavy music pioneers in this track.
I grew up listening to Deftones, beginning with Adrenaline (which is the only album of theirs I don’t think has aged as well as the rest of their catalogue). On the one hand I love that so many bands today draw inspiration from them, but I can’t get into stuff like this where it feels more copy paste than doing something new. I’d rather just go listen to Self Titled, which is which era they appear to be emulating the most.

Early deftones vibe
Oooh really like this!
I've been in this zone lately where I've realized I really enjoy the Deftones sound...just not when it's from Deftones lol. This is great.
