In the Justice League animated series I think you will love the Flash, he is one of the best characters in the series and has great scenes

I don’t think Wally stole the million dollars, I think they’re implying Mardon’s brother made off with it which is how they financed this whole scheme. Wally is cocky but quite good hearted. He’s younger than Clark and kind of a hot head but has depth. You’ll see more of it in Justice League.
I was so excited for when you got to this episode Meg! I just love how you are slowly meeting members of the Justice League as you watch BTAS and STAS. You're in for such a treat when you eventually watch Justice League and Justice League Unlimited eventually. Glad you enjoyed my episode. Flash is such a cool character but is very underused in live action. He had a really good show from 1990 that for it's time was one of the most expensive TV projects of its time with each episode having a budget of 1 million dollars. It also was heavily inspired by the tone of Tim Burton's Batman releasing just a year before the show. Flash also had a really cool Art Deco inspired outfit with golden wings on his helmet and a killer red suit that still looks good to this day. John Wesley Shipp played the Flash (Barry Allen) and was amazing in the role. Mark Hamill even starred as a character called the Trickster who in many ways is the Joker of the Flash soo it's the closet we'll ever get to a live action Mark Hamill Joker.
And of course the CW Flash TV show apart of the Arrowverse starring Grant Gustin as Flash (Barry Allen) who for a whole generation is the Flash. And like you mentioned Ezra Miller who is the Flash of the DCEU and the star of The Flash (2023). Ezra is surrounded by controversies but I personally loved them as Barry Allen/Flash but of course would prefer if someone else got the role for James Gunn's new DCU. This is really the only times The Flash has had any live action media, Flash film was in production hell for years so he's a character that still needs a really solid live action rendition beyond TV shows.
I would absolutely back up the 1990s Flash and Arrowverse Flash TV series as recommendations to learn more about the Flash!
John Wesley Shipp is the Flashiest Flash of all. :) Barry Allen in the 1990 show. Henry Allen, Jay Garrick and 1990 Barry in the 2014 Flash show and he's Professor Zoom in the cartoon Batman The Brave and The Bold. Love John and Grant and especially their interactions together. :)
I love how even Superman was getting annoyed with The Flash's cocky attitude 😂😅, also as far as i know normally The Flash isn't cocky but the creators of this show made The Flash cocky
The Flash in the DCAU is Wally West instead of Barry Allen, and Wally is generally cocky.

Wally is cocky when he knows he can win, and for anyone who knows the comics, wally is definitely alot faster than supes
“My Adventures with Superman” is very different and amazingly cute. It’s honestly one of my favorite versions of Superman. Feels like the Superman from the supergirl series or the Superman and Lois live action.
The “justice league x RWBY” animated movie is also super fun.
this version of the flash is not as good as the one from justice league series or the CW live action show. Grant Gustin is honestly the best live action Barry Allen flash hands down.
I can definitely see Adventures Supes feeling kinda like Tyler Hoechlin from 'Supergirl' and 'Superman & Lois'. They're both by far the most wholesome Clark/Superman in ages. :)

It's not Michael Rosenbaum playing Flash in Superman The Animated Series. He only became The Flash when Justice League started.
This version of The Flash is supposed to be Wally West, originally known as Kid Flash, the former sidekick of Barry Allen. Barry Allen is the version of The Flash recently depicted in live-action by Ezra Miller in the movies and Grant Gustin on TV, so this is technically a different character. I believe the only actor to portray Wally West in live-action is
Keiynan Lonsdale.
In this episode, Wally West is voiced by Charlie Schlatter, but the role was later recast for the Justice League animated series, with Michael Rosenbaum inheriting the role.
I like to think that in the DC Animated Universe(The continuity in which Batman, Superman, Static Shock, Justice League, Batman Beyond, and The Zeta Project takes place), Barry Allen was the original Flash and Wally West was his sidekick Kid Flash, but Barry later retired and passed on his mantle to Wally; like in the original DC comics.

If I remember correctly, in the comics the Flash / Barry Allen died in the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths (1985 / 1986) sacrificing himself saving ALL of the universes. Because most kids grew up with his nephew Wally West taking the mantle of The Flash ever since, the choice for Wally was pretty obvious.
Later on Kyle Rayner will appear as Earth's Green Lantern, instead of Hal Jordan, mostly because Hal became Parallax in the Emerald Twilight arc (1994) in the comics just when Superman TAS aired. In the follow up series Juctice League, John Stewart was selected (although he was the substitute Green Lantern for Hal's era, and not that well known anymore in the early 2000's), mostly because the producers though his more abrasive attitude and his afro-america origins, had more story potential when paired with the chosen Justice League roster

It's funny you mentioned Wally reminded you of Dick Grayson because in the comics Wally West and Dick Grayson have been besties since their days together in the Teen Titans. The two of them have been each other's steadfast support through the best and worst of times.
Also, both Mark Waid and Geoff Johns' runs on flash have been pretty definitive

There has been four people who have been the flash. Jay Garrick(OG flash of the 40’s), Barry Allen(Flash of the 50’s-80’s and the one used today, Wally West (Flash of the 90’s and 2000’s, in my opinion the best flash and the one in the DCAU) and Bart Allen
Those are the main 4 but there are others. Avery Ho and John Fox are the first 2 that spring to mind and I think even Jesse Quick has assumed the Flash mantle for a time, not to mention all the alternate timeline/universe versions of the character.
Wally is currently back to being the main Flash in comics

If you want to get into the flash, I recommend starting with The flash by mark waid. It has iconic storylines and Linda Park is just the best. And to me Wally West is very similar to Peter Parker
Introduction to a pillar of Justice League in the Flash. This is probably the most widely-known version of him and he only gets better over time. Like Sonic the Hedgehog and Quicksilver from X-Men having super-speed tends to affect one's judgment, increasing pride and recklessness.
The "Weather Wizard" reminds me of early Lex Luthor, who would develop technology worth hundreds of millions of dollars to steal a few million, but without the smarts to actually develop the tech himself. He has technology that can directly control the weather anywhere in the world, and he uses it to try to extort 1 billion dollars (I guess since he's an extortionist, that is his natural impulse). This is one of those stories where I think at the end, "They didn't just forget about this technology, right? It could really redefine what the National Weather Service would be."

I DID love this episode as a kid. Growing up, there was this place called the Warner Bros. Studio Store, that I loved, and one of my favorite things about it was this wall of animation cells. There were so many that they had to add sliding walls to it just to fit everything into the store... And at the center of the 'Superman: the Animated Series' section was a cell from THIS episode. I would just look at that wall for hours. I could've spent every day in that store, just staring at that art.
My Adventures with Superman has been fantastic so far and is a fairly unique take so far on the Superman mythos. Would love to see you react to it!!
The flash has a huge rogue gallery similar to Batman and Spider-Man. It’s a shame he never got an animated series like them. There were a couple of bad to mediocre live-action shows though.

I never really thought of the Flash as being 'morally grey'. I mean, yeah, he's cocky, kind of selfish and he really likes being the center of attention (in the comics, there's actually a whole museum dedicated to him in his hometown of Central City), but when it matters he always does the right thing, just like Superman.
Even Superman and Batman look up to the Flash and consider him a better man they are, Batman especially, as even though the Flash may mess up sometimes, he's still a normal man with a good heart and generally tries to take time in order to help anyone around the world and make sure everyone is seen. Flash is actually one of the only superheroes who has the respect of most of his villains, all except Reverse Flash since he's his hatred for Flash is unfathomable
@@dupersuper1938 I do recall that Batman has said that he wishes he was more like The Flash was (most specifically Barry Allen) especially since Barry Allen as the Flash didn't let tradgedy of his mother's death consume his entire life unlike it did for Bruce when his parent died. The Flash, whether it be Barry or Wally West, might be dorky and even arrogant at times but he still has a heart of gold that learns to love and accept himself and Bruce greatly admires him and wishes he could be just like him.
@@dupersuper1938 I'm not the most knowledgeable comics guy, but I always got the impression that where Batman brought his foes to retribution & Superman brought his enemies to justice, Flash tries to bring them to reformation.
Everybody keeps saying that's Wally, but my headcanon as a kid was this was Barry who later died off screen and Wally took over at the start of Justice League.
By the way, this is Wally West, the third man to become Flash, he's cocky cuz he's the youngest, heck he started out as Kid Flash, the second Flash's sidekick, that second Flash being named Barry Allen. When the second Flash died saving the universe, Wally took his place. So the second Flash is serious, the third Flash starts off cocky and becomes a better hero as time goes on. Wally was the Flash from the 1986 to 2009, Big Reveal, Barry Allen was still alive, soon becoming the main Fash once again! in modern times Wally settled down and started a family but he still acts as The Flash sometimes.
As of 2020 he's actually the main Flash of the comic book series again. The Jeremy Adams run that finished recently was good.

I love the My Adventures with Superman show. I haven't been very happy with the Superman content of the last decade, so it has been amazing. I think you'll really like it 😊.
The Flash is one of the most loveable superheroes as he actually has such a big heart and compassion for people while having relatable problems and personality to any person, while being one of the most overpowered characters in fiction.
Superman and Batman actually look up to The Flash as they consider him a better man than they are.
Flash also hs an amazing Rogues gallery of villains similar to the likes of Spider-Man, Batman's or Superman's rogues gallery. Weather Wizard is one of many villains he faces like Captain Cold, Heatwave, Mirror Master, Captain Boomerang, Trickster, Gorilla Grodd and his arch enemy The Reverse Flash, among many more villains.
Poor Flash must be weeping right now, seeing the box office results for his first solo entry in the movie business.

I will say that a few people took the mantle of the character. Not spoiling which person this version of Flash is but all individuals who took up the role are different but have similar attributes. Also Weather Wizard is part of Flash’s rogues. It’s cool you’re seeing more crossovers because first you saw in BTAS with Batman teaming up with Zatanna, now here with Clark & Flash and more to come. ;) PS, Flash has such complex comics because of all the lore building & powers he has but can be hard to understand at first but would get it quick and next to Batman has a massive memorable villains.

There are three main Flashes. Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, and Wally west. The flash in this episode is Wally west. Wally is more playful and mischievous.

Weather Wizard is a Flash villain from the comics, by the way. Oh, and my favorite (live action) Flash is Grant Gustin from the more recent CW series. It is part of a larger continuity of other shows called the Arrowverse!
Grant is great. As is John Wesley Shipp who played Barry in 1990, Henry Allen (father of Grant's Barry) and Jay Garrick (alongside Grant). I'm still so pleased John got to reprise his Barry from 1990 in Grant era Crisis on Infinite Earths. :)

Does this episode ever name drop this Flash? I always assumed it was Barry Allen but then again could be Wally West as he was the main Flash in the comics during the 1990s. I love Barry Allen so in my head canon I always just saw the STAS Flash as Barry Allen and then any other DCAU appearance of the Flash as Wally West like Justice League etc.

The "Flash movie was really good, and the action was fire. The story when it's said and done was just really sad and heartbreaking in a way, I really enjoyed it. 😭

Flash is difficult to understand fully, he's mercurial, the Justice League series covered him in unexpected ways, showed how he makes friends among the JL, how he actually cares for the villains he feels are his 'roue's gallery', (Mark Hamill has played the Trickster a number of times, animated and live action).
For example, the 'Ultra-Humanite could be ridiculous, but Flash permits him the dignity he wants most.
He's acted to reform villains, and even impresses Very Powerful DC characters like Superman , Green Lantern and so on, as Flash is actually almost infiniteley powerful as he gets a handle on how the speed force interacts with the fundamantal forces of the universe. really.
The Flash's secret identity is mostly Barry Allen, he is the most well-known version of The Flash and he had a sidekick named Kid Flash aka Wally West. In comics, there was a huge event called "Crisis on Infinite Earths" where the flash sacrificed himself, and after that event the whole multiverse got reseted but the main universe where Barry Allen vanished didn't get Barry back and Wally West put on the title of The Flash. So while there isn't any real confirmation for this, but there are noticeable references that this event happened in this animated universe and we are living after it, and this is the Wally West flash.
Also Weather Wizard is one of Flash's classic "Rogue" villains, the flash has a team of villains called The Rogues that aren't the best on their own, but together they stand more chance against him but still fail most of the time. They are mostly just fun characters, they are like toyman for superman, and the Lex Luthor of Flash is the Reverse-Flash but his character is EXTREMELY complicated (and my favorite) so thats maybe for another day.
The Flash has broken the multiverse and all space-time just by running. That’s pretty much all you need to know on how powerful he is (depending on if it’s Barry Allen or Wally West).

Supes is my favorite fictional character but I also love the Wally West version of the Flash. Mark Waid's run on the comic from the 90's is some THE BEST super hero media ever produced - no hyperbole.

The Flash never really runs at top speed. If he does, he literally starts breaking space and time. He's so fast he bends the universe around him. There's an iconic moment in the comics that referenced this episode.
Superman: "I'm fast too. Remember that I raced you that one time."

Im excited for you ro see him more on justice league as hes an amazing character, and if you delve into the comics to learn about him and the other flashes i think youll love those too

Wally West is the superhero who gave me the best moment of superheroics kid me had ever seen in the Justice League Unlimited series. The Heart of the Justice League.
This is definitely one of my favorite episodes. Btw I still call it HBO Max, I'm not shortening it just cause they did.

5:57 If you mean The Flash took that money, no. Later in the episode Weather Wizard said he paid for the machine to make a profit. The money was never recovered and when he got out of jail he used the money to make the machine.
I get this series was a long time ago, but I definitely recommend watching My Adventures with Superman and the live action Superman and Lois TV series, where Lois and Clark have twin teenage boys. Season 4 is the final season and comes out in October

As you may or may not know, there are different persons as The Flash. The obvious one is the golden age Flash Jay Garrick, who has a different costume & a helmet hat with wings.
The most well known Flash is Barry Allen, who is basically the opposite of this version of The Flash, Wally West.
Wally actually started as The Flash's sidekick, Kid Flash (though Speedy would have been a more fitting name, but that's the name of Green Arrow's sidekick). When Barry died in the comic series event Crisis on Infinite Earths, Wally took over the role of The Flash.
My guess is why they used the Wally West version of The Flash & not Barry Allen in the Timmverse is because of his sassy/jokey personality & he's definitely the most fun version of The Flash character I've seen.
Flash does also have a rouges gallery of villains, Wheather Wizard being one of them; Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang, The Trickster, Gorilla Grodd, Reverse-Flash & The Thinker.

This series decided to go with the Wally West Flash - there's been a lot of folks in that Flash suit. His predecessor Barry is a lot like Superman with a forensic science degree, but Wally's insecure and covers it with a cocky attitude and hot temper.
EDIT: An interesting thing with the Flashes is that they often have pretty friendly relationships with some of their villains, who often have pretty strict rules for themselves

Your impression of the Flash is wrong. First you need to know their have been multiple characters named The Flash. This version is modeled mostly after the 3rd Flash aka Wally West, which is the primary version used in this universe. Wally is a good friend of Dick Grayson in the comics and they are around the same age. So Wally is the youngest Flash.
The second Flash is Barry Allen and he is the more commonly known version of the Flash from the comics and is generally used in TV and Movie adaptions, though oddly enough a lot of plots use stuff from Wally's stories. The villain "The Weather Wizard" is one of Barry's villains from the comics.
The original Flash, Jay Garrick, is from the 1940's. He's not used in this universe but he is in other Flash shows and animated movies.
They are all solid heroes and well respected by their peers and even some of their enemies.

Without spoilers of course Barry Allen is widely considered the most popular Flash to date, the CW show and most of the movies feature Barry Allen’s Flash who is typically more stoic but quippy of course and super proficient in science: however my personal favorite Flash is Wally West the second Flash that took Barry’s place after a major comic event. Wally is mostly featured in the Justice League animated show and Young Justice both shows I grew up on and he’s my absolute favorite Flash personally, he’s much more goofy and fun loving than Barry and a lot of media tries to combine the two’s personalities and make them one character like CW and Ezra’s Flash. if you’re looking for more Flash content I highly recommend the Flashpoint Paradox which I’m sure is already on your list :)

I think the flash and superman are both the more light hearted heros in the justice league. Diana is close also, but her warrior mindset kinda limits it for her. I grew to like the flash when i was younger, just not quite as much as batman or superman. Or even spiderman.
Weather Wizard is a Flash Villain He's on The Flash's CW show, in the old Super friends stuff and in the background of other things as needed.
Flash was in all the live action and animated Super Friends stuff, in the Bruce Timm JLA, in his own CW series, in his own live action series , in his own live action film and small roll in some other things Always part of JLA. Most known for the Animated movie Flash Point which is the same plot as the Flash live action movie.
Flash is great and he has great moments in the Bruce Timm shows. You're going to love it. I like Green Lantern better however.

I think it's generally agreed that Flash IS faster than Superman, but Superman is one of the only people without the Speed Force who can keep up with him.
The new cartoon is good. So is Superman & Lois live action. Tyler Hoechlin might even be my favorite Superman actor ever.

I can't wait until you get to the Justice League series. There's a bunch of superheroes and supervillains I believe you'll enjoy.
Flash isn't Morally Grey, he'll always do the right thing, he's just not a Boy Scott like Superman, he jokes around and mess's with you but he's a good guy and he would always save his villains, in fact Flash always try to help his villains to the point his Villains actually respect him. Some even helped him at times, just minus a few exceptions *cough**Thawn*.
If you want to see more good flash content, I recommend the justice league animated series or the animated Justice league flashpoint paradox movie. The live action shows, and movie isn't as good. But you can watch whatever you want!
