In theory she could have won even more than 500 000. I auditioned for Deal or no Deal once. There was a small group of about 6 of us and a producer from the show itself. They ask you a series of questions like what you would do with the million dollars if you won and why you want to be on the show and what made you decide to audition. We never got to meet Howie Mandel or any of the suitcase models. If the producer likes what they see they call you back to go to their TV studio for a 2nd audition and from there you get to meet Howie and the Models. Unfortunately I was never selected for round 2 of auditions. It seems to help if you are in the Military or a College student. Those people get jumped to the front of the list and almost always get selected to be on the show.
Good thing Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars isn't the banker, because if the last two numbers were 750,000 and 1 million, he'd say "The best I can do is $200 and I'm taking a huge risk."
Ooooooh baby! This is just amazing how four seasons of US DOND has made my childhood. Now this....We return here, Season six or Seven? With a New Set, New Mechanic of COUNTER OFFERING and all of that has renewed my own joy for this show.
Just so happy for all the winners of big money. They all deserved to have their life change for the better. Better be safe than sorry. Congrats everyone and God Bless..
Counterdealing for 500,000 was super smart because if the banker declined then there was a 2/3 chance to get rid of the 100 and then the banker would have offered a deal of about 700,000. If she accidentally get rid of the 400,000 then there would still be 1,000,000 and so the banker would offer roughly about 500,000 anyways. There was also less of a chance to get rid of the 1,000,000.
It still surprises me because if you do the math her case was only worth on average about 450k at that point. The offer was clearly not in the bank's favor even if there was a chance the offer would have to go up, because if she did pick the million it would have gone down wayyy more
@@ChiSportsNut18 maybe they knew that the two cases in the front are 100 and 400k. And so the next offer would have been either 500k or 700k with an average of 600k, more than she was asking

Given the entire game is just random statistics, the reason the show took the counter on that last on is because it was a 2/3 chance she would eliminate something other than the million, which would then make whatever the offer is better than $500,000.
I wouldn't be upset over that whatsoever!. I'd be going into the game with mere breadcrumbs and no financial opportunities then to come out of it with financial opportunities and a smile on my face.. People really need to see the upside of it and not just what you missed out or could've had, you still won and walked away from it with so much more than what you did when you walked in the door and that is amazing.
