Thank you, Taylor! Wish I could have had the chance to teach you this one at PAX! I've been so delighted with the design and I think it'll be a regular, go-to two-player game for me for a long time to come! 💎
Haha, thank you, Mike! Even though the video was called "Splendor Duel Final" when you saw it? 🤣 (Have you ever done that? Scheduled an upload then forgot to change the title?)
I’ve thought the exact same thing, Gary! 🧠 The tokens are bigger in the original version so you wouldn’t be able to use the board from Duel, but I think you could find a way to make the concept work? And just refill the board every time you spend tokens, maybe? You’d have to play around with the idea a bit! 💎
This game felt boring and samey after about 3 plays. It also went on way too long for what it is and after a while I couldn't wait for the game to end. 9 out of 10 for this game? Thats a crazy score. The components are nice no doubt, but I don't know, I guess I just always cared about game-play more than the component quality so...
I'm sorry this one fell flat for you! Hannah and I find that our games typically take a little over 30 minutes which I don't think is too long for a medium-weight game like this! But that's the beauty of board games, right? There's something for everyone! What games would you give a 9/10? ☺️
@@BoardGameDave i dont know if id rate them 9s out of 10 but when it comes to two player only games, games like Targi, Battle Line, Watergate, Mandala, Katarenga, are waaay more fun. Non two-player specific games but excellent at two include...Azul, Carcassonne, Las Vegas Royal, Red Cathedral, Race for the Galaxy, Troyes, Agricola, Firenze to name a few
Ooo, Targi is one of my absolute favorites! It's been a while since I've played it but I'll have to get it to the table again soon! ☺️ Lots of great games in your comment for sure! Thanks for the suggestions!
You never mentioned that I always kick your butt in Splendor Duel 😉
Did that not come up? 😉 It is pretty wild how lob-sided we are at this game! You are the true Splendor Duel master! 🙇🏻♂️
I just picked this up at my FLGS and am excited to try it 👍Happy Holidays!
It’s such a great game, Billy! I’m excited for you! (And Happy Holidays!) 🎁
This game looks like it makes Splendor better the way 7 Wonders Duel made 7 Wonders better at 2 player.
I totally agree with you! Bruno Cathala seems to be the master of “duel-ifying” games! (7 Wonders Duel, Kingdomino Duel, Sobek: 2 Players…) ☺️
Great video!! Hoping to try this one soon!

Enjoyable as always

@@BoardGameDave I see, now the title makes more sense.
Haha! 🤣 It was Christmas morning and I was a little distracted!
Are you related to the TH-camr on Boardgamegeek? You have a similar voice.
I upload some of my videos over to BGG so that's probably me you're seeing over there, yes! ☺️
Wonder if it’s possible to use the spiral system in the original game?

Not fun to teach 😂
Right? I'm not sure I could think of any game I would consider "fun to teach"! 🤣 I don't know why I said that!
