hey yall!!! i am glad you guys are enjoying the video!! i wanna say: this video is mirrored, i’m right handed & i was eating with my right hand the whole time not my left hand! i’m aware of the tradition ❤️ and also! the leftover food i didn’t eat, was given away, and i took some home! for those who might’ve thought i let it go to waste lol

I’m Jamaican we cook our cow foot in a stew with Lima beans it’s very tender. Nigerians don’t cook their meat as tender as we do and use a lot more pepper than us and we like spicy but their pepper is on a never level. Jollof rice is also my favorite

Not all Nigerians cook their meat that way...some like soft meat...but as a restaurant they try to keep the texture average....(besides why have teeth and not chew ur meat lol)

The bitterleaf soup and okro soup are more medicinal than other soup there, that's probably why it doesn't gel as such. Most Nigerian food is very healthy, just need to taste it a few times and the pallet would get use to it. Where is papersoup? A Nigerian dish is not complete without papersoup...

Hi Ricki, this is my time to see your videos and I just subscribed. You are amazing, and you make it look easy to live in Africa, which is good. I’m saying this because it not easy to adapt to new culture when you are from a different continent. You are doing well, and yes, cow foot is hard to eat especially when you are not used to it. So don’t beat yourself up. You did a fantastic job with trying the different food👍🏽 I’m from Sierra Leone living in the States for now.

I’m over one year late but I hope this explanation gets to you lol. Amala is made with yam flour. The yam is partially cooked and then sun dried so oxidation happens and turns it dark. It’s then blended into a fine flour. The cow belly is tripe. Garri is cassava flakes. Egusi is essentially pumpkin seeds. Our type of pumpkins. Semo is not made of corn, it’s made of wheat, a coarse wheat called Semolina.

Hi am a new subscriber frm Jamaica 🇯🇲 and i subcribed becuz i see d caption of the nigerian recipes eating becuz we dont have african restaurants here so i just make egusi soup by nanaabas kitchen, eforiro by foodace, banga soup by chinwe Uzoma,Jollof rice by kiki Foodies and i did make chicken palmnut soup by ghanaian Sweet Adjeley at home.so i just normally ave to purchase the ingredients on etsy apps which are not here in Jamaica 🇯🇲 and they are very expensive but i try to save and buy them little by little example the locust bean used in the eforiro and tin banga. Beletete leaves banga spice for banga soup, melon seed for egusi soup i do use the green colour pumpkin seed sometimes to make the egusi soup which i bought here.i just wish moretime i had relatives frm Africa/nigeria that could bring stuff here .
