Unless, you know where a welding shop is, a buddy that works there and minor welding experience. Im a cert structural welder but i don't have equipment of my own, i think campus has these tools so imma try that.
If you go to a car repair shop you can ask if they wil do that for money or for Free
Robert Gemski The engine lathe I saw him use to make the axle isn’t something you can just make without any prior tools. A used engine lathe in ok not terrible condition is maybe 3k for the smaller ones and the bigger older ones I’ve seen for almost 20k if in pristine condition some of the brand new jet lathes I’ve seen are almost 30k. The lathe he had looked old so I’m going to guess it was in the under 10k range didn’t get a close look at it

I am new to your channel. At first I couldn't understand why you used a inverter when you could have just used a dc-to-dc converter, than I thought; maybe he's using it so that he can utilize the built-in speed control and have higher speeds than the voltage that can be provided from the battery without buying a boost converter.. brilliant! Using junk/spare parts and having fun at the same time. You are inspiring to many.

If you would ever decide to improve this mono-wheel, I think it'll be not bad to add some kind of a pedal to manage the movement by foot (instead of a cord with a joystick)

im curious about the guts of the operation, measurements and such, my head is racing with ideas for gyroscopic balance sensors mixed with using a PI and a homemade app. Think "sphero " like control with auto balancing.

A friend of mine made one of these but used three narrower tires and the two outside ones were about 26mm smaller in diameter so he could angle the board from side to side in order to make turning easier.

your work is great but i think you need to add some information like what that big stuff you taken the motor from it and what is the battery you have been used and what is the device that used for control interface and what kind of motor driver you have been used because without those information i can't Rebuild this wondreful project :)
It is amazing but can you please name the type of inverter and the description of motor. Also if there is an alternate motor available online. And where did you get the other stuff from like the controller ans self balancing system.
