One of the reasons I really like Jason's channel is the diversity of his efforts. You never know what he's gonna do next but whatever it is it will be done with great skill and excellence.
I love Yew, most of the time. It's either beautiful, like this piece or plain as can be but, mostly it's beautiful. You did a really great job with it turning this vase. Really nice, I like it! I like the light, too but I don't think it's something I can use but, I wish it was! LOL! Fun video, Jason, keep'em coming! 😊 Phil
Jason, great vase its beautiful. When leatherworkers make canteens, they melt beeswax and pour it inside all the way up and over flow it. Wait a second and then dump out the excess. Hope that will help.
Today is a 'twofer' , wood turning AND a lighting system. always an interesting video when I see ' Northwest Sawyer pop up on the screen. Thanks again Jason.
Awesome idea, Jason. I picked up that yew from the kiln last week. It has the most awesome champagne pink color. You have to see. I'm going to work on some pictures and a box or two. This weekend. I'll send some pictures.
A thought for future vases. We have a couple of wood vases in a set my wife bought which have 3 different size chemistry test tubes to hold the flowers. They make both glass and plastic. always like your wood projects.
Love the shape. As for your drilling with forstner bits on the lathe I always have my lathe speed between 250 and 300. I couldn’t tell what speed you were going so I thought I would throw you that tip if you didn’t already know. Another great video and really like the light with attaching the GoPro. 😀
Thank you! I actually started at over 600. I ended up around 200 after the first bit wasn’t cutting. Off camera I used a butterfly bit to get my depth.
Great chunk of Yew. You did a nice job with it. Can’t believe they sent you the wrong item like that. Your new light looks great as well. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Jason, nice turning video. I don’t know if you know them or not but a company called Cook Woods sells lots of exotic woods for turning and they are an Oregon business. Thanks much.
That's a nice vase, Jason. Is it for Mrs. H? And does Phil Anderson know you're coming after him lol? There you go unturning wood again (5:10). I guess some habits are hard to break. Bill

Thank you, David! You may also get a blooper or two 😉

Thank you, Phil! I have quite a bit of this wood. Perhaps I need to send you some!
@@NorthwestSawyer I'm good, I've got quite a bit, too. Thanks!
Great job Jason. That is a very nice vase.
Thank you!
I love the grain in the wood.
Me too!
Thank you for sharing❤😊
My pleasure!
That's a lovely vase with beautiful grain, nice job Jason. Like the lamp as well, gives you plenty of light to see what your doing.

Thank you, Reg!
Yew did a nice job on that vase Jason. I had to put sunglasses on because it was so bright! Great video thumbs up.
'Another 'groaner',.. and I got a laugh from it, thanks Craig.
Thank you! I may need to switch to my welding hood🤓

Wait to see it.

I actually found “propagation” tubes. Basically glass test tubes like you’re mentioning. I’ll definitely be ordering some. They’re very affordable.
nice work

Just ordered that light. Thank you.
Awesome! I’m sure you’ll be happy with it.
Beautiful ❤
Thank you!
Really enjoy watching lathe work
Thank you! I really enjoy it!

Thank you, Doug! I’m super happy with the light. The jars, not so much😂
Test tubes would make good liners for your vase's.
I found some😉
😬 heat bad😮

Thank you! I’ll check them out.
Nice light. Foreshadowing? Beautiful vase. Wondering what finish you may use after your stock of Rubio runs out. Well done.
Thank you! I’m thinking about trying the sanding sealer Phil Anderson uses.

Bill
Thanks, Bill! If by “Mrs.H” you mean my mom, yes😉
That was a lot of wood removal, But it was worth that art piece for sure. Does the pith mess with you turning projects? 🌲
Thank you! It definitely can. Especially if the wood still has any moisture in it. We’ll see how this one holds up.
Did you get the 30watt or the 60 watt?
This one is 50 watts.
Nice that deserves a comment 👏 and a dad joke. Why did the firm hire a Koala? He was Koalafied 😅😢. I didn't say it was a good dad joke 😮.
😂😂😂😂
Thank God Yew didn't wear gloves this time
😐
