Our pet birds need a certain level of stimulation and activity in order to feel engaged, motivated and fulfilled. If your bird will go too long without that certain level of stimulation and activity, the boredom is going to kick in, which will affect your bird's mood in a bad way.
In this video, we will talk about 5 signs that indicate your bird is struggling with boredom, and I'll explain how you can keep your birds happy and busy.

Apparently, my birdies are not bored. They eat normally, have healthy feathers, chirp almost nonstop, run around the cage and play with their toys constantly. Yippee! 😄

my bird does the opposite of most of these so thank you! for letting me if my bird is bored, and omg this video came in perfect timing, my bird stopped plating with his toys and now i know why so i ordered many new toys and now i switch them off every week or move them around in the cage

I wish I had known more about budgies before I got my first two, they came to me when my MIL got Alzheimers. I did learn a little from people at the pet store. (This was somewhat before Internet was widely used) I don't think I did a very good job though. The birds were obviously bored and spent too much time in the cage due to my job commitments. People told me "they're OK, they have each other to play with" and I accepted that.

I sometimes have very important calls and my parrot is standing on my parrot cage perch but I always change the perch position and change food water and toys and let it explore more parts of my house and garden but not the kitchen stove and toilet

I will change my bird's toys more. They love their swings, their kabob and their boing. They also love chewing wood and paper. My 2 budgies love their veggies so I love trying new foods like sweet potatoes, corn, carrots, spinach and others. I love following your videos.

I've rescued a budgie this week. Im working on finding her an ethically-sourced buddy, but in the meantime I have her fly free in the room and she wants to sit up in the light fixtures or the over-the-cage perch very quietly. I feel like im overrelying on bribing her with millet spray to get her engaged or to forage trying out new toys. I'm sure she's going through depression, and I hope a suitable buddy turns up soon. Playing bird sounds only seems to make her lonlier.

Actually before one of my birds kermit went to the vets she wasn't chirping playing she was sitting on one branch and didn't move around now ever since she came back she is playing around with her favourite toy chirping and preening or feeding with teddy

Well this doesn't have to do anything with the video but I am just asking on how can I make a vitamin mixture for my budgies?
I have two bugies and they are blue they are named Peter and Lily and I grabbed a tissue and grabbed Peter and then he was on my finger
Its me again if you remember me, the one who was getting the cockatiel, i got it! But its a whole ‘nother story.
So on the 14th of august, me and my mum were told the cockatiel we were getting wasn’t tame, bit alot, hated people and was an aviary bird. So we decided not to get it and went down to my mums good friend who sold all types of birds,
Chickens, ducks, geese, peacocks, and many others, she also had cockatiels and budgies! We went there and apparently all her budgies and cockatiels were stolen, but she offered to call a friend who had cockatiels, we said okay and sadly he had none either, but he said he had kakarikis! At first we didn’t know what it was, but we took it for 70 pounds. Turns out kakarikis are sold for up to 800 pounds! (921 dollars) so we got a really good bird for a super cheap price!
She is a turquoise kakariki, her name is kiwi and turquoise is the rarest colour for kakarikis, so double bonus!

So I got 2 male parakeet a little more than a week ago. I'm very concerned that my budgies are bored the over pruning, staying in one place, and not chirping mutch at first I thought they are afraid of me and my kids...but after a week they are still not moving mutch, they have a very big cage, they eat out of our hand pellets, seeds and millet but they won't come out of the cage or move frome the favorite perch, and don't chirp much. what am I supposed to do?

The best place to get a budgie is from a rescue center or a caring sanctuary Or a breeder. If you want one from a breeder then make sure the breeder takes good care of their budgies. Don't buy birds from any normal pet store. Because most pet stores's birds are depressed and bored and have short lives. But if you want to buy an injured or disabled budgie and you want to help it. Then I won't stop u from that because thats a very good thing!

I have a problem with my little, blue budgie, Sugar. One day I went on on a 2 day holiday with my friends. I left My Bird under my Family's care. When I got back though, She bit we on the fingers every time I persisted to persuade Sugar to hop onto my finger so I could take her out of her cage.( This was been going on for YEARS!!!) I watch you channel every time your post incase you have the answer to my problem. I take in all of you advice yet she STILL bites. I don't know what's wrong! she isn't depressed, she has a big cage for only her, she isn't bored for she has 4 toys that she uses regularly, she has no balled patches anywhere, she is cared for and loved and we clear her cage EVERY 2 days. Also She EATS her news paper which is VERY weird. Sorry for the long message. PLEASE if anyone knows what's going on let me know.

I usually have face to face school and im buying a budgie next month. Is it okay for a budgie to stay in a cage for 8 hours while im at school? My parents wont be able to entertain my bird cause theyre both gonna be at work. Pls give some tips (i promise i will let them out when i wake up and put them back in before going out)
8 hours? that's not good for budgies they require lots of attention mostly if u are only getting one.i don't think a bird is really right for you ( nothing is wrong with u it's the lack of attention they get)birds are very social animals u can get) u can always get a pet that dosent need as much attention.

My birds love playing with their toys, but when I get a new one they stop playing with the old ones and play with the new one
I fixed my two birds' boredom by simply letting them live in the whole apartment and I just seem to be allowed to live with them to provide seeds, snacks, veggies and water :D ah well what wouldn't we do for our feather-fluff friends.
Hi! i've been really catching with school stuff and my exams are coming up, I find myself neglecting my birds sometimes. How can I fix that?
(they are in a 29in wide cage and 12in breath idk the hhight but its like the width doubled)
You can move branches around the cage for them to explore you can get new toys and when you cant entertain them feel free to put budgie noises on that's what i do when im busy you can even make home made toys you can search up youtube tutorials and what most owners do is they get some paper take out a miller and wrap paper on top of it becaise budgids can eat paper it will be a fun activity as they rip apart the paper and their rewawrd is a millet which is inside
but don't put in inked paper it is dangerous and paper with ink can kill a budgie only use plain white paper

I just got my birds (2) 4 days ago and they run side to side, beak grind, preen and chirp and make noise. They just dont use any of the toys i got them :(

Well, I'm not sure if my budgie is bored.. but I have a feeling he is not. He plays with his toys especially with his favorite toy the mirror, he keeps yelling non-stop everyday eats normally drinks normally and dances too.😂
He needs a companion! Really makes a huge difference in their lives. Not much extra work or cleaning to do to have two. I hope you consider my advice 😊
My birds partner died so hes been bored and depressed I got him new toys and interact with his everyday since his partner died I wanna get those CVD treats for him

hi if ur bird won't play with it I think they think it's a predator u can try playing with the toy yourself with ur hand while the toy is outside of the cage so bird is interested more

Why do budgies always stay away from me when I just buy them?
Because they're not stuffed animals their real-life birds it takes a long time to build. Start holding a little piece of militant your hand and let the bird come and take is just hold real still and the bird will come.
