I sold plumbing supplies for 11 years and encouraged customers to buy ball valves. When ask if they were good, i would hand them a closed ball valve and told them to open, if had never been opened before it would make popping sound from being pressurized. What i like about Sharkbite fittings they go back in the exact space of a copper fitting.
Nothing like working in a nice clean basement this is a set up. Show laying under a wet crawl space no room cold mud. Come on master plumber OH yea call your aprance😊
Great video! We use shark bite fittings whenever possible, however, a no stop 3/4 coupler pro press fitting would have made the last connection a little easier if there was no play in those lines with water still running. Awesome work Ben and Sharkbite Plumbing!

Had a cold water main go bad under the house. Could get to the break as it was on a pier and covered in bush roots (bush is gone!). Ran everything back in pex. Hardest part was getting under house. Had several sub zero days in texas this year. No breaks but my cutoff outside (ran it through beam vent hole) did freeze. Heat gun fixed it. Sadly the handle broke when i was checking it. Oh well. Still have meter valve.
Sharkbite is the plumber's best friend. Of all the repairs they make this one fails the most often. Job security. It takes about 1 minute longer to use solder.
Did you recommend replacing the shut-off valve? Also, if it gets cold enough there to freeze a pipe in the basement is the hose bib a frost free type? If not, did you recommend replacing with a frost free type?
Hi there,I'm from nc,I'm not a plumber but I'll be doing all my repairs, I've done 3 so far with cvpc, and as you talked about my water still wants to run or drip fast after turning off the valve. And putting glue on it is tuff. So I've bought a lot of new tools, for pex A and pex B And I've bought the pipe and the tees, the coupling, also some sharkbite fittings. I'm almost ready for anything. My home runs off a well. You should see the mess under my home.looks like some how they mixed cvpc with pvc pipe.whice is hard to do. I don't have money for a real plumber. And I'm 65 a usmc disability veteran. So crawling under the house is hard. Do you know if they make something that would warn me.if my well pump don't shut off due to leaks ?

@@ruizbuildersincI have one installed in my house and it saved me hundreds of dollars in repairs. I can confirm what you’re saying and I’ve shared it with my neighbors as well. I also have the same device installed in my stores that I own, never had issues with my plumbing but it’s a piece of mind knowing that my merchandise isn’t going to be damaged by flooding. Very handy advice sir thanks 😊

@user-yj7yn4fi4l Yes... I got a valve or a union after the valve to choose from. My friend said go from valve, as that leaves less to go wrong. Made sense. Thank you for getting back to me
10-15 minute repair $3-5k 😂😂😂 i know plumbers like to charge out their a$$ for some ridiculously simple stuff , on another note it is very odd that it bursted in that basement with the furnace right by it , it makes no sense unless is not completely enclosed

A master who can not solder, interesting.

Also impressive how well insulated the heating ducts are.

Those shark bite fitting work great . Just used two of them .
THANKS for TEACH this plumbing repair only you don't show where you loose the pipe to insert into the LAS coupling shark bite
this dude should have a maybelline contract. thx for the info.

I'm not a plumber but my pipes and cut offset are 20 years old
Can you do that with the rod that goes in side an outdoor Fosset
Would you consider replacing that section with PEX?
y wood u when its coppa
Why not? I had copper. Pex was way cheaper. Decide on pex a or b
I chose the more freeze safe.
Did you tell the homeowner to take out a 2nd mortgage to pay you !

Hey guy, great video. What area are you guys in?
Pex with those types of connections are nearly indestructible my pipes froze 6 times and never leaked
Can you go galvanized to sharkbite to pex A? I think you can but is there a better way to get from galvanized to pex A?
Make different pipe system connections at a threaded junction.

Freeze break in the middle of a basement ? That's strange

Wish I could repair my burst pipe without surgery 😔
Getting old is the worst. I would advise anyone else against doing it.
😊A Nohub band should do the trick.
How’d I get here
Apparently no one ran t h e water for a couple days and it was very Cold
I know how to do that myself
Master
I sense the sarcasm..... These guys are idiots the question mark would help them understand.

AYO?
Burst pipes are on the owner of the property they can be prevented

I see 2 unions, this has failed before in the same spot…..
It appears you need more sleep in your life. Take it easier, eh?
Never take advice from someone who uses the word ' burst' instead of 'busted'
Q You are going to happen
The problem with shark bite is that it restricts flow, not speaking as a plumber, speaking from experience. 😇
This is actually a common myth! Check out this flow test: th-cam.com/users/shortsHFZTlWJ4fyc?feature=share
Who cares. A lot of BS to overcharge a customer.
They are SPIGOTS, not "spickets".
