  • “All of us shared that sense of vision of what could possibly be done with a small group of climbers, as light as we could, and as fast as we could.”
In 1978, an elite team of American alpinists set off for an unclimbed peak in the remote mountains of Pakistan. The infamous attempt is now considered one of the greatest failures in the history of Amerian alpinism.

Style matters. Commitment - to each other, to the route. One of the best alpine-style teams ever on an elegant line. The apex of the sport.

    Great document.
On the video side, I would have removed many transitions that hide the details of the photos. Adding a snow effect, fog or movement on all photos doesn't help.

Bill Tilman spelled his name with one 'l' (well, three if you count the two in 'Bill')

And again what did you accomplished to the Humanitarian Effort. Just stay away from the mountain. You have nothing to gain.

I, for one, am much richer and happier and have a greater imagination because of this and countless other historic climbing expeditions I can read and learn about.

@@craighall3820 I have more appreciation of the Lewis and Clark Expedition just because a Mountain has no purpose for We the People. I have no problem with Space Expedition because we currently have Satellites for example that monitor Weather and are used for Our (We the People) Strategic Defense/Offense. I just don't see how Society gains anything from a Mountain Expedition. It is only a Personal Accomplishment like Running a Marathon.
