Very odd indeed, I wonder if there is a parameter that is not set correctly...
it's to make it compliant to the ebike laws in many of the states. class 2 ebike: max for throttle only = 20 mph, class 3 ebike: max for pedal-assist = 28 mph.
I will stay with my wife's Engine Pro V1. I want top speed with throttle only. The battery will rattle if you don't use something to fill the small space in the frame.

I have model 1.0 and while it’s ok overall you need to loctite every bolt or they tend to loosen up on you every 100 miles.
I had that issue on the rear rack of most all bikes but nothing else. You be abusing the bikes or what lol
@@MrCentralDriver no just regular road riding and some mild gravel paths. I have two Engwe bikes and it seems to be pretty common to the brand for the bolts to loosen

Good review! Thanks for posting. I kind of agree. I am really tempted by the Engwe bikes. The only problem is getting to max speed. If they are listening, and would remove those limits, they would have one hell of a line up!
I have the Vitilan i7 pro. Does 30 on throttle only and I weight 285, climbs hills on throttle only at 25 mph against the wind. 48v system. Only downside is that it kills the battery fast but they just released an upgrade 20ah battery. AND you can get it for 1200. Engwe went forward with the battery but backwards with the controller.

I think the point of the horns on these bikes is to alert pedestrians and other riders and not to alert cars or trucks. That's why they sound puny.
I like people that put train horns on their bikes.
One of their competitors is Wallke. Might be wrong but the Wallke bikes are a bit better range and speed.

I have a similar bike and the throttle came like that out of the box like that but I could re-jigger it in the P settings so the throttle would max out the bike's speed.
How did you do it? I have the same issue out of the box
Is there anything you could do with the speed? 20mph limit on throttle only and 28mph limit on PDA is a step down in comparison to 1.0

Just unlock the top speed. It has a top speed of 63kmpu!
I was interested at first because I much prefer the torque sensors. But the fact the speed is that low when I'm sure it could go faster is disappointing. I wonder if there's an unlock feature?
Apperently there isn't but maybe someone can hack it.
About the key position, why can't Engwe flip the position of the battery so the key is on the top side of the rail, would just take flipping the receiver also
that would probably cost some r&d to change because all the folding frames they have are setup like this.
OMG. Voltage alone does NOT give you extra power! Please ask electrician before making this statement ))) And some more tips: So you'll be experiencing famous Chinese quality: screws get rusty after 4 rains, misaligned brake callipers, noise from the motor starts to appear when you're going up to the hill in 2-3 months . And speed of the bike is different depends on the battery charge. And Chinese manufacture dose not provide real numbers for power ...Zero support. But cheap and not bad as a first e-bike. But no way to buy it again ))

That seat is far too low for you. You shouldnt be able to put your feet flat on the floor. Your bent knee should be with foot on the pedal not flat on the floor. It looks silly with you on it.Your supposed to stop peddling when you change gears because you will mash your gears carrying on peddling.

@@MrCentralDriver Can you try to unplug speed display info. If bike couldn't read what speed your are going so it can't limit you.
Those frames are approaching 10 years old, so many different companies using that frame, different colors and cast or spoke wheels, not a lot of differences
with how fast it hits 20 throttle only this bike seems like it would cruise 30-35 mph if only there is a way to go in the controller and disable the speed restraints 🤔.

The clunky sound is the battery bouncing around in the frame. Other 25:54 people has added some foam in between the battery and frame to stop the noise

No, not seen any frame breakage on the latest frame version. Only on the previous one. It's been a year I have been watching multiple photos of broken engine pro frames and they are always the previous frame model.
@@jimmyberubelevesque2557 this bikes been out a few weeks. The frame snapping on the 1.0 didn’t start showing until about 3 months in. So, that’s why you’ve not seen any frame snaps yet. Same material, same crappy mid suspension, same design but with added torque.

@@ModProjects4306 i am not refering to this v2..... But the normal engine pro.. There have been several frame versions on the regular engine pro. And I have not seen one single frame snapping on the latter version. Only the one from 2022 and older. The 2023 frame have had few changes. Notice the differences.. Every time there are photos of snapped frames notice the upper and lower brace.
It needs to have dual motors for me and dual battery capability
It has dual battery option on the Engwe website..You can order an extra 52v 13ah battery complete with a new modified rear carrier rack and taillight assembly..Engwe have a video with fitting and connection instructions..simple.

That rattle is the battery.
I came to find out it was the extra key hanging.
@MrCentralDriver definitely battery I've got the same frame and it's the battery compartment is slightly to big for the battery you have to add a bit of packing to it and it sorts it out. The keys don't make that knocking sound. Usually they put a couple of felt stickers on the battery but they are not good enough. I've had to do this for every spare battery I have it's just the way its designed. 👍🏻

I’m about to buy it from Bulgaria. Will use it in Bursa. Such a shame to change a country to buy a just an ebike.
I have the Engwe Engine Pro Upgraded model from last year. I'm very disappointed in the new 2024 version in your review. I can get to 32 MPH on my bike, I am not a fan that they slowed the new bike down.
I have the same but it's almost 42km in average and when the battery 100% going to 45

In NYC ebikes batteries need to have a UL stamp or sticker. I have noticed that you don't mention if it have one. Due to batteries catching on fire I'm sure other states will start requiring the same as NYC

If you care to check numerous better informed video's featuring the Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 on TH-cam, you will discover the speed limit restiction, throttle settings etc can all be customised to your personal preferences including removing the 20mph throttle speed limit and 28mph pedalling speed limit entirely if you prefer.

If you put in( unlock engwe engine 2.0) I think it's an app that comes with the bike? And then there are a couple on TH-cam that show you how. Looking to buy the bike but only if i'm certain I can Unlock it.
