Wow, Diane is a great painter, teacher and an all-around lovely lady. I also love the fact that this episode was 55 minutes long which gave her time to explain things and really have fun with colors.
She's absolutely right, I have been looking at nature differently since watching Bob and Alexander videos. Now I can see the dark areas in the trees and how the clouds would be painted using various techniques. It's amazing. I've always loved nature more than anything, but now I look at the same trees and rocks and see them as if for the first time. Thank you for opening my world up even more.
Same here Valencia. Have been learning from Bill, Diane, Buck and company for the past 6 months. Practicing every day, and I too have found myself noticing the lights and the darks!!
How am I just now discovering her???? She’s absolutely brilliant, talented and so freaking informative. Absolutely remarkable artist and fantastic teacher.
Bill the master , Diane and Bob the remarkable students They teach very well Love that woman, she explain very well the technic thank you again for this video 🙏🙂
Definitely do! And if you feel like sharing when you’re finished please share it on our Facebook page 😊. facebook.com/share/g/YpZLmQxEJ4S83RtP/?mibextid=K35XfP
Excellent tutorial, love how you take time to show us what you’re doing, & showing us how the brushes should look. Thanks so much, you inspire me to try this 👍😊
Wonderful tutorial!!! I'm a long time admirer of Bill's work, I was on the verge of giving up, when I accidentally came across one of his videos and said to myself "i can do that!" I learn so much from all these amazing artists, Although I'm teaching myself to work with acrylics not oils, these tutorials are a gift... I've recently treated myself to an Alexander palette knife and I adore it's versatility. Thank you so much for these inspirational videos,! ❤❤❤
@@bio-plasmictoad5311 And that my friend is what I love about acrylics. I paint in oil, acrlics and watercolor. Love them all for there own special appeal and characteristics. Happy painting
Diane really wanted you to learn. When she did this video she knew she was going to make alot of painters happy like me rite now.I cannot believe what I just did tnx to this video.I was not putting enough paint for the highlight to stick and looks so gorgous.I wasted so much money.I just wish i knew how to make the trees .i know its another trick.Godbless them all. They made me happy while i painted.
Tina I’m so happy Diane showed you how to highlight. We have some courses and workshops that help people stop wasting money and learn to paint quickly. In fact we will show you how to mix your colors from yellow red and blue so you don’t have to buy 16 colors!
I was gonna say the same thing! My god! She's just incredible!! I love watching her paintings. I love watching Bill too, but as you said, Diane goes into great detail
I noticed that too. Especially the part where to highlight trees you load your brush full of paint then dip into a little magic white then tap the brush back into the color a few times
@@lisasmith7367 I feel the same! I have not been able to make trees like Bob or Bill, and was getting really discouraged but now I feel like I might be able to do it! I'm surprised though that Bill doesn't do that, or at least he doesn't show it. Her videos are far more descriptive and have been a great help
Excellent example very good ideas for making decisions about different colors and the work is very nice and beautiful design with This drawing Thanks you for your monument landscape
First time seeing her. So sorry she's no longer here. I googled her.. a lovely lady. Love her work. She sometimes sound just like Bill Alexander😊 And BTW I love birch trees.
I was thrilled to see this pop up in my feed!!! Bill was my inspiration and I learned SO much from him. My favorite part was when he would say "fire it in, just fire it in!" With his accent. So fun to have found this, thank you!!

Wow youvare a amazing artist!. I wish I could find a instructor. I am having a hard time finding a class. Thankyou so much for your teaching and repeating your self. I need that.
Two words. William Alexander. I believe that he was a fairly close relative. My father is also named William Alexander. He’s now 90. My Grandfather was from Amsterdam, and my Grandmother was from Munich. Even W.Alexander’s hands seemed familiar. We noticed a very close family resemblance with him. My father was a glassblower. In the 90’s, my sister and I tried to contact to see if there is any family relation, but no one responded. That was before internet communications. I still believe this may be so. My great uncles went to S.Africa around the turn of the century. Whenever I watched him, I felt as though I was watching a great uncle, or cousin of one of them. Especially his hands. I would love to find if this is true?!? The legend is that they left Russia and Prussia to escape the oligarchy of the czars. My uncle was professor of Western Civilization Stonybrook, N.Y. and my Dad, William Alexander, was in research and development at Texas Instruments, (His boss, Jack Kilby was later awarded the Nobel Prize for that.) and developed the microchip before he went into glassblowing with borosilicate glass in the 50’s and through the 70’s. He was the pioneer of that. I have always wanted to find out about this! My Father’s uncles were Nicklaus, Adam, Frank, and maybe more. My Grandfather helped his brothers escape Europe because Germany wanted to inscript them into military service in WWII, and my great uncles helped Jews hide. My GF sentcheap cases of cigarettes from America to help fund their travel to America.

Oil is more forgiving, used it for nearly 20 years and highly recommend the medium. For me acrylic dries far to quickly.
I do some of these techniques with acrylics as well for the past ten years. They turn out very well.
