Definitely give the 900 another ride. I haven't ridden the 1200 myself, but I brought a 900 GT pro late last year and it just ticks all the boxes. Still has all the bells and whistles (maybe missing 1 or 2 that the 1200 now has) but it still has plenty of power and it's super nimble. I did about 6000km's over 2 weeks in a road trip to the SI earlier this year and it didn't miss a beat. Even though I have the GT, I just chucked some 50/50 tyres on and could do the likes of Rainbow/Danseys/Skippers, pretty much the only kind of riding most people would want to do on a bigger adventure bike. You can get the same panniers and things too, I just went with Givi ones, they're the same as the triumph branded boxes just without the extra price tag.

I rode the 900 and 1200 at demo days. The 1200 is heads above the 900. Much nicer bike and its not even close.
