    "Stand back while I hurt myself", was the favourite saying of my good friend from Alabama, he never did,😊 but at least he gave fair warning.
    Good job on your coast property, thats a lot of work, you'll have plenty of firewood, you might have to spend a bit more time there 👍

      It’s still hot at the other place and the smoke is even worse now. So I am happy to stay here for a while longer at this point. 😀

      A lot of times I watch videos over breakfast. I have been getting behind on yours the last couple weeks, haven’t had much time for watch videos. One of these days maybe I will get a chance to do some binge watching.

    Id use wood like that to build me a shed or a pole barn kinda thing for storing tools/equipment/logs/timber whatever. Perhaps even with a minimal living area so i could sleep there after a day of graft. Pump some water up from the spring/ Few solar panels and one of those 'evo' ? power bank batterys. Damn you could have a nice setup up there !

    Thanks for having a video for me this morning, you got a good amount of brush & blow downs bucked up!
    Your ford is to new to off road lol

    • @WilsonForestLands
      @WilsonForestLands  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is too new for that. It’s something I have been thinking about every day. I may need to find an older one to keep at this property.

    Ooooooh man the safety police are going to have a field day with this one!
    You'd have been a fine WV hilljack, sir.

      To make it with logging you have to figure out how to be clever once in a while.

    The most feared words in (any) language: "Hey guys! Watch this...!" (Followed by; "Hey Sarge, what's this button do?")
    I think that tree deserves to stay in place, with a plaque designating it as a helpful assistant in the "Great Clean-up of '23."
    'Sides, it can always act as a lift-point in future endeavours!
    Well done, sir.
    Cheers from (a once-again, smoky) Willamette Valley.

    • @WilsonForestLands
      @WilsonForestLands  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am sure nothing has ever gone wrong after someone asked, “what’s this button do” 😁
      It depends on whether that hung up tree stays alive or not. If it dies, after a year or two in the coastal rainforest, that trees strength will start quickly rotting away.

  • @mikehughes2026
    @mikehughes2026 ปีที่แล้ว

    “He ain’t heavy, he’s my Brother”. Nice job. Since that tree is super-hung up, you gonna leave it for a few seasons to do this again? Take care 🇺🇸🇺🇸

    • @WilsonForestLands
      @WilsonForestLands  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on if it stays alive or dies. If it stays alive I probably will. If it dies, it will quickly start rotting here in the coastal rainforest and lose its strength.

      How about building a permanent "lifting buck" for getting the splitter on and off the trailer?

    now you gotta go back and get the sawmill to make some ramps to get it back on the trailer. LOL

      I would not have criticised you if it had not worked as planned though. Having worked alone for 20 years you have to think outside the box. I have failed many times. They key is to go slow and be as safe as practically possible. I would get nothing done if I did not take calculated risks. Well done. @@WilsonForestLands

    Note to self. Version 2 of the log splitter shall have an axle with suspension, highway rated tires and a tow bar.

    • @WilsonForestLands
      @WilsonForestLands  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes that would be nice. But if this one had all that it probably wouldn’t fit in the trailer and it would be more difficult to be able to bring them both at the same time on the same trip.

    So how did you get the splitter back into the trailer to take it home when you were done? I know you didn't leave it there.

  • @moonmunster
    @moonmunster ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you run the splitter while it is still on the trailer?

    • @WilsonForestLands
      @WilsonForestLands  ปีที่แล้ว

      I could but I would have to somehow lift the rounds up that high. Then I wouldn’t be able to fill up the trailer with wood.
