So true. I have an acquaintance in my University program who I talk to sometimes and partnered with for a couple group assignments. In my year of that program, there are 60 people including me and him. One day, he randomly unfollowed me, but still followed the majority of other people in the program. I don’t understand because we were friendly with each other, and I helped him a couple times, and even partnered with him. That unfollow hurt me for some reason.
I just assume they have gone bats hit crazy or were envious. It happens. But I think unfollowing people is lame and unkind especially now that there is a mute button. I would be very careful about calling such a person your friend because they intentionally wanted to hurt you.

If you’re over 30 , we remember times pre social media . It’s odd we can all be pseudo celebrities now, and deal with following or be followed by 100s-1000s of people . I guess I deal with it by telling myself, only those who are contributing tangible things to my life (love, money, in person time,etc) , are the ones I need to be concerned with.
When you get unfollowed it's because trashbags are following you in hopes that you're going to follow them back and when they realize that you're not going to the unfollow you and they do it in batched so some days I'm getting 18 followers and the next day I just stay at 0 gain it's disgusting

I usually get 100 follow per week or more and 18 or 20 unfollows but as sooner as i hit 1k I've been getting the same amount of followers but my unfollows are getting more 40-50 unfollow per week and my account is growing slowly now i don't know what to do will this last forever

My MIL, she doesn't like me, always hot and cold, but I managed to develop what I thought was a good relationship with her at one point. Guess she just felt like going back to square one because I had added her on social media after being hesitant, then eventually she unfollowed me. At 75 years old, still playing games like that, the woman needs help. She kept the rest of the family and made the excuse she doesn't use social media anymore LOL. She gets off on pissing me off, can't stand that I might actually have a life. I unfollowed and blocked her. Guess now she won't be seeing my new house or my upcoming vacation. Apparently I'm not interesting or worthy enough of her attention. Suck to be her I guess....boohoo🤣
