When I was a child way back in the 1950’s, there was a dude ranch called Swan Lake Ranch. The ranch was enclosed in twenty foot high walls where over twenty beautiful male peacocks would sit on the top of those walls and their tails would drape almost to the bottom of those walls. Every evening at twilight you could hear their cries as they called to each other. My Grandfather always said they made the best “watch dog” security system. Even after sixty years--I can still hear those cries! I have seen many peacocks since then, but they never look as majestic as the ones that use to sit upon those walls so long ago.
I use to sell my peacock feathers every year to a local hoppy shop in Nor California - $2 per feather in the 80s. Why would you kill the bird that lays the gold eggs / feathers?! Our bird left is mate and hung out with us eating our cat chow, hanging our with our cats and nesting in a 20ft oak tree at night. It crapped everywhere and made a lot of 100db noise from 'help' to 'Ka Ka Ka!' waking me up every morning.
The Como Zoo in st Paul Minnesota sold peacock feathers that they gathered when the peacocks molt. I've seen some wreaths also with peacock feathers. Beautiful.

My neighbor owns a farm filled with peacocks and i must say they are beautiful birds and very exotic to look at from a far rather than get closer to one i don't want to get attacked by one
Where I came from there's a lot of humming birds, and as a young girl growing up used to admire these birds,colorful and fascinating with their wings, now i get a chance to admire peacocks with lots of beautiful color which i never knew exist. Its relaxing to watch this video not only for me but i sent it to my siblings especially the one in Australia since she is a nature person lovely what God has created for us to enjoy.

I have seen both white and naturally albino peacocks: the man made white ones don’t hold a candle as there is still cream and yellow pigmentation in the feathers and skin, making the white one truly not white. An albino, while possibly being seen as tragic, have no pigmentation but maintain the sheen of its natural self, and the feathers shine with a bright, pure whiteness like fresh snow. Breeding cannot capture such a color as the white peacock appears duller and yellowish. A feature of natural peacocks is that their plumage has a bright sheen, something that gets easily lost is selective breeding. As they say nature beats humans 100% of the time and never misses or loses.

I miss the days when male peacocks could roam freely around the San Diego Zoo. Once I was lucky to pick up a stray feathers off the ground. At the time peacock feathers were going for five bucks each in the gift shop.
The most beautiful peacocks are the colorful ones you find in nature, the grey, brownish and black peacocks that people breed are not very attractive maybe people should not mess around with nature because you can't really improve what God already created.
