I wanted to add a quick note: You CAN use the BetterPress Plates with the Glimmer Hot Foil System. You can't use the Gimmer Plates with the BetterPress. I hope this helps:)

I appreciate the demo, and the two cards are beautiful. I love the simple elegance of the letterpress as well. I saw their teaser pre-release demo and put this system on my wish list.

I currently own an old letterpress system that “went away” several years ago. Haven’t been able to part with it, but of course it’s collecting dust. I have tons of hard plastic “dies” that were used in that system.
This one looks more efficient. And I especially like how Spellbinders improved the ink application.
This will most certainly go on my wish list. So simple, yet elegant. As always, thank you, Tina! Love it when you demo new products!
I have some of those plastic dies as well. And I’m wondering if they’ll work in the Betterpress.
Hi Wendy, the BetterPress plates have about the same thickness as a dime. If you take a dime and place it next to your plastic plates and the measurement is the same, I am willing to bet they will work. But if they are any thicker than a dime, I don't think they will. I hope this helps:)

Clear plate is called the Platen pronounced like captain. The handle platform is called the Chase.

Your cards are just stunning.....but I understand you can use alcohol markers with this ink. Please let me know if I am wrong. I would certainly hate to ruin a card! Thanks for sharing! Ciao:)
Thank you Debbie:) BetterPress Ink is an oil-based dye ink, ideal for coloring with watercolor, colored pencils and other dye inks. While technically possible to color with alcohol markers, you may get feathering.
Tina, your cards are so beautiful! ❤ I simply love your channel~and what's not to love? I am just struggling with buying another gadget for creating. Does anyone have any thoughts?
My thoughts on this is that if it’s not a resounding yes then wait. This hobby should be joy and not struggles. The more uncertainty we add to the process the less joy we have in creation. ❤
For me, it was a definite yes as soon as I saw the demo. If you’re hesitant, I would wait though. It’s not going anywhere.
Lots of people (myself included) are stating that we have lots of supplies that we are not using. I'm waiting until they offer a larger variety of additional plates to make it worthwhile. For now, I don't want to be stuck with a product that has a limited use in case the Letter Press doesn't sell well a is discontinued.
I was disappointed in the few die cutting machines it works with unless I missed something.
