  • In the spirit of the holidays, I will be giving away $250 to one person who likes, comments, and subscribes if I do not guess correctly who the doctor is!
    This was a lot of fun to make and hope you enjoyed it.

    I'm not in the medical field, or even adjacent to it, but I know the difference between "inter" and "intra". That right there was a red flag for #1, because it's just so basic.

    My first choice was 6 because of her confidence and knowledge. She reminded me of my own optometrist: friendly and wise. Number 1 was my second choice because she seemed to have the most real responses. But, now I can see why she is marketing.

      @@lovenoirrr colour cones aren't really specifically clinically important. So I am not surprised she forgot. As a vet student I could tell you what colour cones are in dogs. But I have no fucking clue, never learnt, and don't really need to know what colour cones are in cats, horses, rabbits, sheep, cows etc. It just isn't clinically relevant.😮

    you can see at 8:13 that number 6 was nodding in agreement which none of the other candidates did. thats one thing that stood out to me for number 6.

    I knew right away it was her! She fumbled on the "color" question, but she didn't fumble on anything else or beat around the bush. And I've been to eye doctor many times, and her answers were so detailed and confident. And I wouldn't expect an eye doctor to know how to revive someone. The Urologist was the most obvious fake. He knew nothing about what urologists do😂. And the pediatrician, who was my alternative guess, blew it with the phimosis comment. No one treats phimosis in babies. Foreskins aren't able to be retracted until the child is much older. If it would've been her, I was gonna say, "If I ever have a baby boy, I'm keeping him away from her!😂The dermatologist couldn't answer the easiest question and made so many gaffes. How could they possibly think it was her?
    I also think that the Asian guy was pre-med, based on his knowledge.

    I loved watching your review of this! Thanks for sharing. I also wondered why they had an optometrist instead of an ophthalmologist, and a PT instead of someone in Ortho. But happy they participated either way, because this was interesting to watch.
    On another note: as someone who worked in ophthalmology for years, yes - traumatic glaucoma is very much a thing. That answer was actually the one that tipped the scale for me to think she WAS the doctor lol.

      @@AdamNessimcan get traumatic hyphema with pressure spike or chronic glaucoma (angle recession) but very possible can also get traumatic cataracts. we always ask for a history of trauma prior to cataract surgery and if present look for phacodonesis (lens instability) 😊(one of the few times we get to bang on the exam table to look for lens shake lol) great segment thanks for uploading

    It's interesting these used a real and fake healthcare professional with a degree that entitles them to use 'Dr' because the title makes you think it's all physicians/MDs/DOs. In the UK, where I practice, pharmacists, optometrists etc don't use the title 'Dr'.

    You should be suspicious of Dr. Nicole answering wrong on the 3 main colors that our eyes perceive instead of the nerf gun story she told. I still can't believe a real eye specialist answered wrongly on one of the easiest questions about the eye.

    It's amazing how you assume a DPT is not a "real" doctor. As a PMR doc, you will work with many DPTs, and I hope your experience with them changes your mind. As a sports medicine doc, your medical interventions only temporarily treat pain and come with terrible long-term side effects (i.e injections, NSAIDS, other pain medications). None of these interventions offer an actual solution to the problem or prevent the problem from reoccurring. If sports med docs knew everything, why do they have to refer to DPTs and ATCs? Sadly, in 2023 MSK medicine still sucks. It does more harm than good. Please check out DPT school MSK curriculums and compare to the best of the best medical schools, you are in for a surprise. Your 2 to 3 weeks of training are very subpar at best. Furthermore, your PMR residency and sports medicine fellowship still only teach you how to train pain. If 10 years of school is what makes you a real doctor, then I am glad I'm just a PT. I look forward to seeing your patients doc!

    • @AdamNessim
      @AdamNessim  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think DPT is a doctor in the sense you have a doctorate. But if you are trying to find the “physician” amongst the group I was surprised they used a PT in this video. I love physical therapists and think their work is extremely important.

    • @tommywyattdpt
      @tommywyattdpt ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AdamNessim DPTs are doctors in the exact same sense as physicians aka doctorate in medicine. The video was titled "find the real doctor" not "find the real physician". I just want to ensure, that you are not undermining the education of a physical therapist, and spreading misinformation that PTs are not doctors. We diagnose and treat with full direct access, just like you. And we treat a lot more than pain. The days of MDs thinking they are above other healthcare professionals is coming to an end. We can only work as a team if we respect and understand the educational and training backgrounds of each other.

    • @AdamNessim
      @AdamNessim  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@tommywyattdpt i do not think physicians are any better or worse than physical therapists, both play important roles. but it seems like you are trying to say physical therapists are medical doctors? DPT is doctorate of physical therapy not of medicine. I agree some doctors look down upon others, as do people in any area tbh. you are approaching this convo from what appears to be a level of disdain towards doctors which is ironically what you are preaching against. wishing you nothing but the best in your journey to becoming a physical therapist.

    • @tommywyattdpt
      @tommywyattdpt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AdamNessim PTs are definitely not medical doctors, and do not practice medicine!! I am approaching the convo from the point of PTs being doctors by our level of education and training to provide physical therapy. I am not trying to represent PTs as physicians. I got a vibe from your video that there was an idea that PTs were less than physicians. Maybe I was mistaken! Thanks for clearing that up. Good luck with your PMR journey as well!
