Premium priced but not the taste. You don’t know how long the coffee and tea have been sitting in the stores gathering moisture and deteriorating.

Try specialty coffee in a local hippy spot instead and support the real coffee economy. Rich people are easily influenced by marketing. How many actually like coffee.

He can become a billionaire because he sold something that cost not so much for much much more by just having better branding and perceived value that people are willing to buy. SGD1100 for 100g of coffee i rather go and eat some omakase in Japan 3 times. If something is so "high end" and not mass produced in very large quantities to be sold, how else can you make a billion if you don't have super high mark ups isn't it? lol Just like Haidilao... very good service, good presentation, but the quality of the meat served (in my opinion, i am not an expert) are just average quality but sold in premium price. How else did they become so rich?

Walked into one of those coffee shops earlier this year.
LMAO! This is just bougie “fake luxury”!
There is nothing honestly traditional, historical, or ‘specialty’ enough about the product (well, apart from the packaging and venue trappings ) to justify the prices. It is barely Starbucks-level roasts & teas.
Gotta hand it to him, though; he’s essentially put everyday handbag into an LV store and managed to charge LV price….to those wide-eyed social climbers willing to swallow it😅😂

Just take out the cream and sugar, what's left is the same coffee. Why pay premium 😂
