Got compressor to start again (not sure if it was due to diagnostics) . IMPORTANT question…how hot is the back of the fridge supposed to be?? Is that the fans cooling the compressors?
Your condenser coil and fan are in the back next to the condenser, depending on conditions it could get fairly warm to hot. That fan should be running any time the compressor is running. If the fan doesn’t run it will get very hot back there and could cause the compressor to shut off on overload.

Just bought a new Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator model FGHB2868TF, last week. Had to go out of town and was just notified by my power company that my power was out for a period of time. My question is "will my refrigerator go back to the previous settings automatically when the power is restored?"
@@danielsonpicker7279 I've discovered that the fridge needs to defrosted. What's the best way to do that. Also there's ice collecting in the bottom of the freezer.
The easiest way to defrost it would be to empty it and unplug it for 48 hours with the doors open. If that’s not an option you’ll have to take the freezer apart and get to the evaporator and manually thaw it out with a heat gun or hair dryer. BE CAREFUL not to focus the heat in one spot for too long, plastic and wires melt very easy if too much heat is applied. You will also need to diagnose and repair the issue that caused you to have to defrost it. My best guess would be the defrost thermostat or thermistor but there’s also a control and heater involved. Good luck!
BRAND NEW OUT OF THE BOX REFRIGERATOR!!! We went through all the tests and per the tests, the refrigerator is in working order. However, the refrigerator is still not cooling or freezing.... Been plugged in and set to the recommended temperature settings for 18 hours plus and no change. Very frustrating .
I have the same problem. Did you end up ever getting it resolved? I tried all the diagnostics and put an actual thermostat in the refrigerator side. The actual temp in the fridge is lower than what the display reads...our food keeps freezing and honestly not sure what to do at this point. Any info would be helpful please!
My frigidaire flapper that seals between the top doors has a 1/4 in gap at the bottom. No seal under the flaper. Not even one in the parts pics or diagram. I don't see we're anything goes under it to seal it when the doors are closed. I put foam under it to seal it. What is the deal on that?
It’s tough to say without seeing it. Something is broken. Depending on the model my guess is it’s probably the bracket that holds the door or could be the spring or mechanism that pulls the door closed. You would have to take it apart to get a look at what’s going on.
@danielsonpicker7279 It's the million I'm talking about. The bottom of it has a gap when closed. Nothing in parts list shows anything to seal the bottom when the door is closed .
My Frigidaire Gallery LGHD2369TF7 - Upper ice maker stopped making ice - Bottom freezer ice maker is making ice. Water dispenses out of front of refrigerator as normal and the ice auger in upper maker moves but since no ice nothing comes out - Also after I turned off refrigerator and left doors open over night I turned back on and the upper ice maker had a very small amount of water in ice cube tray it did freeze and dump the ice into the bucket BUT NO WATER FILLED THE TRAY AGAIN. Is this a clog? Even if I am able to get water from dispenser as well as ice making is happening in lower freezer compartment? Would like to get answer as I have a repairman scheduled and would like to have some idea before he arrives in a couple of days.
The water tube to the upper ice maker runs through the ceiling and have been known to freeze, Frigidaire has re-designed the water tube to prevent it from freezing. The fans for those ice makers have been known to ice up as well, if this is the case it would require an air tower kit. Hope this helps!
@@PickerJimS what is the part number for and "air tower kit" it does not come up when I search Frigidaire gallery parts. Is it an evaporator fan? Are there diagnostic numbers I can run to see if either of those are the problem? I have a tech coming and trying to figure it out first!
@@mamtschweitz they call it an air handler the part number is 5303918784. Of the fan is iced up you will need this kit. You can look at the fan it is behind the ice container, sometimes you can see ice by the fan blade but not always. If you run the diagnostic for the ice fan it should run, if it doesn’t it’s likely iced up, those little fan motors rarely fail.
I'm trying to repair one of these and replaced the main board but the compressor and condenser fan don't run. It has 122 volts going into the inverter board and a 5v signal voltage. 1 question. I just bought a new townhome in feb 2021 and it has the same exact fridge when we bought it with appliances. Last night the water dispenser it’s room temperature. How can I make it cold again. Everything else seems to run perfect? Please help.

I was able to fix this. Unplug it for a 1/2 hour. When you plug it back in, hold the down arrow under options & the + sign simultaneously. That’s what I did & it worked. Hope it works for you!
How do you adjust Ice size and frequency? I know there are some hidden settings for this as I used them once but lost the info. Same fridge as this video.
Is the lighting on Frigidaire Gallery models supposed to be “instant on”? Mine takes about two seconds to fully light up when I open the door. It starts very dim and then gets brighter. I hope this isn’t normal. Any idea if this is a setting somewhere?
I checked the diagnostics and even though I have the temp set on the control panel to 33 degrees Fahrenheit, the diagnostic says it's set at 17 degrees Celsius (which is 63 degrees Fahrenheit). When I get out of everything, the display says 33 degrees F for about 30 seconds, then it jumps up to 63 degrees F. Is it possible to correct the temperature shown in diagnostic mode? BTW - this was a VERY helpful video... even more than the manual. :)
My control panel lights cannot be read, appears that some lights are out or something else is wrong. I cannot see anything to set??? Please help. I cannot run diagnostic on anything cause lights are spotted and not readable.
I have pretty much the same fridge and control panel. I've had 3 power outages. After the first power outage the fridge reset itself automatically. The last two outages I had to reset it by unplugging it and plugging it back in. Is there a way to get it to automatically reset again? Thanks
I have thosrefrigerator but does not work properly. It freezes up, and the temperature drops and we end up having to defrost it. how can i do or what i can check have the refrigerator
Hello. Can this test be done while your frig is being used? My freezer is warm and compressor keeps clicking on and off...my refrigerator temp reads fine. I am afraid if I do this that my frig side will stop too? Also, is it possible to turn off freezer while waiting for it to be serviced?? It's the Frig Gallery side by side Frigidaire FGSS2335TF It also freezes food in the drawers. What tests do I run? Also, should I first unplug for 30 minutes then plug back in to see if it fixes itself before doing anything? (reset?)
Yes you can do the diagnostic while the frig is being used. That being said if your compressor is clicking on and off you have a bad relay or bad compressor. The frig may still be cold but most likely it’s only a matter of time before it warms up too. You cannot turn off just the freezer side. It might start working again if you unplug it for a little while but if it does I would keep a close eye on it for the immediate future. Good luck!
@@danielsonpicker7279 So do I just pull the plug right? Like resetting a router? Also, just pull it for a couple minutes? Or, how long? Lastly, can you show me the diagnostic testing to test the compressor and the relay? Thanks Danielson!
Also some of the lights on the control panel don't work so I can't always make out the entire number... can you just replace the lights or do you need a whole new panel?
Hi. Depends on the model but usually if you unplug the refrigerator for a few minutes when you plug it back in the three way valve will go to the open position within about 30 seconds
Thank you for going through this Daniel, but from watching this you don't seem to know what these tests actually do other than how to turn them on and off. Thank you for the attempt.

Hello sir, after I hook up the display interface, it doesnt power on or light up at all. Is there a way to trouble shoot this issue? The fridge is still running, but the lights in the fridge is also off.
Hi there thx for the vid! I have a Model FGSC2335TF5 and only the Water Dispenser Light is not working - everything else is. I'm assuming I need a entirely new user interface as well? If so, can you recommend where I can find the part # for that?
Did you ever figure out how to fix that light??? Mine quit working also!! Thanks
@@fredc8720 You have to buy a whole new interface! I haven't bought one yet - it runs about $100+. Sucks that you just can't replace the bulb!
@@michellep5387 thank you. I was afraid of that !!!
How do I get this particular fridge out of “Demo” mode. We bought it as a floor model & it’s been in Demo mode ever since. Thanks!
US TOO! we got ours today and the lights won’t turn on and it says both temps are 56. we bought a floor model as well. if u find anything out, please let me know!
I was able to fix this. Unplug it for a 1/2 hour. When you plug it back in, hold the down arrow under options & the + sign simultaneously. That’s what I did & it worked. Hope it works for you!
HI, any idea why I my freezer is not freezing after I lost power for over 12 hours?
My best guess would be that the main control board went bad when the power went out or came back on
How do you adjust Ice size and frequency? I know there are some hidden settings for this as I used them once but lost the info. Same fridge as this video.
Press the water and crush ice buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds. 1 bar equals less ice 3 bars the most mice.
Is the lighting on Frigidaire Gallery models supposed to be “instant on”? Mine takes about two seconds to fully light up when I open the door. It starts very dim and then gets brighter. I hope this isn’t normal. Any idea if this is a setting somewhere?
super ! Thanks!
The diagnostic mode isn’t turning on. Options aren’t responding. Only right side is working and no water is coming out
Great information but to much background noise.
If some of the LEDs are out on the control panel it will need to be replaced.
My humidity sensor is high, what could I do? Can you please help?
I have pretty much the same fridge and control panel. I've had 3 power outages. After the first power outage the fridge reset itself automatically. The last two outages I had to reset it by unplugging it and plugging it back in. Is there a way to get it to automatically reset again? Thanks
The electronic controls on these are very sensitive. You are lucky to be able to reset it. I would recommend putting it on a surge protector.
I have thosrefrigerator but does not work properly. It freezes up, and the temperature drops and we end up having to defrost it. how can i do or what i can check have the refrigerator
Sounds like you might have a bad thermostat
How do you get it out of the "control locked" state.
Same
I'm still trying to figure this out. The customer service # was absolutely NO help...
Hold the "set" key for 5 sec
@@danielsonpicker7279 as of right now...it's not being serviced until the 31st. I'm hoping it won't burn up by then... or cause other problems.
Thanks!!
Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
Defrost heater keeps on tripping my breaker , please help
I have a model made in 2021. It doesn't have arrows.
Also some of the lights on the control panel don't work so I can't always make out the entire number... can you just replace the lights or do you need a whole new panel?
Unfortunately you have to replace the whole panel
My auger cam drive will not turn.
When I hold it the screen turn off
Hello there, do you know which one sets the compressor valve to open on dual evap models?
Hi. Depends on the model but usually if you unplug the refrigerator for a few minutes when you plug it back in the three way valve will go to the open position within about 30 seconds
My test 30 for freezer has op what does that mean
If it says op or cl it probable is open or closed.... but I’m no technician, it’s just a guess
Thank you!
Thank you for going through this Daniel, but from watching this you don't seem to know what these tests actually do other than how to turn them on and off.
Thank you for the attempt.
Yeah you’re right, more than 28 years experience with residential HVAC and refrigeration repairs and all I know is how to run through the diagnostics! 😂😂😂
Thank you for the attempt.@@danielsonpicker7279
@@BRANDONHARWELL-m9q This video was very clear cut and highly useful for the average owner of the fridge. If it was not clear just rewatch it until it's clear.
You should of written list of tests.
No ice maker harvest test. How slick. Test all the crap but not the important stuff
Where is the model number
Mine is on inner wall of upper rt shelf.
What is test 26?
Defrost limit switch
Hi. Your vídeo is great! But I think you should do another one without people around you because has to much noise!
you helped me a lot! Just the noise and give more details one each step.
Thank you! 🌸
Thanks for watching and leaving the comment. I’m glad it helped! I was in a warehouse so unfortunately I can’t do anything about the background noise.
Now my screen is off!
45 is is maker temperature
Speak up son
Very terrible explanation you don't even mention were you get the Test for the corresponding number
