I recently bought Dr Martens' Emmelines for autumn :p and I used the tip to put wet (hot) dish towels in them for one night. Especially where it is the most tight. If one night isn 't enough you can do it for two nights. And to walk them in easier, riding a bike is a real good tip because you're still moving in them, but it won't hurt as much as walking! hope this helpes somehow, hehe

Also wearing multiple socks helps. I was able to work a two week festival while breaking in my Doc's. Wonder balm does help but rubbing Vaseline into the leather will also help soften stiff leather. My new 1461's aren't giving me as much trouble as my 60's. Hope this helps 😊 also check out Dr martens official website for sales I got both my Doc's on sale and there will be a huge sale for black Friday

Every time I watch a docs video everyone says that you might bleed and get blisters I’ve broken in 4 pears and no bleeding or blisters and I had no problem with the sizing I’m a size 11 normally and I’m an 11 in docs
I just got the cherry jadons and breaking them in has been so much better than when I had to break in my 1460’s last year. Wearing 2 pairs of socks and having bandaids with you is a life saver!
I had 2 pairs of Made in Vietnam 1460’s which each took about 6 weeks of everyday wear to break in. Last winter I bought my first pair of Made in England 1460’s which only took about 2 weeks. My 1461’s took about 4 weeks. The key for me was just to wear thick socks and to grit my teeth, my feet felt like they were gonna blister but never did. Every pair was well worth the pain and discomfort though.
I have just ordered a pair of 1461 rainbow patent quad docs. I can't wait for them to arrive! I love your Dr Marten videos, I'm obsessed with the shoes.
Jesus Sanchez the made in England ones are still quality and worth the price point. They were originally a military boot so pretty sure that means something great!
how to stretch/ break them in: fill up a ziplock bag half way roll it up and put it and the shoes ( try and push them in as far as possible) and then freeze them (double bag them so they don’t leak but if they leak it’s fine)
Mine are basically new since I got them and had them in the closet for a while and today I managed to wear them for nearly twelve hours, in and out of the house. It's my first pair and absolute favourite shoe at the moment and I'm hoping to buy another here soon.
@@inthewanderyears I'm not sure. There are so many great options. I was thinking about either black 1461s, red 1460s, or white 1460s. Probably a boot even though I have one already since I've been into boots slightly above the ankle since sixth grade.
the inner sole for bigger shoes is actually so smart how did i not think of thins omggg i haven’t been able to wear my 1461s because they felt wobbly(like clown shoes lol) and i’ve had them for almost 3 years!! they still look super new:/ thanks for the tip!
Yeah they can feel super wobbly! Hopefully now you can wear them, they may hurt a little at first because your feet will be sitting in a different spot so it will break in new spots 🤙 Thanks Felicia!
I finally found my dream pair on Ebay, the 1460 Pascal floral embossed, and I am sooo in love with them. I wanted a black pair to go with everything but everyone in my city seems to have a pair of the black 1460's so the floral embossing pattern makes them unique in a really classy and subtle way. I honestly think they should go back into production because they were incredibly rare and hard to find but they are so so beautiful. If you have the leather ones oil them up a lot with the Doc Martens wonder balsam it makes the leather stretchier and more pliable I even put some on the inside of the boots. The more moisture you add to the leather the less pain you will have to go through and it will be better protected from water and salt etc.
It’s been more than 20 years since the last time I wore Doc Martens. I recently bought myself a pair of 1460s cherry reds I want to wear to an upcoming Tool concert in less than a month. Thank you for your breaking in tips. Your tips are going to be a big help.
I bought a pair of 1460 Pascal docs like three days ago, and I already started wearing them out to go to the university. Honestly, so comfortable, they're not even that painful as I thought. I just love them ♥️
Cool tips! For cuff marks on the toe box, where the paint has scratched off, I recommend using Saphir polish. Make sure to get the polish that has the matching dye - the dye is key component that adds the color back. Don’t get the kiwi brand or anything else in the supermarket. I’ve tried. The only way DMs will not last a lifetime is when I’ve realized... 1. The soles are worn out. 2. The footbed structure under the insole is poorly constructed. 3. They are too narrow and breaking in doesn’t work. The best tip in the video is wearing out a couple of hours at a time and building up. Also wearing thick winter/industrial socks. Wool socks will make your feet sweat profusely. I still have a couple of pairs (1460 DM Lites and 1461s) but I’ve parted ways with an assorted 3 pairs.
I've had two pairs of docs in the past and I love them because I usually get crazy blisters from any shoe but for docs they very rarely do at all. So you can imagine my surprise when all of a sudden I keep seeing things that talk about how it's basically a common known fact that they kill your feet before you break them in 😂😂😂
Nice! I used to get blisters a lot from other shoes and I think slowly my feet have built up strength so now dr martens don't tend to hurt too much! Soo glad you love your docs!
@@JMV1616 she's giving extra tips so people don't destroy their feet? my docs only took a couple days of casual wearing to break in and i had no problems but my friend suffered from blisters in hers; different things work for different people. besides, she didn't only talk about wearing them in - she talked about buying them as well. if you don't like it, don't watch it.
Imma cry! The removable insole advice was SO HELPFUL! Recently bought a pair of Natural colored 1461s and for some reason the shoes were so narrow and thus have been contemplating to selling on depop. But then you said some shoes will have removable insoles and my shoes do!!!! THANK YOU!
Bought mine like 3 days ago haha, i've just been wearing them around the house and like as of oday they feel perfectly fine, size is perfect match and ion got no bleeding or blisters :0 I think a lot of it has to do with the shape of your feet as well :) but like frfr docs actually fit me so well, right after nike af2s :3
I got Lazy Oaf x Docs 2019 Collab boots and they're lovely but got my feet absolutely destroyed lol I haven't worn them that much since then, will try everything to break in, I read some people haven't had any damage from wearing them, guys you have really strong skin, be thankful lol
Oh no! Yeah it depends person to person. Honestly I think I have no trouble breaking in docs now because my feet/skin is way stronger from breaking in a few docs. I really hope they get better for you!
finally someone who owns shoes as well! i bought my first ever docs today and i went for the holly platforms, i don't see anyone talking about the shoes, only about the boots. i was really scared i was the only one who thought the back hurts a lot, everything is fine but my right heel hurts a lot. i hope i break them in quickly, i bought the wonder balsam and i'll just try to wear them atleast once a day :')
Had Mary Janes back in the early 90's. Just bought a new pair of white boots after wanting them for years. Got a great price with a buy one get one 1/2 price sale at a shoe store. Only paid $45.00. I love them and wear them often. I just need to be sure I wear socks that come over the top ridge of the shoe. Trying to find more maxi dresses and other things to wear with them for a good look!
Nice video. Do you wear any English made DM's? I have been wearing DM's for the past 30 years, mostly the 1461s although I do have a pair of 1460s. I have wore both the English made and the China made shoes over the years and by far the English made are built like a tank and twice as hard to break in, which are the only ones I wear now. Pro Tip: Look for a pair of vintage shoe stretchers, they can really help the break in period by half the time. You can find them almost anywhere from online stores to vintage clothes shops at a fairly inexpensive price. Just some food for thought.
Thankyou so much for the valuable info! Just received some lush Smooth Chelsea Bex 1276s . Unboxing, i cant fit my foot in! Size looks perfect,i love the edgy look. Stuffing paper in foot entry. Probably buy some dubbing. These are direct from doc martens. As a brit, im proud of my heritage lol. My FIRST pair since school ( many moons for me ugh) i had some black 1460s 🙏🏻💯💕💙
I'm getting one like urs red martens today.. Second hand. I wish in the future u get the higher version but for now one pair is enough u got big collection of, shoes but they are amazing and pretty
With new boots, no matter what brand, I often stick some duct-tape (broader than regular sticky tape) to the bottom of socks from the toe area to the calve area elastic, and some tape to top part up to the elastic as well. I have found that it helps with the friction, and also getting into your boots, especially with Chelsea boots. Also, if you can find a half insole or customise gel soles, that might help too, as the foot will stay in place much better with excess space in the boot being used.
Also, if you want to break em in then get them really warm with a hair dryer and rub mink oil liquid all over them. Mink oil is super good for leather. Make sure to use enough to saturate the outside. You can do that to the inside as well but be warned because the oil can stain your socks, so plan on wearing black socks. After a few hours the difference is night and day. Do this in a plastic tub cause it gets messy. No reason to bleed.
I'm watching this Video again because as a gift to myself I'm going to buy several pairs from Zappos 2 Jadon platform & 2 1460 8 hole boots! And I'll need to break in the Jadons for sure. 😎❤👍🇬🇧
I just got a pair (1460 skull) for Christmas, I was so excited until I realized I had to break them in but a thing that really helped me is putting some Blister bandaid on even if you don't have any, they used to hurt after 10 minutes but today I was able to wear them for 2 hours without feeling any pain, so definitely try that if you're planning on getting a pair or already have one
I have literally never gotten blisters . I rub wonder balm on them sit overnight stuffed with newspaper . Cover with towel bang with rubber mallet soften leather. Double sock them for 2 hours walking around . Next wear them here and there not for a full day until perfect
When I got my docs I was able to wear them for like 3 hours straight. The toe and the back of the boot was really stiff so for the first couple of days I just wore thick socks, there was no pain and no uncomfortableness, no blisters, no nothing.
I ordered my 1st pair of Doc Martens off the Doc Marten website; the rainbow sequin/multi color. And they got here 3 days ago and it feels tight on the top of my foot! Help! 😅
Mine are black sequins. Brand new got a 6 cause I have some 7s too roomy. Really thought they would be fine. They are about 1/4 size too small. Going to. A cobbler to stretch them. But hope he knows what to do with that top part. Can’t do it right away. And I need to wear them in 4 weeks for an event.
I have slept in brand new Doc's for a week or two and did it work. Mind you I have been wearing Doc's since the 1990s, I definitely prefer the made in England ones over those made in China. Good video.
I got the white jadons for a music festival. I thought I had broken them in and wore them the first day. Flash forward to getting home and my feet are bleeding and covered in horrendous blisters. It’s about two months later and there are still scars on my feet lmao. They scare me now
Oh no!!!! That is the worst! Music festivals can be killer with new docs but it's hard to not wear them because they look so cool! Just make sure to look after your feet, moisturise them and get them better so you can look rad in jadons again!
I’m back again haha! I did end up buying the 1461’s for my bday but they were wayyy too big 😂 my mum says that she likes the 1460’s more but idk what to style them with like sweaters or straight wide jeans, I have no clue and with the 1461’s they match with a lot of things, but when I tried them at the shop they hurt my feet so bad and the girl said that the boots are easier to break in cause the material is a bit softer than the 1461’s! I have no clue what to get now 😂 what do u recommend I usually wear bigger jeans and sweaters - Isabella
That’s so awesome but then so sad! Too big to just add an inner sole? Are they the women’s style, because I found them a lot tighter then the unisex which I had but ended up selling because they were super floppy on my feet. It seems like you like the 1461’s and they would look rad with your jeans. They are harder to break in because of the back being really stiff but if you’re going to wear them a lot for years and years to come it will be worth it. So I would say go for 1461. But if you did want to do 1460’s they are slightly easier to break in (depending on the type of material) but you may still get a lot of blisters. If you got those they would look rad if you rolled up your jeans a little to see the boots. Basically it all depends what you will wear more now and eventually one day you could get the other style 👍 thanks for asking for my advice, I love helping you!! (Hopefully this did help)
I've had my 1461s for almost two years now and I've just bought a pair of 1460s recently and let me tell you... it was a hard time breaking them in. My tip is to try to tape the inside of the shoe, so that the edges won't be that rough. It helped me immediately.
I have seen so many people talking about how hard it is to break in docs, but I just didn’t need to? I tried them on for like 5 min and bended my feet and then proceeded to use them for a whole day right in the first time (I took an extra shoe just in case, but I didn’t need to) the upper part was a bit uncomfortable in my leg, but it wasn’t a problem at all Tbh, the converse all star have hurt my feet a lot more
when i got my first pair of docs i wore them to school immediately. My feet hurt but it wasn’t anything i couldn’t manage, in 2 weeks they were broken in!! they were the jadon docs
I've been wearing mine for 4 months now and they still destroy my feet but that usually happens with every shoe I wear so I'm kind of used to it. I wear bandages under my socks but the type you wrap around wounds and those help a lot.
i got the 1460 W docs about 2 months ago and ive broken them in but the only issue i have is that when i walk the boots make a weird squeaky sound and they make me sound like a duck when i walk😳 it seems to be coming from the front of the shoe where the shoelaces are but i try adjusting it and they still make the sound! (also my docs are the glossy black ones if that has anything to do with it lol)
Hmm I have experienced squeaking but it usually goes away eventually. It could be where the shoe bends on the top of your foot, the more you wear them it should stop but if you have heaps of room above your foot try maybe putting some foam or something in that space and see if it still squeaks if it's filled up 🤷♀️
I got new docs about two months ago and I got a huuuge blister on my foot &it got really thick bc it was filled with fluid, then it popped 😩 & my foot hurt so bad. Now I always wear them with mountain socks (the really thick ones for walking) and I don't get blisters but it's kind of uncomfortable to go up or down the stairs
Am I the only one who never really had to break into a pair of doc martens? I have at least 6 pairs, and they all fit me just fine from the moment I’ve got them (including the jadons? Even tho they get so much shit) They at most chaffed my ankle a bit but nothing a higher pair of socks can’t fix. Hope everyone’s having good luck breaking them in :(
Just got the leather Jadon Max docs and they're the most PAINFUL shoes I've ever worn. When I wore them at the store, they weren't uncomfortable at all. But when I wore them for a more extended period of time (like less than 1 hour maybe), I thought my heels were going to bleed, and I was wearing thick woolen socks on top of tights. God, these shoes are beauts, but I dunno how I'll handle the breaking-in process. People who wear docs are heroes man :')
Ive never had that much of a problem with my Docs boots. Today I got the 1461s and oh boy. These will be tough, Hurt my black of the heel so muchhhhhhhhhh
I have bought a pair of 1461 for school. My other ones split on the sole after 18 months . I did wear them almost everyday for almost 8 hours so i definitely got my moneys worth
With covid restrictions i couldn't try on. With shops shut. The returns QR Code is ok...if u havw a working printer, i havnt. Hey ho! Keep up the gd work. Much love xx
I bought a pair of 1460 Pascal I've got some tips for ya : I'm just putting my shoes on with 3-4 pair of socks, then I take my blow-dryer and warm up the shoes while it's on my feet. Then I apply coconut oil on the shoes. I remove them, warm the inside of the shoes, apply coconut oil do this everyday for 2 weeks + walking in your house with the boots and tadaa~ This technique will help to make the leather loose and soft It really worked for me~
I ordered a black pair of vintage 1460's a couple of days ago off the doc martens website, can't wait for them to come. I am a bit worried about sizing after watching this video though, I'm an EU 42-44 and I ordered a size 43, hope they won't be too bulky or loose😳
so i got docs this christmas, and so far they feel perfectly fine. i’ve been reading up on them and everybody is talking about how they hurt so much and how they make you bleed. i’m now genuinely scared because i haven’t felt anything wrong with them but now i’m scared it’ll just happen one day!
Wow what an epic xmas present! Honestly they don't hurt that much. I don't even get blisters from them anymore when I get new ones, I'm just preparing you for worst case scenario. Just wear them around the house a little and work out if there is any rubbing, then if there is put a bandaid on the area before it happens! Which ones did you get?
I own 2 pairs of army boots one is simular to the docs but they are higher thats not the point. The first pair i weared them in to the forest and only for heavy jobs and they have a thick leather 2,5mm and the brak in period was like 3 months but i waxxed them after every "walk" and the second pair was simular to the doc martens but the same leather as the fist ones and same procedure an the break in period was 1 month and i weared them like 3 times weak so my advice is to condicione the leather and wear them a lot and i didnt have any blisters maybe its my feet or idk
The Leona's literally did not need breaking in for me... I've been wearing them for about 4 weeks straight now and no blisters whatsoever.. plus they are super comfy
The lesson that i learnd is that docks are kinda same as birkenstocks you nead to find your size not were them to much at the start and will last you for soo long
Do you have any tips for breaking in docs?

Wear them for 2 to 3 hours at a time until they are broken in and when they are brand new dont wear them for a long period of time
The medical tape you used is good, I use athletic tape to cover bandaids in boots bc I find it cheap and comfy bc it's a bit more fabric-y/padded

Oh I feel for you! That is not fun at all! Hope you've recovered!
Interesting! Nice collection you have there!
I have just ordered a pair of 1461 rainbow patent quad docs. I can't wait for them to arrive! I love your Dr Marten videos, I'm obsessed with the shoes.
Omg they will be stunning! So excited for you!! Thanks so much 👍
Oof, ive got them
Tanisha T how are they??
@@sunsets1013 They are so good, i really enjoy them
Tanisha T that’s good to hear! i’m on the fence between getting the rainbow patent or the regular black patent 1460s docs >
I can’t be the only one shocked by the lack of subscribers?? No offense but like this is a channel that I would expect to have like 500k lmao
Aww this means a lot! Thanks Alyssa!
Docs will outlive you! The best investment. Just treat them well, then get the soles redone when you need
They are so great!!
They are crap now so are Gripfast. They never where a quality boot.
Jesus Sanchez the made in England ones are still quality and worth the price point. They were originally a military boot so pretty sure that means something great!
Wait ...foreal? You can get the soles redone?
how to stretch/ break them in: fill up a ziplock bag half way roll it up and put it and the shoes ( try and push them in as far as possible) and then freeze them (double bag them so they don’t leak but if they leak it’s fine)
i also like/ am used to stiff shoes because i’ve wore braces a lot so it supports my ankles but i’ve never had to wear bandaids or anything
Honestly, I bought a pair and they are very glossy and quite frankly when I wear them I don't feel pain at all...
You are one of the lucky ones! Bet they look rad!
Mine are basically new since I got them and had them in the closet for a while and today I managed to wear them for nearly twelve hours, in and out of the house. It's my first pair and absolute favourite shoe at the moment and I'm hoping to buy another here soon.
Good effort! They are the best! What would you get next?
@@inthewanderyears I'm not sure. There are so many great options. I was thinking about either black 1461s, red 1460s, or white 1460s. Probably a boot even though I have one already since I've been into boots slightly above the ankle since sixth grade.
Red or white could be really cool but all great option!!
i got a pair of white 1460s on my trip to france and wore them for 3 days straight 12h at a time and that worked pretty well (-:
That is the way to do it! Just tough it out and look rad in the process!
the inner sole for bigger shoes is actually so smart how did i not think of thins omggg i haven’t been able to wear my 1461s because they felt wobbly(like clown shoes lol) and i’ve had them for almost 3 years!! they still look super new:/ thanks for the tip!
So cute! And nice tip!
It’s been more than 20 years since the last time I wore Doc Martens. I recently bought myself a pair of 1460s cherry reds I want to wear to an upcoming Tool concert in less than a month. Thank you for your breaking in tips. Your tips are going to be a big help.
Wow the cherrys are so cool! Have fun at the concert! ...and no problem!
I got made in England black 1460 boots for $25 at Ross
That's amazing! Proud of your find!
You big flexxer
@@jonahmurray101 😂😂
i got barely used 1461s at goodwill for only four dollars. the doc marten gods really blessed me that day.
it really do be like that sometimes bruh I want a pair ngl
When my 3 year old docs got too small and the heels was basically shredded into a slope I cried having to replace them
😥I'm crying just now thinking about that! Hope the replacements are going good!
I’m getting 1461s as my first pair and I’ve been wanting them for years now and now that I’ve tried them on as soon as I get paid im getting them!
I just got the 1460 vondas with the rose embroidery for Christmas and I love them
Omg that is amazing! I bet they look so rad on!
@@inthewanderyears they do
I bought a pair of 1460 Pascal docs like three days ago, and I already started wearing them out to go to the university. Honestly, so comfortable, they're not even that painful as I thought. I just love them ♥️
Pascals are great! Super easy to break in. I bet they look so rad!
Ooo nice tip! Thanks!
I’m getting the vegan 1460s and I’ll just wear them to school everyday lol wish me luck!!!
That's so awesome!
EUh... I think you just have to wear them?
Basically!
In the Wander Years then why did it take you sooooo fucking long to say that
@@JMV1616 she's giving extra tips so people don't destroy their feet? my docs only took a couple days of casual wearing to break in and i had no problems but my friend suffered from blisters in hers; different things work for different people. besides, she didn't only talk about wearing them in - she talked about buying them as well. if you don't like it, don't watch it.
Rude. The video helped me out!
Well, just saved you 19 wasted minutes of your life
I like the 1460 8 eye gaucho crazy horse one and jadon II
I like them too 😍
Imma cry! The removable insole advice was SO HELPFUL! Recently bought a pair of Natural colored 1461s and for some reason the shoes were so narrow and thus have been contemplating to selling on depop. But then you said some shoes will have removable insoles and my shoes do!!!! THANK YOU!
Yay!! So glad that was helpful!!
@@inthewanderyears It really was!! :D
I think she kinda looks like Saoirse Ronan...
Best compliment ever! She is legit my favourite actress!
Bought the 1460 Pascal Virginia 8 holes in soft skin. It's my first pair and I really hope I get some wear out of them. Thanks for this vid!
That’s awesome! You should get lots of wear! No problem Victoria, glad you liked it
Bought mine like 3 days ago haha, i've just been wearing them around the house and like as of oday they feel perfectly fine, size is perfect match and ion got no bleeding or blisters :0 I think a lot of it has to do with the shape of your feet as well :) but like frfr docs actually fit me so well, right after nike af2s :3
If the normal 1460 docs hurts your feet, try the 1460 Pascal Virginia, they are made with softer leather. Since I bought them I wear almost everyday!
I´ve just recently got my first pair of Docs. The same red ones as you´ve got. And I love them!
finally someone who owns shoes as well! i bought my first ever docs today and i went for the holly platforms, i don't see anyone talking about the shoes, only about the boots. i was really scared i was the only one who thought the back hurts a lot, everything is fine but my right heel hurts a lot. i hope i break them in quickly, i bought the wonder balsam and i'll just try to wear them atleast once a day :')
🙌 those are really cool shoes!! Hope they break in quick!!
My friend j bent and squeezed the leather a LOT to the point it got more mold able
Cute! That is such a deal! Hope you find some cool outfits!!! 👍
I wish I could, heard the quality is epic! That's so awesome! Thanks Marc!
Removing the inner sole, game changer! Thanks!
Glad I could help!
if you have craft foam you can put a piece on the hard heel part of your boots so they won’t give you blisters while breaking them in
Great idea!
I broke mine in at Disneyland. No complaints, I love them!
That's so cool! Which ones do you have?
i have the pascals, they are a softer leather so they only rubbed on the heel a little but they got comfortable very soon
I didn't like the the shine of the pascals
With new boots, no matter what brand, I often stick some duct-tape (broader than regular sticky tape) to the bottom of socks from the toe area to the calve area elastic, and some tape to top part up to the elastic as well. I have found that it helps with the friction, and also getting into your boots, especially with Chelsea boots. Also, if you can find a half insole or customise gel soles, that might help too, as the foot will stay in place much better with excess space in the boot being used.
Nice tip Pierre!
best thing I did breaking mine in: duct. tape. patch up the back of your ankles and heel - boom. helps the break-in process!
That’s an awesome technique!
My first pair wear the red 1460s
Stunning!
Great tip!!
I'm watching this Video again because as a gift to myself I'm going to buy several pairs from Zappos
2 Jadon platform & 2 1460 8 hole boots! And I'll need to break in the Jadons for sure. 😎❤👍🇬🇧
Wow that is amazing!! I bet they will look soooo awesome!!
Wish I could buy a pair of docs, they're really expensive so I always go with national made boots
I try to get mine all second hand or on sale, maybe you’ll find a good deal eventually!
Perfect! It must mean you got exactly the right size! Nice!
I ordered my 1st pair of Doc Martens off the Doc Marten website; the rainbow sequin/multi color. And they got here 3 days ago and it feels tight on the top of my foot! Help! 😅
QUEEN_BRE i think maybe you should take them back and get a bigger size ? if not some docs you can take out the sole
Exactly... if you can take out the inner sole then they will probably fit perfectly but I'm not sure if you can in those!
QUEEN_BRE me toooooo. At the bottom of the tounge there’s an edge thier that digs into me. HELPPP. any ????
I have no clue what to get now 😂 what do u recommend I usually wear bigger jeans and sweaters
- Isabella
Any tips for amilitas?
Love your hair colour here!
Thank you!!
I've had my 1461s for almost two years now and I've just bought a pair of 1460s recently and let me tell you... it was a hard time breaking them in. My tip is to try to tape the inside of the shoe, so that the edges won't be that rough. It helped me immediately.
That's a great tip!!! Hope they are feeling better now!
oh and i also wore two pairs of socks the first week and after that i’ve had no problems!
I have seen so many people talking about how hard it is to break in docs, but I just didn’t need to? I tried them on for like 5 min and bended my feet and then proceeded to use them for a whole day right in the first time (I took an extra shoe just in case, but I didn’t need to) the upper part was a bit uncomfortable in my leg, but it wasn’t a problem at all
Tbh, the converse all star have hurt my feet a lot more
Yeah some of mine didn’t hurt at all. Depends on the shoes, the footshape etc!
when i got my first pair of docs i wore them to school immediately. My feet hurt but it wasn’t anything i couldn’t manage, in 2 weeks they were broken in!! they were the jadon docs
They would be the coolest shoes at school! Dang you have so much style!! Thanks for watching!
I've been wearing mine for 4 months now and they still destroy my feet but that usually happens with every shoe I wear so I'm kind of used to it. I wear bandages under my socks but the type you wrap around wounds and those help a lot.
Hope they get more comfy for you!
if u live in the UK i recommend trying to find a dr marten factory near u. i got a pair of £169 jadons for £50
Good tip!
Hey, you said a have a long narrow foot - did you try the 1460 pascal ones? because they are a lot narrower!
Yeah, good point! I have one pair that I got recently and they are a lot tighter. They remind me of the fit of the jadons! Thanks!
You can get them resoled and restored at any shoe repair shop or boot shop. Especially the real leather ones.
Great tip!
i got the 1460 W docs about 2 months ago and ive broken them in but the only issue i have is that when i walk the boots make a weird squeaky sound and they make me sound like a duck when i walk😳 it seems to be coming from the front of the shoe where the shoelaces are but i try adjusting it and they still make the sound!
Oh no! That is the worst! Hope it gets better for you!
Hope everyone’s having good luck breaking them in :(
Lucky! Yeah I feel like I don't have too many problems anymore, I guess my feet have toughened up. But that is so cool, what do you have?
The 1461s fit me like a glove. No problems at all. I have been wearing docs for 21 years. This is my third pair.
Oh man they are soo cool though! Hope they get better!
@@inthewanderyears Thank you! I ended up going to the cobbler's to get my docs stretched, and I'm getting them back in two days. Hope that'll work ^^

I have bought a pair of 1461 for school. My other ones split on the sole after 18 months . I did wear them almost everyday for almost 8 hours so i definitely got my moneys worth
You must look so cool at school!
Thanks for the tips! I love your rose gold hair too
No problem! Aww thanks!

I bought a pair of 1460 Pascal
I've got some tips for ya :
I'm just putting my shoes on with 3-4 pair of socks, then I take my blow-dryer and warm up the shoes while it's on my feet. Then I apply coconut oil on the shoes. I remove them, warm the inside of the shoes, apply coconut oil do this everyday for 2 weeks + walking in your house with the boots and tadaa~
This technique will help to make the leather loose and soft
It really worked for me~
I have one pair I got for my 17th birthday. It’s been 5 years, and I still haven’t totally broken them in.
Oh no! That sucks!
what an underrated channel...
Awww thanks Alia!
I ordered a black pair of vintage 1460's a couple of days ago off the doc martens website, can't wait for them to come.
I am a bit worried about sizing after watching this video though, I'm an EU 42-44 and I ordered a size 43, hope they won't be too bulky or loose😳
Those are so nice! Hope they fit right, it’s always best to try some on but it sounds like you should have the right size!
so i got docs this christmas, and so far they feel perfectly fine. i’ve been reading up on them and everybody is talking about how they hurt so much and how they make you bleed. i’m now genuinely scared because i haven’t felt anything wrong with them but now i’m scared it’ll just happen one day!
I got mine for $100 from amazon but I have prime and they were on sale. They're 1460W I'm vv excited
So exciting!!
The Leona's literally did not need breaking in for me... I've been wearing them for about 4 weeks straight now and no blisters whatsoever.. plus they are super comfy
Amazing! Yeah sometime they are totally fine!! I bet they look awesome!
How about Molly buttero ones? Are they hard to break in?
Hey Joanne, not too sure on those ones! Hopefully not too hard!
The lesson that i learnd is that docks are kinda same as birkenstocks you nead to find your size not were them to much at the start and will last you for soo long
Good tips!
