    thank you for this video. The original question was by and large exactly my reservations and ultimately I arrived at my decision to continue with my SLS exercises. I never considered SLS as a complete technique, but rather as one approach among many others. I decided after quite some research and trial that it would suit me best at my current stage (beginner's stage after many years of pulling and staying in my chest voice much like your story) and will use it to eliminate breaks and "discover" and build up my "mix"/"head" and I'll see where it takes me from there. I did some SLS exercises many years ago before I took a break from singing and looking back I have to admit that I still benefit from it today, as I have begun singing again after a 5 years break

    Hello Chuck, I'm just loving your videos. Your such a humble gentle man, and your whole persona resonates warmth and kindnesses. I sing alot myself using speech level singing which allowed me to sing for 4 hours straight without even getting hoarse. Some gigs i did were long ones though. Keep up the great work. Love and light. Paul. ❤😇

      Thanks Paul. I didn't find this until I was 43 years old. Singing and life changed for me from that time forward. I'm hoping to spread the good news of speech level singing and all the work Seth Riggs has done for us. Thank you for sharing your experience!

    Chuck thank you so much for all these effort on sharing SLS. I literally can't appreciate more. I found your content recently, but I've already been convinced that this is what I need. I always believe in the possibility in my voice, but most of tutorial don't seem to be constructive and practical enough for that to happen. I might start my journey soon. Hope me the best!!
    I really think workout for exercise is the thing I've been looking for for singing. We all do exercise, whether it's jogging, basketball, yoga, tennis or whatever else. And we believe that through workout we can improve our experience in exercising and also prevents injury well. Now with SLS, I think it's the same in singing! For the concept to change, world needs time.

    At this point in the journey, I would say that a seamless voice is more important than volume dynamics. Your exercises truly make this happen. Thank you for your unselfish contribution to the singers who are curious about why they can't sing high notes. You are awesome!

    Joan Sutherland did indeed give Pavarotti many pointers on breath support when he toured Australia in the Sutherland Opera Company. He did say himself that it took a decade to develop his technique!

    Chunk I really appreciate your efforts and your pure soul for helping us , I have been reading singing for the stars by Seth , which you mentioned in some of your videos and i was applying the exercises over the days and then i reach into a point where most of my normal singing problems faded away and i was able to sing from my chest voice into my head voice without any problem which surprised me , Now i am wondering what should i do to mantain my vocal balance and my speech level product and to save it from bad habits and making my voice more stronger and more healthier throughout my range now I think I am either an Alto or a mezo soprano male so what exercises should i do daily and what things should i apply to songs that keeps my technique healthy

      I would definitely keep doing the exercises in Singing For the Stars or in PowerToSing.com. You would want to do the exercises for women/children ranges as well as the men's. Your voice may still be changing somewhat. You will get to the point where you will want to take lessons with someone. Especially as you apply your technique to songs. When I was without a teacher, I did the exercises I mentioned above.

    What I don't understand is that how your university didn't know about bridging? I mean every baritone is capable of singing above E4, G4 or some of them A4 (with classical technique). How do they teach singers who want to become opera singers? Or what happened was with you that they gave up on you and said you couldn't do it?

    After saw the way sohyang singing, i believe SLS are outstanding. She is korean gospel singer with amazing vocal technique and wide range on high notes, she is mention that seth riggs are her vocal teacher. But did SLS allow someone to use nasality? Because sometimes she sound nasal to me.

      @PowerToSing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One of the challenges of being a teacher is helping students drop bad habits while learning new and better singing techniques. And in the challenging world of vocal performance, it's not easy to be 100% technically perfect. Also, what is nasally to one listener is not to another listener. Often the teacher's job is to help the singer be technically secure in the lesson. What is done away from the studio, even Seth Riggs can not control. :)

      blackwitness aaa she's not nasal but she uses a balanced mix into a very high note such as G#5 and some say she uses it till C#6 which makes it harder to really use half percentage of your chest and your head , so when she began to use a more heady mix in this areas she began to sound more refined but she is never nasal the problem that she needs more time to really refine them instead of going range over quality but she's the best in terms of singing so cheer
