Inca legends tell about The Lady of the Moon - a royal maiden sent into the Heavens with a bottle of water to pour upon the earth, whenever it was needed. She caused the gentle rains, the snow and the hail. She had a brother who, when provoked, expressed his anger using thunder and lightening. As a result of one outburst, he broke her bottle of water, causing a great flood.
