My acrylic paint is not transferring from my block to my fabric. I'm having to put so much for even a little impression. I'm not sure what Im doing wrong.

What kind of fabric is it? And if it's a natural fiber, has the fabric been prewashed?
Synthetic fibers and the sizing on brand new fabrics will keep the paint from adhering.
