They set fire to a mall front in the Watts area. Much of the radio chatter, distant gun shots, and far off sirens were sampled from that too.

I remember when this game came out during peak pandemic season, it was too surreal to see this I was just like I gotta continue playing, makes me wanna play it again soon.
The face off between the horde of undead against the R.P.D officials and members of U.B.C.S was one of the best and most memorable parts in the original. To remove it and replace it with some ridiculous real life looking footage, which looks more like an uncontrollable protest than an actual virus outbreak, was just plain stupid.
I like this intro, I really do. But still, I wish CAPCOM should have remake the original intro. The RE3 original intro is the reason why I got hooked in the Resident Evil franchise.
This was probably one of the coolest parts about the game (which doesn't say very good things about the game, but I digress). In the first Resident Evil, live action was used to compensate for bad graphics, for graphics that weren't just unrealistic, but made it difficult to communicate emotions and atmospheres. Almost 25 years later, live action returns but with a completely opposite purpose; to blend in with the graphics. The transition from live-action to pre-rendered CGI to real-time rendered cutscenes is so seamless it's almost hard to tell where it happens. It gives off an after-effect that the game's graphics feel more realistic than they would otherwise feel (they still feel pretty realistic either way; this intro just enhances it).
I feel this more as a cinematic entry than for a game... Really, the OG intro showing the actual mess, zombies everywhere and the last stand fits a lot more than this. I'm not saying is bad, ia still a cool intro... But OG so faw, wins

I mean: “Commitment, honesty, integrity” this quotes of hypocrisy with the employees working on a bio weapon is just epic. the straight up scenes of riots and the cdc talking on live television that the city is on quarantine sets the tone of the game pretty well.

As for Nikolai reason I said it because he’s a mystery like small cutscenes some players don’t know him very well but us we do. I want to play as him so people know who he really is and what’s his intensions are because he locked his some of his teams while zombie wear swarming behind him and taking the helicopter down but all we got see is him running away on RE3R.
The production design is great and all, combining CG and Live Action makes up for a pretty cool intro. Also it's a nice touch to make it topical with the COVID situation at the time. HOWEVER, this remake is notorious for misunderstanding the original and this intro is another example of it. The original intro was an action thrill-ride scene to show how the people were overpowered by the zombies leaving us with an awesome impression of how things went down, and Nemesis isn't part of the intro BECAUSE he isn't relevant at least not yet since the game's first several minutes is set before RE2 where Raccoon City is starting to fall. These minutes of the game was telling us the story of the city first and then after that is done is when Nemesis comes in. An element of buildup is implement through as well with Brad warning us about the monster leaving a lingering impression of what's to come, and then we met Nemesis of course in the RPD. Nemesis' addition in the remake's intro does not even make sense at all, at least if the first few minutes isn't Nemesis immediately. But no, we were left with an immediate chase section that doesn't feel earned, feels forced for the sake of implementing a scary and thrilling chase section. Going back to the intro, with all that production design and stuff, it really doesn't tell much than quick shots of the city and some cops and riots and fails to tell a more coherent perspective about the city's downfall. Also the generic quick ass edits does not help either, like slow the fuck down.

The thing here , similar to the movie "outbreak", Is that the infection and infecteds it's always contained with a final explosion. You can't do that actually, you would have to blow the whole world with the spread of the disease so fast and globaly xD

My brother and I had an argument; he said that while the game came out during the pandemic, it was obviously being developed in 2019, before the pandemic. I simply answered him that they added this Covid-themed intro at the end in post-development.
This intro is amazing. The music is so addictive. Reminds me of the first resident evil movie theme. Pretty much the only thing that was good about the movies. A year later i wish it was footage of Portland, This city is fucked up and needs to go like Raccoon city. 😂
What is sad is that the opening hour of the game is actually pretty good. Keeps you on the edge and the feeling of classic nemesis is there. Sadly it completely goes into the water after this.

The thing here , similar to the movie "outbreak", Is that the infection and infecteds it's always contained with a final explosion.
You can't do that actually, you would have to blow the whole world with the spread of the disease so fast and globaly xD
I just beaten it 2 days ago this is one of the hardest resident evil games I had played you will die in this game way more zombies and things that can kill you I like this one more than RE2 remake people who say this game is bad are wrong im a big fan for years and its not easy or short like other people are saying its a good length game I beat it in 12 hours I also like this Jill she looks like her original look from the original game

Do not tell me this intro is not referring to Covid. My brother and I had an argument; he said that while the game came out during the pandemic, it was obviously being developed in 2019, before the pandemic. I simply answered him that they added this Covid-themed intro at the end in post-development.

Capcom saw the year ahead when they began work on this game in 2019.
This intro is amazing. The music is so addictive. Reminds me of the first resident evil movie theme. Pretty much the only thing that was good about the movies.
A year later i wish it was footage of Portland, This city is fucked up and needs to go like Raccoon city. 😂
What is sad is that the opening hour of the game is actually pretty good. Keeps you on the edge and the feeling of classic nemesis is there. Sadly it completely goes into the water after this.
